| Exploring Our World - Part 2 - Easter Island, Chile - SCIP - a complete makover. |
|
File Description:
Exploring Our World - Part 2 - Easter Island, Chile. In part two of this new series you will find a complete makeover of Easter Island which MS virtually ignored. Designed to compliment the fine Mataveri International Airport by Daniel Rojas (scip_o7.zip at Flightsim.com), this package includes Mesh and adjusted coastlines by John Young. John has also provided a new Afcad which removes unrealistic pushback starts. A new landclass file by John Burford adds the villages near the airport and more realistic ground treatments. You will also find numerous scenery enhancements using objects from the RWY12 and EZ Scenery libraries. Francisco Vargas has contributed a set of Thermals which soaring fans will enjoy. Of special interest is the use of AI Volkswagens, as taxi's driving around the airport and AI Helicopters that take visiting tourists on sightseeing tours. The AI Volkswagens have been provided by Ranier Girbig and are used with his permission. Easter Island, home of the mysterious head statues (Moai) has many new and exciting things just waiting for you to explore. Even the small adjacent Moto Nui Island, which MS forgot, has been added. This is the second of a series exploring lesser known parts of our FS world. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the documentation very carefully to assure a proper installation. ......

AI Ships on Hong Kong Harbor. This enhancement is designed to compliment the 9Dragons version of the old Kai Tak Airport (VHHX). One of the World's busiest harbors will get even busier as this package adds a number of AI ships sailing near the airport and the dock areas, adding visual interest to the Harbor which is already well populated with static ships. You will see a beautiful Yacht, several container ships, a tramp steamer and the SS Ile de France Cruise ship - all arriving and/or departing the area. A properly installed 9Dragons Kai Tak scenery is required. Models used are by Phil Crowther and Mitsuya Hamaguchi (Hama). A few technical notes are included if you wish to experiment with adding AI ships to your own scenery. This enhancement is for FS2004 only. File Description:
AI Tall Ships sailing on Long Island Sound - A gathering of ten vintage AI Sailing Ships near Fisher's Island, New York. This scenery features incredibly detailed AI Sailing Ships modeled by Ron Jeffers, Pierre de Rotalier and Mike Hill. The project includes a replica of the Pequod - Captain Ahab's whaling ship in the epic novel "Moby Dick". Eight of the ten ships make twice daily trips around Fisher's Island. There is also an animated naval rowboat which makes short demonstration runs daily. With one exception, all required files are included. This scenery has been tested with Ultimate Terrain and the FS2004 default environment. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the simple, illustrated instructions. Then sit back, watch the seas come to life and relive a little history. This package works very well with John B.Loney's Elizabeth Airport - 0b8_v1.zip - available here. | RAF Chivenor 1979-1992 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Originally a civil airfield opened in the 1930s, the site was taken over by the Royal Air Force in May 1940 for use as a Coastal Command Station, and was known as RAF Chivenor. After the Second World War, the station was largely used for training, particularly weapons training. During the 1960s, one of the RAF's Tactical Weapons Units (TWU) used Hawker Hunter aircraft for training. In 1974 the station was left on "care and maintenance", though No. 624 Volunteer Gliding Squadron continued to fly from there. The TWU returned, flying BAE Hawks, in 1979 and 1981. In 1994, the TWU left Chivenor, merging with No. 4 Flying Training School at RAF Valley, and the airfield was handed over to the Royal Marines.
This scenery includes all the Hawk aircraft of 2 TWU in both camouflage and air defence grey schemes, depending on your preferred choice. There are flightplans included, which are representative only, but enables the aircraft to fly to bases and checkpoints around the country.
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience. With BIG thanks to Nick Black for the use of his superb AI Hawk, and to Chris A. Brown for paintin' 'em!

| Sembach Air Base 1990 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This scenery is a representation of Sembach Air Base in the former West Germany during 1990. At the time, Sembach was host to the 66th Electronic Combat Wing, which was responsible for the home-based EC-130H "Compass Call" aircraft of the 43rd Electronic Combat Squadron, and also had in-direct control of the 42nd Electronic Combat Squadron based at RAF Upper Heyford in the U.K. flying the Grumman EF-111A Raven.
The 66th ECW moved into Sembach during 1986, and spent the next six years flying from there. The role of the aircraft was electronic disruption of enemy radio and radar transmissions, to limit the enemies ability to co-ordinate their own forces and also the transmission of propaganda in an attempt to win hearts and minds.
Sembach was also known as Det.1 of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing, based at the Twin Bases complex of RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters. The A-10A's of the six squadrons there would regularly deploy to Sembach and other Forward Operating Locations (FOLs) within West Germany, which was a part of their war-time role.
Included in this package are repaints of all six EC-130H's present at Sembach as of April 1990.

| RAF Brawdy 1979-1992 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
In September of 1974, No. 229 Operational Conversion Unit moved to Brawdy after the closure of RAF Chivenor. This unit was later renamed No.1 Tactical Weapons Unit, and became one of two TWU's equipped with the Hawk trainer. The Hawk and Hunter equipped Nos. 79 and 234 Squadrons. There were also some unique Jet Provosts present as well. The Camouflaged T Mk 4 JP's provided Forward Air Controller training for both the fast jet trainees and for army controllers.
The Hunters were retired by mid-1984, and the Jet Provosts had gone by the end of the 80s.
RAF Brawdy was itself laid to rest by the Royal Air Force, who moved out the Hawks during 1994 and had relocated to RAF Leeming. Brawdy was passed over to the army and renamed Cawdor Barracks.
This scenery includes all the Hawk aircraft of 1 TWU in both camouflage and air defence grey schemes, depending on your preferred choice. There are flightplans included, which are representative only, but enables the aircraft to fly to bases and checkpoints around the country.
I have also included flighplans for the RAF Hawker Hunter model by John Young (acg_hunters_raf_9.zip from flightsim.com), to be used in conjunction with the camouflaged Hawks.
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience.

| Castle of Cany-Barville |
|
File Description:
France, In the department of the Maritime Seine (76), beside the town of Cany-Barville. Situated within the greenness of the Durdent valley, the castle of Cany offers its visitors the pleausure of dicovering the
majesty of its "cour d'honneur" and its outbuildings.
The castle still recalls to memory the severe splendour of the Louis XIII era.
Constructed on the request of Pierre le Marinier by François Mansard, the uncle of the builder of Versailles,
between 1640 and 1646,this beautiful residence never since left the family.
Thanks to Armande de Becdelièvre the castle has still preserved, to a great extent, its antique furniture. She succeeded,
indeed, in saving Cany from expropriation during the tragic hours of the Revolution.
