AES configuration file for the SSTSIM Concorde Download

File Description:
AES configuration file for the payware SSTSIM Concorde. Docking gates or mobile air stairs will connect with the left forward door. This is the only door that I activated for this file. Tested only with the production models - not tested with pre-production or prototype models. Requires Airport Enhancement Services from Aerosoft. Please note the following: - 1) Due to a limitation with AES, catering service vehicles will not align properly with the right forward door. In AES, its position is deduced from the position of the LEFT door, which with this product, as with the real aircraft, is a few feet further toward the rear. Therefore the gate/stairs willl align properly, but the catering truck driver will miss the mark. 2) I chose not to include baggage vehicles as the forward cargo doors are in an awkward position under the fuselage, and the rear door is too high to be reached properly by the AES baggage vehicles. 3) None of the cargo doors operate on this model anyway.

Paradise Airlines Lockheed L-049 Constellation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Textures for the Lockheed L-049 Constellation by the team Roland Berger, Volker Boehme, Manfred Jahn, Luis Pallas, Bill Tyne and Stefan Werner. Repaint by Manfred Meyer. The company Nevada Airmotive bought TWA's L-049 fleet in 1962 for lease and/or resell them. But only fife of the 25 Constellations found new operators .

One of these aircrafts was c/n 2025, built 1945 and used by Lockheed as factory demonstrator until delivered to TWA as NC86504 "Star of France" in 1946. Sold to Nevada Airmotive in 1962 and leased to Futura Airlines and some month later to Paradise Airlines Inc. Oakland, CA. Paradise used the plane together with two further Constellations for flights from Oakland, Salinas, San Jose and other points in California to Lake Tahoe, bringing peoples to Horrah's gambling club there. Sadly N86504 crashed 1. march 1964 nine miles northwest of Lake Tahoe into the mountains with the lost of all 85 on board. Paradise AL then was forced to close down by FAA for failing to conduct a safe operation.

CYYH - Taloyoak - Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Taloyoak is on the coast of northern mainland Canada, on the west of the Boothia Peninsula, where it is at it's narrowest. Gjoa Haven is 80 miles southwest, and Hall Beach is 300 miles to the east. Taloyoak was established around a Hudson Bay trading post that was relocated from Fort Ross in 1948 because of poor ice conditions. There is now a clinic, school, church, recreation centre, two markets, two small hotels, and housing for the population of around 900. The airfield is to the west of the village on higher ground at 92 feet asl, and the 4,020 feet of 100 feet wide gravel runway is aligned 151T/331T where T stands for "true" as opposed to magnetic in the Northern Domestic Airspace. Only JETA-1 is available, unless there is some 100LL in drums. There are flights by First Air and Canadian North and the AI includes a daily flight of each, plus an afternoon cargo visit by a Buffalo C46; the closest large city is Yellowknife, 750 miles southwest.

Super VC10 Panel upgrade Part 8.2 Download

File Description:
This is an important additional update for David Maltby's Super VC10 model regarding the engines, also requiring download of the previous updates 1 to 8 and 8.1. This update overcomes the bug that Microsoft introduced (left behind) in FS9 with regard to engine ignition (but corrected in FSX). In FS9 engine ignition is hard coded to 22%n2. Not all engines can be modelled in that way so in effect the ignition sequence has to be made to run "outside" the sim. Niot a new concept by any means but it does make the coding much more complex as lots of other factors have to be taken into account. In reality the RR Conway engines light-up at 11-12%n2 with the ignition being held on until about 24%n2. This has now been correctly modelled. The hot start procedure has also been re-modelled to fit the new code. In the process of coding i noticed that one of the engines tends to run a bit on the hot side so keep a watchfull eye.

Trans Orient Pacific (TOPAC) Douglas DC-4 N4665V Download

File Description:
This is a repaint of one of the 2 aircraft used in the film "The High and The Mighty" (John Wayne and Robert Stack - 1954). This aircraft actually flew in this paint around Los Angeles and the bay area of southern California in November of 1953 for in-flight footage, so it's entirely fictional...but the airline was. The original repaint was by Dave McQueen for Jens B. Kristensen's DC-4/C-54 version 2.0. I have updated it to make it compatable with the Jens' new version 2.1 (DC4_v21.zip) to use the DC-4-1009 airfile. Load your plane with 3050 gallons of fuel and balance out passengers and cargo to total 73,000 lbs. and you can duplicate flight #420 in the film! If you wish to shut down engine #1 and dump 200 gallons of fuel from the left wing and see if you can still get to San Fransico from Honolulu, that's up to you..but it is a challenge. Enjoy! This repaint requires Jens B. Kristensen's DC-4/C-54 version 2.1 (DC4_v21.zip)

KLM Douglas DC-3 PK-ALW Download

File Description:
After the occupation of the Netherlands in May 1940 several KLM DC-3's got stuck in the Dutch East Indies. One of them was PH-ALW 'Wielewaal' ('Oriole'). Although the DC-3 was operated as PK-ALW by KNILM from 1 June 1940 on, she was still owned by KLM and as such flew the shortened "Indies-route" Batavia to Lydda (Palestine, by then under British mandate). On 7 March 1942 PK-ALW was the last civil aircraft to leave the Dutch East Indies when the Japan invaded the island archipel. From then on the aircraft continued its career in Australia, first as a military aircraft and after the war as an airliner, registered VH-INR. The DC-3 still exists (2007) as a static museumpiece of the Queensland Air Museum in Caloundra, Queensland. The repaint of PK-ALW is based on the templates Mark Beaumont created for the MAAM-SIM Douglas DC-3 (passenger version), which were based on Jan Visser's original textures. This repaint has not been tested for FSX but will probably function there as well. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.
