File Description:
Cape Dorset is a village of 1,300 or so inhabitants at N 64 13 W 76 31 on Dorset Island, off the southwest corner of Baffin Island. It's Inuit name is Kinngait, which means "High Mountains"; watch out if you fly there in low clouds. The village (again) does not feature in FS9 but is included in this scenery with approximately the right shape, or shapes as there are separate parts. The airfield runway is just under 4,000 feet of gravel 100 feet wide at 158 feet above sea level. There is a double gradient to it, but unfortunately this cannot be replicated in FS.
Cape Dorset had a Hudson Bay Company store as long ago as 1913, and is now known as a centre for Inuit art. I added the roads, a new airfield background, a pond between apron and runway, plus of course there is the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI, which has two planes visiting, a First Air HS748 and a Canadian North Dash 8-100, as per real life.

I know, I know, the "Quebecair" company dosen't have this kind of plane. Maybe in the future.
But this painting is not entirely fictive. The texture are has realistic has possible. Based on the real
SAAB 340 fleet. These textures are dedicated to all the virtual pilots of the world, especialy for
thoses of the province of Quebec. Enjoy! This paint have the unique particularity to possess a 100% external night texture done from scratch.
70% of theses night textures are absolutely new and stunning on this model. (Three horray for
Meljet!!!) Thank to Melvin Rafi to design such a great model. (Long live the king!!!)

File Description:
This is a repaint of one of the 2 aircraft used in the film "The High and The Mighty" (John Wayne and Robert Stack - 1954). This aircraft actually flew in this paint around Los Angeles and the bay area of southern California in November of 1953 for in-flight footage, so it's entirely fictional...but the airline was.
The original repaint was by Dave McQueen for Jens B. Kristensen's DC-4/C-54 version 2.0. I have updated it to make it compatable with the Jens' new version 2.1 (DC4_v21.zip) to use the DC-4-1009 airfile. Load your plane with 3050 gallons of fuel and balance out passengers and cargo to total 73,000 lbs. and you can duplicate flight #420 in the film! If you wish to shut down engine #1 and dump 200 gallons of fuel from the left wing and see if you can still get to San Fransico from Honolulu, that's up to you..but it is a challenge. Maddog 2008 in China Northern Airlines B-2126 Repaint. You have to install payware LSH maddog 2008 first. The company was one of the six major airlines in mainland China which operated Airbus A300, MD-80/90 and Airbus A321, serving domestic routes as well as to Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and North Korea. On May 7, 2002, exactly 10 years ago, China Northern Airlines Flight 6136(Reg.B-2138) was flying from Beijing to Dalian when the pilot reported fire on board. Downside residents thousands of people and a large Petroleum Refinery. The captain noticed the situation and minutes later the plane crashed into the bay, avoiding injuries on the ground. Later, they found a passenger purchased 7 air insurance policies of this flight and investigation on the wreckage showed a quantity of gasoline near his seat. The conclusion is a passenger committed suicide and delibrately set the plane on fire. After the crash, China Northern Airlines merged with China Southern Airlines and became one of the largest airlines serving mainland China.

Smithers is in northwest BC, 60 miles east and a bit north of Terrace (my previous post) and directly east of the southern border of Alaska, 430 miles north of Vancouver on the Yellowhead highway. The town has a population of 5,500 and is set in a north-south valley between mountains, the most impressive of which is Hudson Bay Mountain to the west. The airport is to the north of the town and has a single runway of 7,544 feet, aligned 33-15. The main user is Central Mountain Air, who are headquartered in Smithers and have a large maintenance hangar there next to the terminal building. The airport has scheduled flights by Central Mountain Air, Jazz, and Hawk Air, which are in the AI along with a Lockheed Electra of Conair (who are the largest operator of fire fighting planes in BC and have re-fill tanks in Smithers) and also a HS 748 of Air North, which is actually for an upcoming post of Old Crow CYOC.

Textures for Tom Gibson's Douglas DC-6 - repainted by Manfred Meyer.
You need to download and install the latest Douglas DC-6 base pack with model, sound and panel from the website calclassic.com.
These textures depict HC-ARK "El Pinguino" (c/n 42865) of Americana de Aviacion. This Ecuadorian Company leased and later bought this plane in 1968 and used it, among others, for flights to the Galapagos Islands.
This DC-6 was the 13. built and originally delivered 1947 to American Airlines as "Flagship Texas" renamed later "Flagship South Carolina". American AL sold her 1960 to Aerolineas Peruanas as OB-OAD-545. From 1964 onwards she was in the hands of some U.S.leasing companies and goes then to Americana of Ecuador. They used the plane until 1970 and then it was broken up at Quito after 1975.
The Lettering "DC-6 EQUIPADO CON RADAR" should be on the nose wheel doors, but unfortunately this is not possible at this FS model. So I put the text on the lower bow near the nose wheel bay.

File Description:
Volume 1 in a series of AFCAD updates for the Caribbean and Central America. Includes Providenciales (MBPV), Belize (MZBZ), Montego Bay (MKJS), Liberia (MRLB), Grand Cayman (MWCR), Santiago (MDST), Nassau (MYNN), and Port-au-Prince (MTPP). For those of you with my older versions of some of these airport please override as there are new enhancements to those airports. Like with any program there's always a learning curve and you are always learning new things, I've been able to update several of my first AFCADS. All gates have airline assignments that are generally accurate and gate numbering that is generally accuarate. It's always much easier to do AFCADS for large airports in the US, Canada, etc since they tend to have airport websites and more reference material available. Alot of these smaller airports in the Caribbean and such do not have much material available so most of it has to either be from memory, the little material available and a bit of intelligent guessing. Having said that this is, of course, 10x better then the default.

Seldovia is a small airfield across the Kachemak Bay from Homer, 15 miles to the south. The runway is gravel and without lighting; the runway edges and the apron edges are marked by cones. The runway in real life is aligned 16-34 and is just over 1,800 feet, increased here to 2,200 feet to accomodate FS9 AI plane capabilities. The video is one of a series that are well worth watching and this one demonstrates the technique of short field landing and take off.
There is AI, with flights between Homer and Seldovia. I should mention here that the I can only make scenery to fit into my version of FS9, and probably your version is not exactly the same. Also, you may not have the planes that I have used for AI. Unfortunately I cannot cater for something I do not have myself. Homer PAHO will follow on from this post. This is the seventh in a series of new and renovated float bases in BC. Port McNeill is a float base in a sheltered inlet on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island, close to the town and just under 20 miles east of the Port Hardy float base. There is no fuel available as the Port Hardy floatbase (already posted) acts as a refuelling centre for this and other float bases in the neighbourhood. The dock is to the west of the marina and east of the log raft area. The AI is a further adaptation of the CF36 AI and involves Beavers as listed in the AI folder. At Port McNeill all the AI works for both landing and takeoff for all of the planes, no matter what the wind direction is. All of these float bases can be installed together in the same folders, with a saving in duplicate textures. So a series called BC Floats (or whatever you want to call it) or individually installed float bases; your choice. The next in the series was suposed to be Sullivan Bay, another floating marina, but I digressed to Port Hardy and Port McNeill.

| British Airways Airbus A320-232 (G-EUUK) |

File Description:
British Airways has been my international airline of choice all my life. It took me across the "pond" to Barcelona and back many times. Such a great airline BA is. So it may go without saying that painting this A320 in British Airways livery was a true pleasure and honor. I chose this particular airframe because it is one of the newer A320's in the British Airways A320 fleet. It was delivered to BA in December of 2002. I also chose it for the interesting registration; G-EUUK. I saw that and thought...EU for European Union and UK for...ok, well that's obvious, right? So, on the tail and the forward gear bay doors is are the letters "UK". Magic, no? I strived for accuracy and detail as much as my skills and tools would permit. I hope I have not failed any of you in that respect with this package. Most of the textures in the repaint are 32-bit with no mipmaps. The wings are DXT3. This is a complete install; Project Airbus A320 IAE model and air files included. Uses default 737 panel and sounds.
