KLM 1956-1960, Lockheed L-749A Constellation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
First of all for those who installed the repaint package 'Lockheed L-749A Constellation KLM 1950-1955': I overlooked a mistake in the folder texture.KLM-1955-PHLDP. In this package you will also find a replacement bitmap.

KLM was a major European operator of various models of the Lockheed Constellation and Super Constellation. Out of 48 Connies and Super Connies, 11 were L-749 (8 of them later converted to L-749A) and 9 were L-749A Constellations. The first L-749 entered service with KLM in August 1947, and for some 13 years this and the other L-749(A) Connies served on various medium- and long-haul routes. By the end of the 1950's the career of KLM's (Super) Constellation started to come to an end with the arrival of the Douglas DC-7C and, introducing the airlines' jet-age, the DC-8.

Featured are KLM's PH-LDS 'Soerabaja' (1957 livery), PH-LDE 'Utrecht (1958 livery), PH-LDT 'Tilburg' (1958 livery) and PH-LDK 'Amsterdam' (1959 livery), both without and with "Speedpak" cargo pod. These are textures only. You will require Team 749's (Manfred Jahn & Co) Lockheed L-749 Constellation package (lockheed749.zip). Also required Team 749's Lockheed L-749 Constellation models update (749_models_update.zip). Repaints (based on Manfred Jahn's textures) by Maarten Brouwer.

Sperry 177 FCU Autopilot Panel Modification v2.1 for the Tinmouse II Boeing 737-200 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This package includes the files and installation procedures for a modification of the terrific Tinmouse II Boeing 737-200 panel available on AVSIM to add a Sperry 177 FCU autopilot to the panel. While the Tinmouse II panel is simply one of the best freeware 2D panels ever created, a number of pilots have expressed a desire for a replacement of the Sperry 77 (CWS) autopilot with the Sperry 177 (dials and digits) autopilot. The previous Sperry 177 modification I released had many of the elements of a Sperry 177, but did not entirely look or function like a Sperry 177 FCU. This version (2.1) corrects many of these issues, and should bring an entirely new level of realism to your Tinmouse II panel over the v1.0 modification. Here's the list of corrections and improvements implemented in the v2.1 package over v1 and v2: Actual Sperry 177 layout and functionality, Course knob now fully functional and works in synergy with gyro course knob, Panel refresh rate now accurate and smooth (no "click delay"), VOR LOC button drives the FS NAV1 Lock button, LNAV turns on the GPS Drives NAV1 signal, and an optional Sperry 177 full MCP layout or condensed w/ FD layout. This package requires the latest Tinmouse II aircraft and panel, which at the time of this release was v1.26.

Airline Inventory Update #2 Download

File Description:
(Update 2 - 3 January 2006) Not long ago I embarked on a project to streamline my flight simulator's AI setup. I knew I had too many aircraft texture sets that I was not using, too many unnecessary night texture files, installation of defunct airlines, and the like. So, I put together a spreadsheet showing my AI system with all the airlines and additional pieces such as vehicles and ships. This has been a very large and time-consuming project as my AI system has more than 7,000 texture sets, more than 2,200 airline folders, and other assorted AI components. Inside you'll find an Excel spreadsheet with all my airlines (more than 2,200) listed, Birds, Blimp, Corporate Aircraft, Defunct Airlines, Douglas DC-3, Float Planes, Government Aircraft, Helicopters, Medical Aircraft, Military Aircraft, Personal Registration Aircraft, Ships, and Vehicles - all associated with the FS AI system. In addition, I've included the spreadsheet's source text files for those that do not have Microsoft Excel. NOTE: You can download an MS Excel spreadsheet viewer (freeware) from the Microsoft site. Because of copyright restrictions and the size of my AI system, I have not provided links to specific files. However, I think you'll find the data very useful. See the readme file for a list of possible sources and contact information. NONE: Changes since the last update are reflected in "green" text. Frank Bass

Sikorsky CH-3 'Jolly Green Giant'. Three detailed Sikorsky CH-3 liveries of original helicopters, used by the USAF in the early sixties. Download

File Description:
This download, based on the original Giovanni Quai's Agusta HH-3F, contains three detailed Sikorsky CH-3 liveries of original helicopters, used by the USAF in the early sixties. -Sikorsky CH-3E USAF/21stHeliSqdr. No.703 'DUSTY'.Vietnam War Livery. CH-3E Jolly Green Giant heavy-lift helicopter, introduced in 1962. It was developed for aircrew rescue missions deep into enemy-held territory during the Vietnam War where the helicopters were best known as the "Jolly Green Giants". This version contains an improved and more detailed livery. -Sikorsky CH-3 USAF 1370th Photographic Mapping Wing, MATS, APCS, Turner AFB, Albany, GA 1959-1966. Bare metal liveries around 1966, No's. 39686 and 39687. These helicopters were used by the 1370th Photo-Mapping Wing for supply and support of geodetic ground stations in conjunction with aerial surveys. They were assigned to the wing in 1964 and replaced the H-21 "Workhorse". Both "Jollys" joined the Ethiopia-U.S. Mapping Mission (Project AF58-3), aka Project "King's Ransom " in 1964-1966. This unique mission was created in order to photograph and map the entire Empire of Ethiopia. If you want to know more about the 1370th Photographic Mapping Wing or photomapping helicopters in general, please visit the very interesting page of Jim Kinter sr. Air Force One Boeing 747-200 Download

File Description:
Project Open Sky Boeing 747-200 Air Force One, tail number 29000. This aircraft has been painted due to popular request on the POSky forums and is my second repaint of AF1, this time it's on a more accurate model. The overall aircraft model is correct, except the engines are of the wrong type (AF1 uses the B744 engines) and there are alot of missing antennae. This repaint is 100% hand drawn. Features accurate (or close to it) colors, correct window placement and livery positions, reflective textures, and "USAF" and the star and bar on the wings (commonly forgotten on other AF1 repaints; see picture). Includes a series of screen shots by Doug Leiser.
