| MATVA Pacific Island Afcads |
|
File Description:
Afcad2 files for some of the Pacific airfields used by ourselves. These Afcads are designed for FS2004 default airfields only. While most of them add more gates etc to the default airfields some of them are required to allow AI aircraft to operate from/to them as there are no landing facilities. Airfields included are Davao (RPMD) in the Philippines, Northern Marianas Islands W. Tinian (PGWT), Rota Is (PGRO), and Saipan (PGSN). Micronesian Group, Koror (PTRO), Yap Is (PTYA), Chuuk Is (PTKK) and Pohnpei (PTPN) and lastly Majuro Atoll (PKMJ) in the Marshall Is. Enjoy folks. www.matvagroup.co.uk

| Mustique TVSM in the Grenadines |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Mustique island is one of the northernmost of the group of islands known as the Grenadines, just south of Bequia. Mustique is a small island, less than 3 miles long and even at its widest less than a mile wide; as a result the resident population is less than 500. The island is unique in that it is owned by a company. The company is owned, in its turn, by the owners of the 100 or so private villas on the island. The Queen of England is one owner; her participation is balanced out by Jeremy Clarkson.
The airport is at the northern end of the island; the runway is around 3,240 feet long, aligned 09 (and with the southeast trade winds it is most unlikely that you will ever find yourself using 27) and with a steep and displaced threshold of over 900 feet. The displaced threshold is shown but unfortunately FS9 is not capable of coping with anything other than a prefectly flat airport. The terminal is a steel-framed shed with cladding, but is "quaintly" transformed with a palm frond roof etc. There are connecting flights by SVG to Barbados and the other islands and these are reflected in the AI. The airport has no lighting, and flights are obliged to land and depart in daylight hours only, outside of which the airport is closed.

| Union Island TVSU in the Grenadines, eastern Caribbean Version 1.1 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This is a self-contained version 1.1 that modifies the terrain flattens around the airport. I found that suddenly, and for no apparent reason, the Lesser Antilles mesh and my flattens were at war and creating hills within the airport boundary. If you are not having problems then you do not need this.
Union Island is in the southern tail of the chain of islands known as St Vincent and the Grenadines, between Canouan and Carriacou. Union is another small island, 3.5 miles long and at its widest 1.5 miles wide; the resident population is around 3,000, mostly in the two towns Clifton and Ashton. The airport is at the eastern end of the island, and has been extended into the sea on landfill. The runway is now around 2,480 feet long, aligned 08 (and with the southeast trade winds it is unlikely that you will find yourself using 26) and with a displaced threshold of 530 feet due to the hill to the west. The terminal is adjacent to a rather small apron; there is parking on the grass north of the taxiway. There are connecting flights by SVG to Barbados and the other islands and these are reflected in the AI. The airport has no lighting, and flights are obliged to land and depart in daylight hours only, outside of which the airport is closed.

| Middle Brother Mt., NSW- TV tower |
|
File Description:
On the mid-north coast of New South Wales, approximately half-way between Taree in the south and Port Macquarie in the north, are three mountains, named by Captain James Cook in 1770 when he navigated up the east coast of Australia. They are South Brother, Middle Brother and North Brother - the latter also known locally as "Laurieton Mountain".
In the late 1950's - early 1960's, when rural television coverage was being introduced, a transmitter tower was placed on the summit of Middle Brother. As I come from that area I decided that it was time that Middle Brother had its tower placed upon it. So here it is.
It's not an exact replica as it uses an embedded default FS2004 image, but at least you do not need any additional graphics.

| Australian Lighthouses - Part 5 - Western Australia |
|
File Description:
Around Australia's coastline there are over 350 lighthouses. I received a suggestion a month ago asking if I would do the locations of the lighthouses down the coast of New South Wales and when I did a bit of research I thought, why not do the whole 36,735 kilometres around Australia? Here is Part 6 - the lighthouses located on the coastline of Western Asutralia - the first landfall for the early European explorers and many decades before Captain James Cook encountered the Great South Land. Some installations no longer exist but I have included several (not all of them) for those of us who like historical and period flying. If it was there in 1935, it's there in this package! There is a Read Me included. No third-party content is required.

Two little flights - set in the modern era, which is a departure for me - that are replicas of the real-world services offered by New Zealand's "Sounds Air" company. Their web-site is at ->> http://www.soundsair.com/ <<- and is worth a visit as there is full information relating to the timetables and also some great photographs. The aircraft used in this re-enactment - KLC - is also featured. The FS2004 model - the GA-8 Airvan by Mike Stone - is available at his site:- www.pmstone.com.
The Sounds Air livery - by Dan Hayward - is available here at Avsim.com and is named ga8klc.zip.

| 3 Herons - part 1: De Havilland Heron 1 BEA |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The De Havilland Heron must be the smallest four engine airliner in the world! And it can take off and land almost anywhere. This, the first in my Three Herons series, represents the Mark 1 variety with fixed undercarriage. This is G-ANXB - named Sir James Simpson, which served British European Airways for many years serving the Scottish islands and regularly used to land on the beach at Barra. This package includes a high detail panel featuring many new gauges. As these gauges are common to all three in this series, these have been placed in a separate download herongg.zip. See also 3h-rnupd.zip. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]
