After leasing Viscounts from Hunting Clan for a time, MEA recieved their own examples technically leased from BOAC associate companies. This one OD-ACU saw service in the Channel Islands for the month of July 1961 when it was leased by Jersey Airlines. It ended its days with Air Zimbabwe in 1983. | Grindstone Island grass strip New York and the St. Lawrence River |

File Description:
Grindstone Island is in the St. Lawrence River and an area known as 1,000 Islands, close to Lake Ontario. I am posting it here along with Maxson as they are close, although at the Grindstone Island strip there is absolutely nothing except a grass runway. I have no idea who uses it or how often, but it is there. And now it is here too.

This flight is set in 1947, when BWIA were operating the Vickers Viking, and the route takes you down the chain of islands from St. Kitts to Trinidad (the nation of Trinidad & Tobago did not exist back in 1947).

I have been to the Island and believe it or not this is how the aircraft are parked! There is enough room for 5 medium sized jets and some general aviation also.
