File Description:
Anticosti Island is in the Gulf of St Lawrence, around 25 miles off the Quebec mainland coast. It is some 40 miles wide and 130 miles long on an east west axis. There are few urban areas and only one that can be described as a small town, namely Port Menier at the western end of the southern coast, with a population of under 1,000. There is a ferry service to the harbour.
The airport, Port Menier CYPN, is around 3 miles northeast of the town, with an asphalt runway aligned 11-28, 4,875 feet long and 150 feet wide with PAPI at each end. In 2010 (the approximate date of this scenery) a gravel runway was still visible at the eastern end of the field. This was no longer in use by 2010, except perhaps by small planes on skis in the winter.
The island, with its small population, small urban area, and no industry other than logging, has as a result a mainly undisturbed wildlife population. This has made deer hunting and fishing the main tourist activities, with one company (called Safari) having an exclusive licence to exploit large areas of mountains and rivers. Planeloads of hunters and fishermen are flown in on chartered Nolinor Aviation planes, landing at CYPN. There are a further two airfields in the eastern end of the island, and in 2010 Rivere-Aux-Saumons CTH7 had a 5,500 feet gravel runway, linked by road to a lodge area at the mouth of the river. This is the only lodge area that I have been able to locate, but there are others. To the south Riviere Bell CRB5 had at that time a gravel runway that was 3,000 feet long. This has been lengthened since then and both runways were recently (2021) asphalted.

This is a corrected, full package, no update. In the package available before 06th June 2004 I included the wrong model file. If you already downloaded the package available before 06th June 2004 just take the model file of an PW powered Meljet 777-200 and copy it into the model folder of the United Airlines 777-222. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Do you ever wonder what airports you are flying over and do not wish to consult a Map or the GPS (if your aircraft has one)?
This little gauge, which can be easily added to virtually any panel, will display the ICAO code, the Airport Name and the Airport's location as you pass nearby. The display can be fixed on a panel or can be installed as a pop-up window called by a panel icon. Complete instructions and sample setups using the default Cessna 172 are included. This gauge is designed to be used in the 2D cockpit environment has been tested in FS2004 but may work in FSX also. XML script by the late Roelof Kruijer - packaged by David "Opa" Marshall for your flying enjoyment. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the instructions which are in .Doc and .PDF formats.

Mark-II Edition. This South African Airlines livery is the second and final version. Thanks to the peoples (POSKY members and E-Mails) who advise me about problems on my previous version. This great paint is now better than ever. I've carefully respected the details, colours and ID numbers. Some improvements have been done to the real life scheme. Only the connoisseurs will notice what I'm talking about. The results... a true great paint. Even professional pilots do like very much this paint! Requested by Ian du Plessi. 100% of the external textures have been repainted and revised from scratch. Due to a lack of realism and precison I've revised entirely the night effects from scratch. I've also haded some new night effects. The realism is now more stunning than ever. I've partialy revised the interior of the passengers cockpit. Rugs and seats are now more realistic.

Created using EZ-Scenery by Abacus. I could find only a few photos of Yellowknife, so there was a certain amount of guesswork involved in making this scenery. The general layout should be reasonably accurate and it's hopefully an improvement over the default scenery. The terminal and tower at the real Yellowknife are really cool. I'm sorry I couldn't do a better job at representing them. Also includes a file to add some additional GA traffic. Have fun flying in the beautiful Northwest Territories. Handley Page HP81 Hermes 4 c/n 8 G-ALDG 'City of Chester'. Formerly 'Horsa' of BOAC, leased by Silver City Airways from CL Air Surveys on 11 August 1959 and returned on 16 October 1959. Purchased from Falcon Airways on 29 October 1959. Withdrawn from use in October 1962. Fuselage used by British United Airways Ltd for cabin crew training at Gatwick and now preserved at Imperial War Museum, Duxford. These are texture files only. Prior installation of Jens B. Kristensen's Handley Page HP81 Hermes is required. Repaint by Andre Reimers.
