Montana Unleashed! - Part One Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Montana Unleashed! Part 1 is the first in a two part series of a collection of airports in Montana. The majority of airports covered in Part 1 are located in the western half of the state. THIS IS A RE-UPLOAD OF A PREVIOUS UPLOADED SCENERY THAT WAS LOST DURING THE AVSIM HACK! NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Montana Unleashed! is a collection of 14 highly detailed airports, created using Abacus' EZ-Scenery, scattered about the state of Montana and one in Washington. Do a ZipDive and check out some of the screenshots! The state of Montana, from what I've seen, seems to have been very neglected by scenery makers over the years which is surprising considering the beautiful and varied landscapes the state has to offer. There's some very cool approaches at many of these airports. The size of the airports vary from large all the way down to small county airports meaning you can fly just about any kind and size of aircraft with these sceneries. Fly your Delta 737 from Salt Lake to Bozeman. Fly your shiny new Skywest EMB-120 from Missoula to Billings. Or fly your Piper Cub from Havre City to Choteau and on to Dillon. It's all here!

Kugaaruk CYBB and DEW Pelly Bay CWPB in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Kugaaruk is on the coast of northern mainland Canada on the Boothia Peninsula, 60 miles into a deep north-south fjord-like inlet called Pelly Bay. The name was changed from Pelly Bay in 1999, and the population is around 800. Gjoa Haven is 150 miles to the west, and Hall Beach just over 200 miles to the east. Six miles south of the village, and connected by a gravel road, there is a NWS station and what remains of a DEW Auxiliary Site; the DEW site was closed in 1992, a year after the NWS station became operational. There is also a 3,350 feet long gravel runway beside Barrow Lake 2 miles east of the site, Pelly Bay CWPB. Kugaaruk airfield is adjacent to the village and the 5,000 feet of 100 feet wide gravel runway is aligned 049T/229T where T stands for "true" as opposed to magnetic. There are flights by First Air and Canadian North and the AI includes a daily flight of each from Yellowknife via Gjoa Haven (as per real life) plus a cargo visit by Buffalo. Although the runway is long enough to accomodate a 737 it is not licensed for regular scheduled jet flights; the reason for this is that the approach lighting is "inadequate". Included here is a new .bgl for Gjoa Haven which will remove the small hold short line from the gravel; my mistake.

US Airways OC Airbus A320-214 (N124US) with Lighting Effects and Updated FDE Download

File Description:
I am proud to present this highly detailed repaint of US Airways A320-214, registration N124US, in their old livery. US Airways was founded in my home state of Pennsylvania by the DuPont family in 1939 as a mail courier service, and became a passenger carrier in 1949. US Airways has changed its name 4 times until taking the current name. This airframe was delivered to US Airways from Airbus in November of 2000 and is the last CFM equipped 214 model purchased by US Airways. Subsequent to this, US Airways has been purchasing the IAE equipped 231 and 232 models. US Airways operates 66 A320's, using them to provide domestic service throughout the US and international service to the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico. I paid attention to detail and realism as much as possible. I added some dirt and grime to the airframe in parts where it showed in photos of this aircraft. I also distressed the Vstab lines as this part of these aircraft from US Airways always look the worst. I think these details have added a realistic touch without being overdone. This full installation package includes the Project Airbus A320 CFM V2 model and air files, a modified FDE (with permission from Peter Binamira of Project Airbus), A320 lighting enhancements and 32-bit textures. Uses default 737-400 panel and sounds. Please see Install.txt for installation details.

Nick's LightFix Download

File Description:
The concept and the base textures for this package are from Mark Poole and his original light replacement releases. Mark's original Nav Light package has a really good concept and uses light textures which create sharp lens flairs or bursts. I found the lens flair in his packages to be a bit too large and out of scale for my display and taste. Also, I wanted to have an easy way to replace all the FS9 lights in one shot with little or no configuration file editing. With that in mind, this package was created. This release will automatically replace ALL the Flight Simulator aircraft and airport lights with more realistic ones along with better distance visuals of slower flashing radio tower/smoke stack and ground beacons. It also includes replacement lights in scale for the PMDG 737, 747 and for all Project Opensky aircraft offered on their site. It works automatically with Ultimate Traffic and other AI add-ons which use the default Microsoft aircraft lights. I added a diffused halo effect to Mark's original airport_lighting_v2 texture which gives a more realistic look in cloudy or weather conditions and enhances the dynamic directional brightness of the lights. In addition to the navigation lights, I have also created aircraft beacons and strobes which will also install automatically . A restore package is included allowing to you to revert back to default FS9 texture and FX files. ENJOY! From Nick Needham [email protected]

Prudhoe Bay area on Alaska North Slope US Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Prudhoe Bay area of the Alaska north slope is dominated by all the equipment and machinery that is necessary for the extraction of oil and its transfer by the pipeline that reaches south to Valdez. Prudhoe Bay airport is now closed, and its replacement just to the south is Deadhorse PASC, with numerous storage, maintenance, and accomodation areas immediately to the north of the apron, and others adjacent to the road between the two. The runway is just under 6,500 feet with approach lights at both ends and ILS on 04 (true heading of 75 degrees). This scenery reflects the overall situation in 2011 and oil production facilities and buildings are included here. The airport buildings and those close to the airport are replicas of the real life buildings; while as distance increases the accuracy fades somewhat there are everywhere replica trucks and cross country vehicles that are true to life. Deadhorse handles around 7,000 passengers per month as staff are rotated in and out on Alaska Air and ERA flights and by oil company private flights. There are also freight flights to complement the trucking effort up the Dalton Highway. The Alaska Airlines terminal building and ERA (the red buildings nearby) are at one end of the apron, while at the other end is a very large and new green terminal, storage, hangar building built by the airport authority. All of the airport components, runways, taxiways, and aprons, are built up on a gravel base to raise them above the surrounding terrain that floods with melting snow, freezes, or dries out, according to the seasons. There are other new airstrips included here that serve the oil industry. Around 33 miles to the east is Badami PABP airport servicing a subsiduary oil producing area, with 5,000 feet of gravel runway. Some 28 miles to the west of Deadhorse is Ugnu-Kuparuk UBW with just over 6,000 feet of gravel (gravel in 2011, it is now asphalted) servicing oil production by Conoco Phillips, which uses 737's to fly staff in and out. A further 32 miles west is Alpine AK15 with 5,400 feet of gravel and also served by the Conoco Phillips 737's. To the south of Alpine and connected by road is the village of Nuiqsut. To the north of Alpine and reachable only by air in the delta of the Sagavanirktok River is CD-3, an oil collection and pump station area with another gravel runway of 3,000 feet. Other airstrips that were prviously posted are now updated, Nuiqsut and Oliktok. I experimented, but decided against trying to reproduce the several hundred miles of pipelines. The are new AI aircraft, and there are notes regarding downloading. There is a new "cement" texture (not its name, but used as that by SBuilder) for the built up gravel bases. It is slightly darker than the original but not so much that any previous use will be spoilt. You may wish to download my "Alaska Frozen Rivers and Lakes" which freezes lakes and the northern sea and makes them landable on wheels.

Start at your Designated Airport, [in this case London Gatwick,Innsbruck,Dublin or Edinburgh in a 737], then Goto any Airport! - via the FS9 World menu and return to the Original Designated Airport - every time! - By Just turning the GPS/nav switch to GPS and Flight Director and autothrottle on whilst still on the ground.Click on the Autopilot and Nav Hold switch once above 1000ft - thats it !! . Set Weather as required and dont forget Altitude and Speed in autopilot and away you go. Use the FS9 ATC as You Travel, call into designated Airport when close and receive the curent ATIS and Runway approach in use. HAVE FUN. (This is different to the great circle direct routes that you can programme into the very good FS9 GPS - each and every time you start from a new airport). As A bonus you can also use the designated flight files provided to take of and circle your Airport, using autopilot again with GPS/nav switch on gps setting and nav hold switch on. This is a good way to observe the airfield and your aircraft especially from tower view - set tower position using map window and pointing and dragging tower icon also set the tower altitude. Some Example flights worded "AJT Circuit of......." are also enclosed.- these particular flights can make good moving screen savers!
