CFS2 Grumman TBF-1c Avenger (Tarpon Mk. Ic) 2P JZ165 852nd NAS (RN FAA). HMS Trumpeter - RAF Fleet Air Arm. Painted over The B24 Guy's TBF Avenger OH Model. During the summer of 1944, this aircraft operated with the 852nd from the HMS Trumpeter in the North Atlantic. From April of 1943 until January of 1944, the TBFs/TBMs of the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm went by the British name of "Tarpon," and then reverted back to the American name "Avenger." cfs2/Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat Mk-I RAF A-W Serial #JV-105. Fleet Air Arm. Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhaul Model. Note black and white invasion stripes on fuselage and upper and lower main wing surfaces. Code letters are red, outlined in white. This paint is indicative to the aircraft of the 800 NAS flown from the HMS Emperor in 1944; however, there is no data to back up any authenticity of any aircraft ever adorned in this paint. cfs2/Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat Mk-I RAF E-L Serial #JV-131.The Jv-131 was a Grumman Hellcat Mk-I (originally to have been Gannet Mk-I) of the Fleet Air Arm, corresponding to the F6F3. This aircraft was probably with the 800 NAS aboard the HMS Emperor on September 10, 1945 when the carrier sailed into Singapore harbor to restore British rule. Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhaul Model. Note black and white invasion stripes on fuselage and upper and lower main wing surfaces. Code letters are red, outlined in white.
