This A/C No. 4M, FN802 served with the 846th NAS on anti-submarine patrol, and was aboard the HMS Tracker during combat deployment in the North Atlantic campaign of 1944. CFS2 Grumman TBF-1c Avenger (Tarpon Mk. Ic) 2P JZ165 852nd NAS (RN FAA). HMS Trumpeter - RAF Fleet Air Arm. Painted over The B24 Guy's TBF Avenger OH Model. During the summer of 1944, this aircraft operated with the 852nd from the HMS Trumpeter in the North Atlantic. From April of 1943 until January of 1944, the TBFs/TBMs of the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm went by the British name of "Tarpon," and then reverted back to the American name "Avenger."
