Demoversion with banners, new VOR gauge, with new PANEL and GAUGES, new external model, sound and virtuall cockpit. The Airbus A380 is a doubledecker, four-engined airliner manufactured by Airbus S.A.S. It first flew on April 27, 2005 from Toulouse, France. Commercial flights should begin in 2006 after 15 months of testing. During much of ist development, the aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX. The A380 is now the largest passenger airliner, topping the Boeing 747, which was the largest for 35 years. However, the Antonov An-225 retains the record of being the world's largest commercial aircraft. The media has termed the A380 a "superjumbo", with some comparing it to Howard Hughes's Spruce Goose. The first A380 prototype was unveiled during a ceremony in Toulouse, France, on January 18, 2005. Its manufacturer's serial number is 001, and is registered as F-WWOW. The new Airbus will initially be sold in two versions: the A380-800, carrying 555 passengers in a three-class configuration or up to 800 passengers in a single-class economy configuration. Expected range for the -800 model is 8,000 nautical miles (14,800 km). The second model, the A380-800F dedicated freighter, will carry 150 tons of cargo 5,600 miles (10,400 km). Airbus made the cockpit layout, procedures and handling characteristics similar to those of other Airbus aircraft to reduce crew training costs. File Description:
Located 01 miles E of West Milford, New Jersey on 150 acres of land, Greenwood Lake Airport is a public asphalt strip that services small to medium GA air traffic. The second runway that used to be there has been re-paved and now serves as extra aircraft parking. You can park anywhere on the closed runway, along the edge of the main tarmac where the terminal building is, or between any two white cones (50 foot max wingspan) that mark tie-down locations in the middle of the main tarmac. A helicopter start is provided as well. For parking, Small GA spaces are for craft with wingspans of less than 50 feet; Medium GA spaces are for craft with wingspans from 50-60 feet. The glide slope for Runway 24 has been adjusted up from 3.5 degrees to 4 degrees as in real life the runway sits higher than the ground the trees grow from so this will give you proper clearance on approach. Fuel is available by stopping near the tank on the main tarmac. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

| Nanisivik CYSR and Arctic Bay CJX7 in Nunavut, Canada |

Nanisivik is an airfield in the north of Baffin Island, 470 miles north of the Arctic circle. It was built to service a zinc and lead mine that was opened in 1976 as Canada's first Arctic mine, now closed and dismantled. The deep water Strathcona Sound has been ear-marked by the Canadian government for development as a naval base, so I have left the large ore storage shed and the jetty in place. The airfield is at 2,106 feet on the top of the Borden Peninsula hills with a lighted 6,400 feet of 150 feet wide gravel runway runway aligned 11/29. There is a terminal and other maintenance buildings, and First Air have a building there from when the mine generated a lot of traffic and jets were used. Arctic Bay is a village 11 miles west of Nanisivik airfield with a population of around 690 which also uses the Nanisivik airfield. There is another gravel strip much closer to the village that is called Arctic Bay CJX7, but this is smaller with only 1,500' of 50' wide gravel and has no facilities of any sort. The village is partly dependent on visiting sports hunters and other limited tourist visits. At almost 73 degrees north the average year will have only four or even three months where the average high is above freezing. The buildings on the field have been modelled specifically for this scenery, and as in real life there is only JetA available. The AI visiting aircraft are a Kenn Borek Twin Otter and a First Air 42-300. As Nanisivik is in the "Northern Domestic Airspace" the runway is signed in "true" bearings and not magnetic as magnetic compasses become unreliable close to the magnetic pole.

| Kuujjuarapik CYGW in northern Quebec, Canada |

Kuujjuarapik is in northern Quebec at the southern end of Hudson Bay, 90 miles east of James Bay and on the north shore of the Great Whale River; Kuujjuarapik means Small Great River in Inuktitut. Once again the Hudson Bay trading post that opened (in 1820) was the catalyst for the establishment of first a seasonal encampment and then the beginnings of a town in the late 1930's.
The two adjacent villages that now form the town have a total population (mainly Cree and Inuit) of around 1,500. When the Quebec hydo-electric project was under construction in the early 1980's a large portion of the Inuit population voted to move to a new settlement called Umiujaq (my post) 100 miles to the north.
The airport is to the west of the town, between the town and the sea. The gravel and sand runway (which I have made as gravel as there is no convincing way to mix the two) is 5,500 feet long, 150 feet wide, and aligned 17/35, which is approximately parallel to the coast. There is fuel available, both 100LL and JetA, delivered by truck. The AI included here is for Air Inuit and Wasaya, with Air Inuit making three flights per day plus a fourth flight by the Air Inuit Twotter C-GNDO that is based at the airport, and private flights by various aircraft. Yes, there really is a golf course to the south of the airport, and the last thing to note is that Kuujjuarapik has a mandatory radio frequency and that taking into consideration the scheduled flights I have included the tower radio frequency that makes this a controlled airport in FS9.

| Tuktoyaktuk CYUB in Northwest Territories, Canada |

Tuktoyaktuk is on the northern coast of Canada, 70 miles north of Inuvik and to the east of the Mackenzie River delta. It has a population of around 900 and because of its natural harbour is a centre for oil exploration activity on the surrounding land and on the Beaufort Sea, with sizeable but now under-used yards dating back to the peak of activity in the late 1970's. On land work is restricted to the winter half of the year, as only the freeze-up makes it possible to move on land with heavy equipment, and during the winter further supples are driven over an ice road from Inuvik up to Tuk. The ice-free summer months are used for floating equipment from Yuk along the coast on barges and then up the rivers to inland sites in preparation for the winter activity. Before the oil there was a DEW line station here, and there is still an automated station on the same site and included here, as are the yards. The airfield is on the coast close to the town and the yards, at 15' ASL. The gravel runway 09/27 is 5,000' feet long and 150' wide; both thresholds are displaced by 200', but of course there are no markings on the gravel. The large apron is on the north side at the centre of the runway and is large enough to accomodate several large planes. Inuvik revised should be installed first, now Tuk, then last of the three Sachs Harbour which has AI for Aklak Airlines flights (operated by Kenn Borek) for all three airfields. There is a separate AI file included here, featuring freight delivery by Buffalo Airways and small planes.

Anticosti Island is in the Gulf of St Lawrence, around 25 miles off the Quebec mainland coast. It is some 40 miles wide and 130 miles long on an east west axis. There are few urban areas and only one that can be described as a small town, namely Port Menier at the western end of the southern coast, with a population of under 1,000. There is a ferry service to the harbour. The airport, Port Menier CYPN, is around 3 miles northeast of the town, with an asphalt runway aligned 11-28, 4,875 feet long and 150 feet wide with PAPI at each end. In 2010 (the approximate date of this scenery) a gravel runway was still visible at the eastern end of the field. This was no longer in use by 2010, except perhaps by small planes on skis in the winter. The island, with its small population, small urban area, and no industry other than logging, has as a result a mainly undisturbed wildlife population. This has made deer hunting and fishing the main tourist activities, with one company (called Safari) having an exclusive licence to exploit large areas of mountains and rivers. Planeloads of hunters and fishermen are flown in on chartered Nolinor Aviation planes from the south. There are a further two airfields in the eastern end of the island, and in 2010 Rivere-Aux-Saumons CTH7 had a 5,500 feet gravel runway, linked by road to a lodge area at the mouth of the river. This is the only lodge area that I have been able to locate, but there are others. To the south Riviere Bell CRB5 had at that time a gravel runway that was 3,000 feet long. The town of Kenai is on the east coast of Cook Inlet, 60 miles southwest of Anchorage. The airport is in the northern part of the town, with a runway aligned 1-19, 7,550 feet long and 150 feet wide (with an ILS on 19). A second runway is gravel, 2,000 feet long and for winter use by ski planes. There is also a water runway, and all three are aligned the same and called "1 left-19 right" (the main runway) "1 right-19 left" (gravel) and "1 water-19 water". The taxiways are extensive and designed for a far larger traffic than the airport has today, though even now the airport is fairly busy. In FS9 a water runway for AI cannot work with an ATC control tower; the water part of PAEN has therefore been separated into another call sign PAEX which has ONLY the water runway; the tower will therefore direct the plane that makes contact to use the water runway. The PAEN airport runway has taxiway connections at each end and also two intermediates; at the northern end there are in fact two so a total of 5; B, C, D, E, and F; there is an airport diagram included. GA traffic goes to one of two parking aprons, both at the southern end, and at the far southern end there is the hangar for the Civil Air Patrol. The AI includes aircraft from my previous Alaska posts, as Kenai is where I sent them when they departed from, for instance, Palmer. Airlines and cargo companies that operate from and to Kenai are included in the AI: ERA (which has recently changed it's name), Grant Aviation, Air North, Wings of Alaska, North Star Air, and a small local company Air Supply Alaska, along with Fedex, UPS, Everts, and Northern Air Cargo. There is also GA and float AI. Nearby smaller airfields are included, partly because one of them was dramatically misaligned in FS9.

These are four airfields around or near Lake Athabasca, in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Fort Chipewyan CYPY is at the southwestern end of the lake and the direct recipient of pollution that flows north from the Tar Sands to the south. The population of around 850 lives in one of the earliest European settlements in Alberta, founded as a trading post by Peter Pond of the Northwest Company in 1788 and named for the Chipewyan people who lived in the area. The airfield has one runway aligned 03-21 and 5,000 feet of asphalt, with PAPI at both ends. The landclass has been modified along with the grassed area of the airfield to create the village on the lakeshore. There are scheduled flights and GA flights in the AI for all four airfields. Charlot River CJP9 is on the northern shore at the western end of the lake, in Saskatchewan. It serves a nearby hydroelectric project and is used to transport technical staff in and out. There is no terminal building, only waiting pickup trucks and a generator building. There is one lit gravel runway aligned 04-22 and just over 3,200 feet long. Fond-du-Lac CZFD is on the northern shore in Saskatchewan, at the narrower eastern end. The population is around 900 and is a remotely situated "fly-in" village that has existed for over 150 years where "living off the land" is an accepted and normal way of life. The village has been created along with the airfield. The single runway is 3,800 feet of lit gravel aligned 10-28 with PAPI at the western end. Stony Rapids CYSF is east of the end of Lake Athabasca, on the Fond du Lac River. It has a population of around 250 and is only semi-connected to the rest of Canada by a rough gravel road. The runway is over 5,000 feet of gravel, aligned 06-24 with PAPI at both ends. The NorthSKlake is a flatten for an Ultimate Terrain lake that was at an incorrect elevation.

Dawson Creek is at 2,148 feet asl just east of the Rocky Mountains, less than 10 miles west of the BC/Alberta border. The Peace River, 25 miles north of Dawson Creek, links the two sides of the Rockies, winding through peaks that reach up almost to 8,000 feet. The population grew when the Northern Alberta Railway was extended to Dawsons Creek in 1932, and grew even more more when the Alaska Highway was built in 1942 and Dawsons Creek was where it started from. The airport is just to the east of the town. The runway is 5,000 feet of wide asphalt (150 feet) aligned 06/24, lit, and with PAPI and approach lights. There is a water runway to the north of the main runway with the same alignment, separately designated as Dawson Creek CBD3. The two operate as one; traffic for both use the mandatory frequency of 122.2 and talk to one controller in one control tower. However, in FS9 the ATC for two separately designated airfields operates as if they are nowhere near each other and near misses are the result. I have put them both in un-manned tower mode so you will announce your position and intentions and select your own parking spots etc. There is in reality a lack of apron markings but I have marked the positions of both gates. The apron is not large so there is only one other apron parking spot (see the traffic cone) and most parking is either next to one of the hangars or on the grass. The aprons vary from asphalt, to concrete, onwards to gravel, and then further onwards to some gravel amid the bare dirt; I have replicated this variation as far as FS9 permits. The buildings are bespoke from photos. The AI includes Central Mountain Air with two daily scheduled flights and Northern Cariboo as one of the airlines that occasionally runs charter flights in CYDQ. There are also private GA flights, and float plane flights into and out of CBD3.

There are four main northwestern Alaska towns which are serviced by Alaska Airlines, and from which local flights spread out. The northernmost is Barrow. Southwest of Barrow is Kotzebue, then Nome, and the furthest south is Bethel (not yet made). This is a continuation of the series for the flights from Kotzebue, 170 miles to the east where Kobuk is on the bank of the Kobuk River, and Dahl Creek is 2 miles to the north. Kobuk is a small village on the Kobuk River, like Ambler and Shungnak, but with a population of only around 150. The river is the reason for the existance of the villages as it served (and still does) as both a source of food and a transport route. The airfield is just beside the village, with a runway around 4,500 feet of lit gravel and aligned 09-27, with PAPI on both ends. There are scheduled flights by Era (now renamed Ravn) and by Bering Air, both of them originating in Kotzebue and routing east to Ambler, Shungnak, Kobuk, and then back again. The AI includes these flights along with Everts Air and GA. The FS9 airfield has been relocated by approximately a mile to the correct position, and the elevation accordingly adjusted. The Dahl Creek strip is publicly owned, with no maintenance and a deteriorating gravel runway that has not long to survive. This probably does not work properly without Ultimate Terrain Alaska Canada as the village is now on the river bank. I am presuming that you have downloaded and installed Nome PAOM, along with the instructions on how to adjust Ultimate Terrain Alaska Canada to get the most realistic results. If you are not making the UT adjustments then you may be seeing duplicated roads, as I am including new local dirt or gravel roads to connect village to airfield etc to get the best overall result; I will not be making alternate versions.
