YTTI Troughton Island - ShoreAir operates Troughton Island airstrip as an alternate to Mungalalu-Truscott. It has a 980m x 30m unsealed runway. Troughton Island sits 6 metres above sea level on a natural reef. Troughton is managed by two people who spend one month at a time on the island. During that time they are almost completely isolated from the outside world. Although they are isolated they are not alone; previous occupants of the island brought in quails and children's pythons that were once pets that escaped their cages during a cyclone. Now there is a healthy population of snakes living off the quails. Today Troughton Island is maintained as an emergency landing area for aircraft that are unable to reach Truscott. It also serves as a landing area if Truscott is inaccessible due to weather conditions. The Bureau of Meteorology has a weather station on Troughton island. Mungalalu-Truscott aerodrome supports all the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading facility) operations in the WA and NT waters of the Timor Sea, while the alternate aerodrome at Troughton Island is 20 nautical miles north of the main air route to Timor Sea facilities. This FSX Airport is more then just a AFX style Airport. As most know the Approach and Final (VMC) for AI Traffic in FSX is a straight in type landing and does not always consider high terrain at airports. This is due to the way that the coding is written in FSX and it puts limits on IFR arriving aircraft. At certain airports the AI Traffic will fly directly through a mountain once it is established on Final for a runway. What you will see with my files is a different type approach used for both the way I control AI and User Airplane Traffic in FSX. No longer do the AI Planes use a straight in approach when landing at LOWI. My AI Aircraft Approach coding for FSX uses a visual offset approach so AI Traffic does not fly through the mountains. The Innsbruck Control Tower will clear all AI Traffic (IFR FP) landing either on RWY 08 or 26 as a straight in landing even though the offset to final is 30 degrees from the runway center line. | F/A18 Hornet |

File Description:
The F/A-18 Hornet is an all-weather aircraft used as an attack aircraft as well as a fighter. It was designed to replace both the A-7 Corsair in the light ground attack role, and the F-4 Phantom which operated in both the air defense and ground attack roles. It compliments the F-14 Tomcat and can be operated from forward airstrips for the U.S. Marine Corps. In the fighter mode, the F/A-18 is used primarily as a fighter escort and for fleet air defense; in the attack mode, it is used for force projection, interdiction and close and deep air support. The F/A-18 currently equips the majority of Navy and Marine fighter-attack squadrons and will ultimately replace the F-14 Tomcat as it has the F-4 Phantom, the A-4 Skyhawk and the A-7 Corsair II. The Blue Angels flight demonstration team has used the F/A-18 since 1987. The final Hornet to be built was rolled out of Boeing's facility at Patuxent River, Maryland, in August 2000. Over 1,400 Hornets were built and over 1,200 are now flying in fifty-five active duty, reserve and test squadrons, as well as in seven foreign countries.

The ARX-5X (Concept 5) is a single-seat unlimited category aerobatic aircraft built around the 495c.i. 600hp Trace-Orenda OE600 V-8 aircraft engine and designed specifically for freestyle airshow type aerobatics.
Version 2 has a totally new airfile and flight dynamics - the plane can easily handle compulsory competition maneuvers as well as more advanced gyroscopic maneuvers such as lomcovaks and tumbles.
The ARX-5X cruises around 200kts, with a never-exceed speed of 240kts. This FSX native model contains animations, reflections, environment mapping, spec mapping and a full dynamic virutal cockpit. Although it is not a real aircraft it does have several real-world components such as the Chelton Fligh Systems EAU (engine airdata unit) display, and a Hartzell "scimitar" swept blade propeller.
This release is not a quick & dirty update simply "ported" into FSX, it is a full FSX rebuild by the original authors, compiled with XtoMDL and conforming the FSX SDK using dds textures and new modeling techniques for the best overall end-user performance. Includes 2 configs, 7 models, and 20 schemes with a custom smoke system and night time pyrotechnic effects. Aircraft, effects, and panel by Jason L. Terry and Mike VIvaldi. Aditional Skins by Brady Duros and Joshua B. Nyhus.

I discovered, while testing another airfield near the Mackenzie River, that along the side of the Mackenzie adjacent to Tulita, and for a considerable distance, there was a cliff of water. I have no idea if my version of Ultimate Terrain has developed a fault or if this has been caused by the installation of a terrain mesh that now argues with UT for some unknown reason. Whatever, it was impossible to leave it as it was. I have included a screenshot of the cliff further upstream. To avoid the cliff of water I have flattened that area of the Mackenzie River and the adjacent river banks and both the town and the airfield to a height above sea level of 400 feet. This does not reflect the real life situation but is the lesser of two optical evils. I have included a screenshot of the flattened area. If you do not have a problem then you do not need this. If you too have a cliff of water then you might want to try this. It does not completely get rid of the problem, but it does get rid of it in the area visible when landing or taking off at Tulita.

File Description:
New London Airport (FAA LID: W90) is a public-use airport located six miles (10 km) southwest of the central business district of Forest, a town in Bedford County, Virginia, United States. It is privately owned by Associated Wheels Inc. It is a public airport, but usually involves GA aircraft only. On Sundays during the summer and early fall, the runway is used as a dragstrip. Originally built in 1957 as a 1/4 mile dragstrip, airport operations were added in 1961 and the facility has served a dual-purpose since. Having been under the continued guidance of Rucker Tibbs, the airport changed hands in December 2005. Changes were made based on Google Maps. Created with Airport Design Editor by ScruffyDuck Software using current FAA documentation and Google Earth measurements, this package offers a replacement for FSX's stock airport. All these enhancements are as close to the real airport as I can get with stock library objects and custom buildings.

Brand new (and an improvement over the last MH retro livery I did) retro livery for Malaysia Airlines. MH is currently painting a 747-400 in a retro livery. The aircraft the livery is being applied on is 9M-MPP. The latest news is MH is to re-activate the 747-400s back to service and use them as a substitute aircraft for the A380s when they undergo routine maintenance. As LHR is now the only scheduled A380 route for MH, when one of their A380s goes offline, LHR can be sure to hope a 744 comes to replace it. In terms of cabin fixtures, a new cabin is being fitted alongside this livery on par with the A380. This in fact will be the second 747-400 painted in a dedicated retro livery and the third 747 to be receive such a livery. The first was Thai HS-TGP. Textures only, you will need the payware PMDG 747-400X model for this repaint to work.

Guizhou Observatory Cina N25.39.10 E106.51.23. The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope Cina, is a radio telescope located in the Dawodang depression, a natural basin in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province, southwest China. It consists of a fixed 500 m (1,600 ft) diameter dish constructed in a natural depression in the landscape. It is the world's largest filled-aperture radio telescope, and the second-largest single-dish aperture after the sparsely-filled RATAN-600 in Russia (soon to be realized). It has a novel design, using an active surface made of metal panels that can be tilted by a computer to help change the focus to different areas of the sky. The cabin containing the feed antenna suspended on cables above the dish is also moved using a digitally-controlled winch by the computer control system to steer the instrument to receive from different directions. Important VFR point.

| Southeast Farallon Islands Version 2 |

File Description:
SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCED UPGRADE OF PRIOR VERSION. These islands were mysteriously absent from the FS2004 default scenery, probably owing to their small size. When I went to look for them I found a small mountain of water instead of the islands. Most people don't seem to be aware of the Farallon Islands. Located off the coast of California, near San Francisco, they are home to thousands of birds, seals, and some of the largest Great White sharks known to man. All of this is within a very short distance of the city. Today, it is a wildlife refuge and is off limits to visitation by the general public. Those of you interested in more info might check out "The Devil's Teeth" by Susan Casey. This island is actually a scenery object. As such it doesn't have a landable surface. Future versions will have a helicopter pad, a lighthouse, and the 100 year old houses used by researchers.

It has been a few years since my last visit to Nepal/Himalaya, amazing place - amazing airfields. Hoping to give you a small taste of the real
adventure of flying there I created This FP which contains the following six short routes east of Kathmandu:
Kathmandu - Lukla - Rumjatar - Lamidada - Bhojpur - Tumlingtar - Kathmandu.The runways (except Kathmandu) are all grass/dust, although i think
that Lukla gots an asphalt one by now.I have used A Beechcraft King Air 350 plane, weather clear, 12.00' local time, visibility 48Km/30 mi.
If you want to try it hard (i am sure you do so after a while) change the weather conditions to storm/heavy storm.
Included -in friendly printable version- six images as well (one for each flight) which contains a map view and a Navigation log as layedout at fs, so
that you can have the hands on the stik all time and enjoy the flights without a stop.
