File Description:
Cape Dorset is a village of 1,300 or so inhabitants at N 64 13 W 76 31 on Dorset Island, off the southwest corner of Baffin Island. It's Inuit name is Kinngait, which means "High Mountains"; watch out if you fly there in low clouds. The village (again) does not feature in FS9 but is included in this scenery with approximately the right shape, or shapes as there are separate parts. The airfield runway is just under 4,000 feet of gravel 100 feet wide at 158 feet above sea level. There is a double gradient to it, but unfortunately this cannot be replicated in FS.
Cape Dorset had a Hudson Bay Company store as long ago as 1913, and is now known as a centre for Inuit art. I added the roads, a new airfield background, a pond between apron and runway, plus of course there is the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI, which has two planes visiting, a First Air HS748 and a Canadian North Dash 8-100, as per real life.

The Airbus A330 is a twin-engined wide-body Airbus A340 and is a four-engined wide-body aircraft produced by AirbusIndustries. Both models have many features and components, and differ essentially only by the number of trie works. You are designed as long-haul aircraft. Both aircraft have modern turbofan engines with high bypass ratio and are the first Flight course with a modern fly-by-wire controls in a two-man cockpit. The first flight of 4 four-engine A340-300 version took place on 25 October 1991 and the twin-engine A330-300 version took place on 2 November 1992. Final assembly of the Airbus A330 and A340 in Toulouse by place on a street clock. As of July 2010 from the Airbus A330 were a total of 710 of 1092 aircraft ordered and delivered from the Airbus A340 delivered a total of 374 of 380 of the aircraft ordered, 369 of which are still in service are. The airport was based on a Google Earth photo, and the buildings are not 100% accurate, but are reasonably accurately placed and should give a good feel for the airport.

Historically this his represents a period at the airport in its GA heyday before Heli One and the new terminal building went up cica 2007-2009, from when McLeod Aviation was still in the big hanger and there were plenty of small flying Schools about, to when the new Alpha Aviation building went up.
There is a fuel truck, a single small gate area for commercial flights (even though there is none in reality) and various static items around the field, including the old white dome hangars down the East end of the field (where I used to keep my plane. Watch out for a surprise if you are taxiing out to 25 or 30!

File Description:
This is the fourth in a series of new and renovated float bases in BC. Health Bay is a small village on the west coast of Gilford Island, just 13 miles northwest of Minstrel Island (the previous post in this series). There is no fuel or oil available. The AI is a further adaptation of the original CF36 AI and involves a Baxter Beaver flying from Port Hardy on a round trip in the area through Port McNeill, Health Bay, Echo Bay, and Sullivan Bay. At Health Bay the AI appears to work for both landing and takeoff, though landing will still depend on wind direction. I have played with circuit height and runway length at Minstrel Island and there are improvements, so there is a Minstrel Island replacement bgl. All of these float bases can be installed together in the same folders, with a saving in duplicate textures. So a series called BC Floats (or whatever you want to call it) or individually installed float bases; your choice. The next in the series will be Echo Bay, shown in an included screenshot.

Alaska Air Group owns a small fleet of CRJ-700 aircraft, which were formerly operated by Horizon Air but now have been leased out to to SkyWest and operated as part of a capacity purchase agreement. With Horizon switching to an all Q400 fleet, these CRJs are only used on longer thinner routes up where a turboprop would not be as fast or efficient, but a 737 provides too much capacity. Painted on the great Project Opensky model. Enjoy!

Beynac France N44.50.49 E1.8.77 is a small known for its medieval, austere castle, perched on top of a limestone cliff dominating the small town on the right bank of Burgundy. Château de Beynac has the shape of an irregular quadrilateral, south extended by a rocky bastion. The dongion, surmounted by merlature dates back to the 13th century. Protected by a double walled wall, the castle overlooks the Dordogne, which runs 150 meters further down. Important VFR point.

This is a fictional repaint of the payware PMDG 737-600 NGX as a 737-500 NGX in LOT Polish Airlines colors (SP-LKF). You must own PMDG 737 NGX aircraft, and the 600/700 Expansion Pack for the aircraft in order to install this livery. The download contains just the livery and can be installed using the PMDG Livery Manager. It will load in the -600 section because it's basically a -600 with a -500 livery. Enjoy!

Strange registration history this. In October 2006 VH-SGW belonged to our P28 180. On the 29yh Sept 2007 it was on a Cessna 208 and on the 30th Sept it adorned a Robinson R22 helicopter! Go figure! Info courtesy Vataware. Thanks to A2A for yet another top notch sim aircraft. Be sure your copy is a 'paid for' version. If it's not, you will disappear in a cloud of smoke....And you won't be missed!
