Googlyafcad A&F Data file for Ketchikan International based on Google Earth satellite
data - a small but relatively busy airport located in one of the wettest parts of
Alaska, USA. Ketchikan is Alaska's fifth largest city, with its economy based on
salmon fishing.
For some curious reason the facilities provided in Flight Simulator 2004 omit a crucial
taxiway at the west end of the airport, causing all traffic to taxi from the opposite
end. These files redress this issue, and also provide realistic levels of parking for
commercial and general aviation traffic, allowing you and your "AI" traffic to land,
taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. The layout has been cunningly designed
to fit both with the Flight Simulator default scenery and version 2 of Alan Wright's
enhanced scenery (paktv2.zip on AVSIM) and is compatible with both in every respect.
Apart from conventional and water-based general aviation aircraft Ketchikan International
is regularly served by commercial flights of Alaska Airlines and by smaller operators
such as Alaska Central Express, Everts Air Alaska and LAB Flying Service. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

File Description:
This Mystic Rock Resort (Mystic Rocks Nat'l Monument) is fictitious and located 35 miles west of Ketchikan, Alaska. It's main attraction are the huge rocks left here some 2.6 million years ago, when glaciers covered the northern hemisphere - as the glaciers moved south they brought these rocks more than 600 miles leaving them at their current locations.
The resort has a water runway and helipad, two start locations, an NDB (ADF) frequency of 302.0 and many, many attractions. Your visit may lead to running tours by helo or small float plane to these geological wonders. Designed with a clean FSX installation and to enhance your FS world. Everts Air Alaska is a privately held corporation including sister companys Everts Air Cargo and Everts Air Fuel. Based in Fairbanks, Everts is the last operator of the venerable Douglas DC6/C118 and provides services throughout the interior of Alaska. In addition, Everts operates at least two Curtis C46s in daily operations. Everts has purchased all available DC6s, C118s, and C119s to use as parts for the DC6s. With the supply of spares, Everts figures that the DC6s will be in operation until 2015. Flights taken from FlightAware for the week of 25-31 July, 2010, and includes all flights. Everts also recently purchased three DC9-33Fs from ABX to use in their operations. Though, these aircraft have yet to enter service, N932AX has been painted in full Everts livery.

File Description:
Merrill Field is in Anchorage Alaska, between Anchorage International to the southwest and and Elmendorf Air Force Base to the north. It caters for general aviation and is the land equivalent of the Lake Hood float plane base (see my post) with fuel and numerous maintenance facilities, and several hundred parking spots for small planes. There are three runways, and the longest is 4,000 feet of 100 feet wide asphalt, the second 2,635 feet of asphalt 75 feet wide, and the third 2,000 feet of 60 feet wide gravel. It is a controlled airfield with a modern control tower. There are almost 50 buildings on the field and three quarters of them have been modeled specifically for this scenery. The download includes a LITE version for older computers as there are a lot of static parked aircraft.
