File Description: This patch includes a file that I forgot to include in the original release of Springhill for FSX (springhill.zip). If your Springhill is sitting in a large trench, you will need to include this flatten- See the Readme for installation instructions.

File Description: Whakatane Airport (ICAO: NZWK) is a small airport serving the town of Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. It consists of a Asphalt runway flanked with a parallel grass strip and a helipad. While not a particularly busy aerodrome, there are daily movements by Air New Zealand/Eagle Airways Beech 1900Ds, general aviation movements including agricultural aircraft, training flights from the flight school and scenic flights to White Island off the coast of the Bay of Plenty.
Of particular interest is the main terminal, designed by Roger Walker in the modernist style. It has survived in its original form since its construction in the 1970’s and gives a cheerful welcome to visitors disembarking to discover the many natural and cultural attractions in the region.
This particular airport is of interest to me as I began my real world flying training there originally with Scott Air and later with Air Discovery (www.airdiscovery.co.nz) As well as flight training, they also fly scenic tours of White Island and Mount Tarawera.
This Scenery Features: High resolution 10cm imagery for the airport including night map, Custom made buildings including night lighting and window reflections, extensive trees and grass.

File Description: Whale Island (Maori Name: Moutohora) is a small island located off the Bay of Plenty coast of New Zealand's North Island. It is located about 12 kilometers north of the town of Whakatane. A whaling station existed on the island during the 19th century. The 1.43 km island is a remnant of a complex volcano which has eroded, leaving two peaks. This is still an area of volcanic activity and there are hot springs on the island in Sulphur Valley, McEwans Bay, and Sulphur Bay.
This Hi Resolution scenery was created from a 0.25m pixel resolution Ortho-rectified Aerial mosaic owned by Environment Bay of Plenty (The Bay of Plenty Regional Council) and flown in 2007. The imagery has been slightly de-sampled for use in Flight Simulator X and utilizes the a custom hi resolution 5m Mesh derived from photogrammetry data off the photos. The textures are intended for summer daylight flying only, although due to the evergreen nature of New Zealand's native bush, the Islands appearance remains relatively constant throughout the year.
The island contains a small helicopter pad which is used for checking the various radio antennas on the Island. There is also a small Department of Conservation hut near the south western tip of the Island. These objects have been added from the FSX library of objects. Make sure to turn up your graphics sliders to make the most of this data! To find the Island fly north from Whakatane airport.

The imagery has been de-sampled for use in Flight Simulator X and utilizes the default terrain mesh. The textures are intended for summer daylight flying only, although due to the sparse nature of White Islands' Evegetation, the Islands appearance remains relatively consistent throughout the year.
It includes autogen trees, a landable helicopter pad on the top of the Island, Radio masts, and the Department of Conservation (DOC) hut in the south western bay of the island.

File Description: This is the second of four photoreal scenery releases covering the main offshore islands in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
This scenery was created from a scanned aerial photograph owned by Environment Bay of Plenty (The Bay of Plenty Regional Council). The imagery has been de-sampled for use in Flight Simulator X and utilizes the default terrain mesh. The textures are intended for summer daylight flying only, although due to the sparse nature of White Islands’ vegetation, the Islands appearance remains relatively consistent throughout the year.
It includes Steam, autogen objects (including a library object which vaguely resembles the abandoned Sulphur works) and animated birds.
