Williams Lake CYWL Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Founded in 1860, Williams Lake is located in the beautiful central British Columbia region known as the Cariboo. With a population of about 11,000, Williams Lake is the largest urban center between Kamloops and Prince George. The airport has one 7,000' (2,100m) runway and is served by Central Mountain Air and Pacific Coastal Airways. This complete rebuild of CYWL features all new taxiways, aprons and buildings, an accurate custom terminal building, and the usual fences, trees, ramp objects, etc. Many thanks to Shawn Lund, Air Attack Officer, BC Wildfire Management Branch, Kamloops Fire Centre, for the photos of the terminal building and his permission to use them. Included are the Nav Canada aerodrome diagram and the two instrument approach plates. (These approach plates are out of date and obviously NOT for real world use.) This scenery was designed for use with Ultimate Terrain and was not tested in the default scenery. It may or may not work in FSX.

File Description:
FS2004 Scenery - Offutt Air Force Base (Offutt AFB, KOFF) is a U.S. Air Force installation near Omaha in Sarpy County, Nebraska. It is the headquarters of the U.S. Strategic Command, the Air Force Weather Agency, and the 55th Wing. World Trade Center Twin Towers (Textures Only) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
World Trade Center Twin Towers Textures - Only for Use With Tatu Kantomaa's New York City Objects.

These are Textures Only! You must either have Tatu Kantomaa's New York City Objects scenery installed or you must download and install His scenery to use my textures (full details on file location in readme). This is my way of rebuilding the Twin Towers and now they can Live again within the World of Flight Simulation.

Special Thanks To Tatu Kantomaa for granting me permission to upload these WTC texture modifications for use with His Great scenery "New York City Objects". His excellent scenery really improves NYC in FS9 with many other buildings created at a very high level of quality. Both North and South Tower Helipads are landable. You will find the Towers Glow with the color of the sunset so Dusk flights are very special when combined with My custom WTC night lighting. Please see Read Me file for more important information.

Quaqtaq CYHA in Hudson Strait, Quebec, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Quaqtaq is a small village of 310 or so inhabitants at N 61 W 69 37 on the Hudson Strait at the northwest corner of Ungava Bay. It's name has some connection with "tapeworm" in Inuit; there is a story but I won't recount it here. The village does not feature in FS9 but is included in this scenery with approximately the right shape. No village buildings were specifically modeled; they are hand-made non-specific village houses typical of the north. The airfield runway is 3,520 feet of gravel 100 feet wide and is at 103 feet above the shoreline. I added the roads, a new airfield background, plus of course there is the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI, which is an Air Inuit Dash 8-300. This is the last of a series in northern Quebec that all have similar terminal buildings; I know of others which have the same type of building but I have no photos to discover the differences.

Qikiqtarjuaq CYVM (Broughton) and DEW FOX-5 in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Qikiqtarjuaq is an airfield on the northeast coast of Baffin Island, just over 100 miles north of Pangnirtung. The airfield is the closest Canadian airfield to Greenland and is used for ferry flights from Canada to Europe for small planes, though there is normally only JetA1 fuel available. The airfield is at only 18 feet ASL next to the sea with the village to the north; it was previously (before 1998) called Broughton Island. The runway is 3,800' of 100' wide gravel and is lighted; as it is in the Northern Domestic Airspace the runway is signed as 033T-213T, using "true" bearings instead of magnetic. There is a terminal and a small maintenance building on the apron and these have been modeled specifically for this scenery. There are AI parking spots; the AI visiting aircraft are a Canadian North Dash 8 and a First Air 42-300. Qikiqtarjuaq village is just north of the airfield and has a population of around 520; it is approximately the right size and shape but no buildings were specifically modeled for the village. There is also a North Warning System site called Fox-5 to the northeast, and this too is included. You will need Ultimate Terrain Alaska Canada.

Peawanuck CYPO / Winisk CYWN - Northern Ontario, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Peawanuck is on the bank of the Winisk River, 23 miles upstream from where the river empties into the Hudson Bay just west of James Bay. It has a population of around 240, and was established in 1986 when the original settlement (Winisk) at the mouth of the river was destroyed by a flood. The airport is on a bluff in a corner of the river at 171 feet ASL, with a gravel runway just over 3,500 feet long and aligned 11-29. There is only basic runway lighting, with no ILS, VASI, or PAPI; there is also no apron lighting, or fuel. Service is provided by Air Creebec with connector flights to Moosonee and Timmins, and on to Montreal. A search of their timetable did not provide any information regarding timings but I made the AI flight from Timmins a daily one; it is probably only once or twice a week. There is also a daily private Cessna from Moosonee. Winisk, at the mouth of the river, has another gravel runway which is over 6,000 feet long. There is also a large hangar and to the north the remaining buildings and fuel tanks etc of a Radar Control site which was closed in 1965 after only 7 years of use.

Ivujivik CYIK in Hudson Bay, Quebec, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Ivujivik is a village of 350 or so inhabitants at N62 25 W78 on the northeastern corner of Hudson Bay. The village does not feature in FS9 but is included in this scenery with approximately the right shape (the coast, even with UT, is not exactly right) so just think of it as a hand-made auto-generated village which gives the airfield a reason. The runway is 3,500 feet of gravel 100 feet wide, which should be enough. I also added the roads, deleted the stock airfield background and added a new background, plus of course there is the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI. You may note that the terminal has the elevation written on the sign as 126', while on the winter photo it is written on the older & bigger sign as 130'. I thought this is because satellite radar has fixed the elevations of all airfields more accurately than before, as Rockcliffe too has gone from 192' to 188'; the alternative explanation is that global warming has raised sea level by 4'. Wow! That's a thought. I presume the new sign was made smaller as a cost saving.
