Description:
From June 1943 to August 1945, the 560th, 561st, 562nd and 563rd Bombardment Squadrons of the 388th Bombardment Group with B-17's, flew 331 missions (including 19 Aphrodite missions from Fersfeld) losing 179 B-17s. On 6 September 1943, the 388th lost 11 B-17's on a mission to Stuttgart including all the aircraft of the 563rd BS. The airfield was not used again and sold off in 1957.
This add-on is not compatible with VFR scenery. Sorry for that.
Included in the download is an AI traffic BGL file that makes this base come to life. To get this file working, you must have the Wings of Power Heavy Bombers and Jets add on installed. You must also have downloaded the two repaint set for the B-17 done by my friend Chuck Lawsen. This last file can be found here at Avsim, it�s called: wop_388_b17.zip This project is as always dedicated to all the brave young men that contributed to the effort of getting Europe out of the claws of a dark, perhaps the darkest period in modern history, but this time it is especially dedicated to 1st Lt. Ralph M. Reese, co-pilot 562nd Sqd., and of course all the brave men of the 388th.

File Description:
The airfield was opened in 1943 and was first used by the United States Army Air Force Eighth Air Force 457th Bombardment Group (Heavy), arriving from Wendover AAF, Utah on 21 January 1944. The 457th was assigned to the 94th Combat Bombardment Wing of the 1st Bombardment Division. Its tail code was Triangle-U.
The Group flew its last combat mission on 20 April 1945. The unit had carried out 237 missions. Total number of sorties was 7.086 with nearly 17.000 tons of bombs and 142 tons of leaflets being dropped.
The 457th was inactivated on 18 August 1945.
Included in the download is an AI traffic BGL file that makes this base come to life. To get this file working, you must download and install the 457th bomb group repaints for the Wings of Power B-17G by Chuck Lawsen.

Here is a "possible" future Freedom tower. DAY textures only.
I find New York sad or bleak, without a sky scraper at the WTC site.
So, I have the twin towers installed.
But I wanted to see what the future could look like.
Now I have the choice:
Activate/admire the past, or
activate/admire the future.

I made this because I downloaded and tried the Glacier Park scenery by Blue Sky Scenery and then discovered that the airfield runways are not always correctly positioned or aligned. So I moved the Weaver runway over and added a couple of buildings. That's it, almost the same as I did for Whitefish. If I find some more airfields in this area with similar problems then I'll do more of the same. Weaver is a private field 4 miles south of Glacier Park International at 2,929 feet ASL and around 45 miles south of the Canadian border. There are no large towns close by; the nearest would be Missoula, which is some 90 miles further south.

After completing the scenery I have received information that another airstrip (called Cholila Municipal Airport on a BIG sign) is in the edited area and I received an e-mail of somebody of the general area complaining (rightly so) that I had omitted Cholila town in it.So, here you are....updated....
cholila_v1.0.zip is required (Cholila Lodge v 1.0). A voicemod file is included for Cholila municipal, EditVoicepack is required to use it.
