Mesh South America / MeSA D09 Download

File Description:
FSX Mesh South America Project: This terrain mesh file is a part of a whole project covering all the Continent of South America and some islands, divided in tiles identified in a map by its column (letters) and rows (numbers). Those files were multi-LOD compiled from 90m SRTM2 source data, reprocessed with 3DEM to remove voids and spikes, providing a 76.4m (LOD9) horizontal resolution topography intended for use only in FSX updated with SP1. Although not well documented, to improve performance, the updated FSX loads DEM files in threads and only the closer terrain (about 5-10 NM from the point of view) is rendered in high detail, while at far distances FSX shows up its default low resolution mesh, when there is not a third part terrain mesh compiled in all others intermediate level of details (multi-LOD). THIS FILE: FSX_MeSA_D09 (Column D x Row 09) covers the area inside the boundaries: N = 33º 45' S; S = 39º 22.5' S; W = 67º 30' W; E = 60º 0' W; AUTHORS: Hely Heck Junior - Magrao ( [email protected] ) and Jose Lobo ( [email protected] ) TerraBrasilis: www.terra-brasilis.org

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2278 for The B24 Guy's OH Download

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2278, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #12. Pilot: Lt. William M. Bower, Co-Pilot: Lt. Thadd H. Blanton, Navigator: Lt. William R. Pound, Bombardier: T/Sgt. Waldo J. Bither, Flight Engineer/Gunner: S/Sgt. Omer A Duquette. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. Enjoy!

Hunting Percival Sea Prince Belgian Air Force (RM-7) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Percival Sea Prince by Rob Richardson, in the colors of RM-7 of the Belgian Air Force, in the paintscheme it wore in its first year of service. In 1953 the Belgian Government ordered 12 Percival Pembroke's through Contract N° SP140 as a replacement for the ageing Avro Anson. The aircraft was used for short-range transport and liaison flights. Between 1956 and 1957 several brand-new Pembrokes were stored at Wevelgem awaiting a future detachment to the Belgian Congo, which eventually never materialised. A number of Pembrokes were also used for the benefit of the Belgian National Geographical Institute that used the aerial photographs obtained with the Pembrokes to produce very detailed maps of the country. In 1978 the Pembrokes were struck of charge after their replacement, the Swearingen Merlin III became operational. All but two Pembrokes were sold to the rather dark company Air America (not to be confused with the CIA-supported Air America that was operational in South-East Asia), which was owned by a drugsdealer. After some very adventurous carreers in Souith America, several former Belgian Pembrokes were acquired and preserved in the USA. RM-7 is preserved in Belgium at Melsbroek air base by the Dakota Historical Center 15th Wing. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Rob Richardson.

Republic P-47D-20 365th FG (B4-W) "Mortician's Delight" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-5-RE 42-8438 B4-W "Morticians Delight", one of the P-47's flown by Lt Neal Worley of the 387th FS/ 365th FG. Lt. Worley's first two P-47's were called 'Kansas Jack', referring to his Emporia, Kansas upbringing, but he did not feel like naming his third aircraft. His crew came up with 'Morticians Delight', and Worley himself painted the picture on the engine cowling. In 127 missions, he crashed 5 Thunderbolts. His coolness under pressure was immortilized on July 26th, 1944. A 20 mm shell hit his right wheel well during an attack on Sauveur Lendelin, jamming the wheel. He discovered that only the left wheel would lower, but would not retract, so bellying in was no longer an option. He circled for over an hour, burning fuel, and then landed on only the left gear, easing the fighter down. When the right wing dipped just enough, he hit the left brake, and the P-47 spun to a stop. His landing was captured on film, and used in the movie "Fighter Squadron". The aircraft was repaired, and flew missions the very next day, as a testament to the ruggedness of the Thunderbolt. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

AeroSur Boeing 767-284/ER "Sharko" (CP-2659) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I am quite proud to present this very detailed and accurate repaint of Aerosur's Boeing 767-284/ER logojet named "Sharko", in the Project Opensky B762 V4 model. This logojet of Aerosur of Bolivia turns heads wherever she goes. She joins a rather large group of other AeroSur logojets, forming a total complement of 8. This aircraft flies into Miami (KMIA) and Dulles (KIAD) in the USA. This repaint is almost 100% hand painted. All artwork is hand rendered except the AeroSur Eagle logo. Custom textures included in this repaint are; hand-painted realistic 3D windows with window shades, custom tires, custom night textures (and alpha), custom fuselage shading, tug with AeroSur logo, stewardess is a an actual AeroSur stewardess in AeroSur uniform, interior exit signs in Spanish (SALIDA), custom fuselage shading and many others. The screen shots included with this package showcase this detailed repaint and the outstanding Miami International Airport (KMIA) scenery recently released by LatinVFR. Fuselage, engine, wing and tail textures are 32-bit with no mips for best clarity and quality. As this has been one of the most enjoyable and challenging repaints for me, I hope you enjoy flying this wonderful aircraft as much as I did creating it. This is a complete install and contains all Project Opensky provided files current to Version 2004.8.0. The sound is from the default B737.

FSX Grand Canyon North Rim Simulation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Welcome to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! This scenery is a mostly fictitious representation of what the North Rim might look like of it had been developed like the South rim. A new airport (KKPA, Kaibab Plateau Airport) is the centerpiece. It sits at 8,730 ft MSL so density altitude is a real issue. Runway 17/35 is 6,500ft long so biz jets can get in and out safely. A new resort sits atop the ridge to the east [Eagle's Nest]. There is a helipad for access. An NDB makes finding it easier [AZ95 220.9 kHz]. Or you can just follow the traffic on the access road that branches off from highway 67 just south of the airport. To the north I have added a gravel strip to Jacob Lake where 67 joins 89A. Runway 14/32 is 3000 ft long and sits at 7900 ft MSL. An NDB [AZ93 393 kHz] is included. At the south end of Highway 67 sits the North Rim Visitor Center. There is a helipad on the roof for those who like rotary wing challenges. The NDB is AZ94 at 423.4 kHz. The entire length of Highway 67 is represented with traffic going both ways. You will see air traffic from KGCN at the South Rim and traffic between KKPA and Jacob Lake.

QuickPlan for Windows Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
QuickPlan for Windows is a visual point and click flight planner that makes it easy to generate flight plans in native FSX, FS2004 or X-Plane formats. The entire route is generated visually, by tapping the map to add the departure airport, intermediate waypoints and arrival airport in the same order that you intend flying the plan. During plan creation and after adding the final arrival waypoint you also have the opportunity to remove any of the intermediate waypoints before saving the plan in your preferred format. QuickPlan utilises a new mapping engine and includes 12 world-wide map styles and has support for FSWidgets Cloud Based Aero Charts (free Cuba/Puerto Rico WAC Cloud Based Chart included) and FSWidgets Cloud Based World Nav Data (Free KSFO - San Francisco Bay area Nav Data included). QuickPlan can be used in Freeform Mode, Advanced Mode, or a combination of both. FREEFORM MODE: Simply click anywhere on the map and QuickPlan will allow you to add it as a generic waypoint. VFR pilots often use towns, lakes and other unique geographic features and with QuickPlan you can add any geographical location shown on the base map. Plans created this way label the waypoints automatically with generic names (e.g. DEP, WP1, WP2, ARR). If desired, the entire route from departure to arrival can be created without reference to any navigational aids or official airports. This is handy for bush pilots who often use unlicensed airfields and small landing strips (or seaplane landing areas). Helicopter pilots can also quickly create plans that depart from off-airport locations like building rooftops or land on a road. ADVANCED MODE: If you own the FSWidgets Cloud Based World Nav Data product you can create more advanced flight plans by clicking on any of the icons displayed on the map to add them as waypoints - airports, VOR's, NDB's and intersections (data for the KSFO area is included free). Plans created this way label the waypoints automatically with airport and navigational aid identifiers taken from the Nav Data (e.g. KSFO, OSI, LV, FABLA). FEATURE LIST: - Generates native FSX (.pln), FS2004 (.pln) and X-Plane (.fms) format flight plans - Saves flight plans to any folder (preferred folder set in Preferences) - Search for airport by ICAO identifier - Map powered by CloudMade Leaflet API (using OpenStreetMap data) - Includes 12 world-wide maps styles - Supports FSWidgets Cloud Based AERO CHARTS - Free Cuba/Puerto Rico WAC Cloud Based Chart included - Supports FSWidgets Cloud Based WORLD NAV DATA - Free KSFO (San Francisco Bay) area Nav Data included - World-wide Metar and TAF Data icons - US Nexrad (Next-Gen Radar) Data

FS2004/FSX Boeing 737 Next-Generation (600-900ER) CFMI CFM56-7B Soundpack Download

File Description:
This sound is intended for use on Project Opensky's models, but they'll work pretty good I am sure on other freeware and payware planes. After month's of hard precision work, I present to you my new realistic and accurate 737NG CFM56-7B soundpack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and X. The interior sounds are mainly from a passenger perspective. Once you load your aircraft with these sounds, you'll hear the APU System and Fans in the cabin. You hear the humming sound of the CFM56-7B at idle after you have started the engines. You spool up the engines at takeoff then hear the buzzsaw-like sound of the CFM56-7B engine's fans. Once you lift off and put up the landing gear you will hear a chime from the cabin. It features realistic cockpit sounds like the autopilot deactivation sound, stall clicker, overspeed clicker, gear up warning sound buzzer, flaps lever, rolling whine, and touch-down. I am sure that if you are a frequent Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft flyer, or if you're a pilot or flight crew onboard a 737NG aircraft, that you'll pretty impressed by these sounds. Give this soundpack a try, I am sure you won't be disappointed!
