| Sudwestflug Douglas DC-6B |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-6B in Sudwestflug colors. The freeware Cal Classic DC-6B by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. The German charter operator Südwestflug was founded in 1964 as a sort of feeder company for the company Contracta GmbH & Co KG. This company was active in the holiday home industry which built and sold their houses in Spain. To promote the homes to potential clients, they purchased the first of ultimately three DC-6B airliners in September 1965. Deficiencies found in the maintenance of the machines led to the start of a ban, and a negative image of the airline. The German newspapers wrote at that time of the "Wild Westflug", which was quite damaging. In order to avert an impending bankruptcy, they decided to make a far-reaching change in their image and changed their name to Germanair on 28 October 1968. They operated 3 DC-6Bs under their tenure. This repaint depicts D-ABAH. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FS2004, FSX & P3D v1-3.

| Alaska Bush Scenery: Stony River Bend & Old Stony |
|
File Description:
Here's your big chance to take-off and land using a curved airstrip. Stony River Bend is located just west of Merrill Pass, very close to Tom Fica's cabin at Two Lakes (part of his 'Merrill Pass' scenery add-on). The bumpy dirt runway - becoming slightly overgrown and prone to waterlogging - is marked out with wooden posts (lit at night) and presents a unique challenge: one that I haven't really sorted out just yet! There's a small settlement just up a log-lined trail from the airfield with a gravel service track connecting with a basic NDB/DME facility to help out with night or low visibility approaches. Although Stony River Bend is fictional, it has been based loosely on a real life runway at Elk City in Idaho. Three miles downstream is another simple backwoods strip called Old Stony - the narrow gravel runway here is conventional, but it's probably in an even worse state of repair. Designed for use with Eddie Denney's FS2002 mesh of Alaska, but the scenery is usable without it.

| Douglas DC-3 Val-U-Prop CargoLiner Plane and Panel |
|
File Description:
Val-U-Prop is a rogue airline based in Bloomington, Indiana, that flies everything from VIPs to sheep manure anyplace and anytime. VP's motto is "No job too small; No fee too large," and our DC-3's, DC-4's, DC-6's and DC-8's can be seen hedge-hopping into various obscure airports throughout the world. This aircraft is an all-aluminum re-paint of the fabulous DC-3 OH-LCH by Jan Visser, Erik Ellis, Roy Chaffin, Ian Roper and Bill Rambow, to which FS2002 lights have been added. It has military capability, including machine guns and NUCLEAR/GPS/JDAM guided bomb launch. Panel includes everything on main panel, except for GPS and (optional) default radios, so there is no tabbing. The very aluminal wing views were shot by Thomas Klein, and the vintage C-47 cabin was photographed by Tom Turner. Gauges by James Underwood, Ernie Kennedy and Dai Griffiths. A-bomb and machine guns by Chris Trotter. All of this brought to you by Val-U-Prop - http://home.bluemarble.net/~jcumus/index.html - where WE VAL-U-YOU!

File Description:
FS2004 USAF/MATS Convair CV-240 VBF in colors of 1952. The Convair with cn 264 was one of a bunch of T-29B-CO (CV-240-27) delivered to the U.S. Air Force September 16, 1952 and on July 15, 1953 assigned to the 1299 Transport Squadron of Military Air Transport Service (MATS). She was equipped with standard high density seating for staff transport and painted in the typically MATS livery of the early fifties. On July 13, 1956 she was converted to VC-131A standard and fitted with the weather mapping radar used extensively on the model CV-440 and on many CV-340 models. The last operator of this Convair was the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Stuttgart (Germany). She came to AMARC on May 06, 1975 and was sold off for scrap on November 23, 1994. Textures and associated model file included only. Requires cv240VBFmilitary_basepack_010.ZIP.
