Hopping Round the World Adventure - Pack 74

File Description:
We have 8 takeoffs in Japan and 2 in Korea. Some winter rain as we make some nice hops. On the last leg it starts out so innocently but can be fatal as you prepare to land. IFR anyone? We have mapped out our progress on our way to Alaska. See the Progress Map. So far, 747 takeoffs and landings and 140,727 miles flown.

File Description:
We have 4 takeoffs in Taiwan and 6 in Japan. The Boeing 707 makes a brief return. A very short, tricky third leg will require you to stay focused or you will mix up airports. Listen carefully to ATC! A little rain along the way will spice things up. Hey, don’t be mad at me at what could be the longest taxi to takeoff in the HRW so far.

File Description:
We have 5 takeoffs in Russia and 5 in China. Snow flurries gets us started in our Concorde. Be prepared for some long haul hops. The A340 makes its second appearance! Can you taxi then takeoff in heavy dense fog? I did! Don’t forget to enjoy the scenery and the Aurora Borealis. We are making steady progress towards Taiwan and Japan in the upcoming packs.

File Description:
We have 3 takeoffs in Russia, 3 in Japan and 4 in US – Alaska. Watch for lightning and listen to the boom of thunder while descending in Leg 3. Fight the controls all the way down to a safe landing. In the Concorde on Leg 5 you will zoom past many thunderheads over 40,000ft; the flight was smooth nonetheless. Such a sweet landing in your Boeing 747F on Leg 7! What a sunrise on Leg 9 prior to takeoff enroute to UHMD. You will NEVER forget the memorable landing. Take sometime to enjoy the scenery, the unusual runway lights formation and the 2nd airport in the HRW with a camper trailer for a tower. A must pack!!
