File Description:
A texture set for Manfred Jahn's C-47 showing c/n 25928 in Rhodesian Air Services colours registration VP-YUU. The aircraft was delivered to the USAF as 43-48667 in 1943. In 1944 she was transfered to the RAF as KJ897. From 1951 she was registered as G-AMKE and was operated first by Field's and then BEA. From 1961 to 1962 she was leased to South Pacific Airlines of NZ. In 1962 she was bought by Rhodesian Air Services and later sold to Central African Airways, eventually becoming 9J-RDR when transfered to Zambia Airways after the break up of CAA. The front section of her fuselage was preserved as a "Dak in the wall" pub at Phoebus Apollo Aviation in Johannesburg.

File Description:
Laker Airways was formed by Sir Freddie Laker in 1966. In 1977 it became the world's first long-haul, low-cost, "no frills" airline with Skytrain between Gatwick & JFK. The company did not survive the economic recession of the early 1980s, and operated its last flight on February 4, 1982. Laker Airways Virtual was formed 1st August 2007 operating SKYTRAIN and now one year on Laker Airways Virtual is proud to announce it’s new low-cost, "no frills" EUROTRAIN flying from two bases, Glasgow (EGPF) in Scotland and Stansted (EGSS) in England with a brand new Airbus A330-200 in EUROTRAIN colours. Base model available at Sim Outhouse.
Thanks to Manfred Jahn and his team for creating model and Jan Visser and his team for the vintage VC, Ted "TuFun" Wolfgang for the improved engine textures and sounds. Gordon "Gman5250" Madison's excellent pain kit was used as the base.
