| Harrier VSTOL/Effects Control Gauges |
|
File Description:
This archive contains addon's for Adam Preece' GR.7 Harrier aircraft, which IMHO is
the best visual Harrier model available at this time:
1. New flight dynamics, seperately animated nozzles and flaps, and a VSTOL control
gauge, enabling a stable VSTOL operation (vertical landing/takeoff) with auto-pitch
control, whilst maintaining realistic normal-flight characteristics.
2. A set of gauge-controlled effects, like engine heat/smoke (backwards or downwards,
depending on nozzles position), a visible/audible cannon, and wing vapor / wingtip
vortex effects.
And more ....A real must-try for Harrier fans. See included README for further details.

| Nick's Jet Smoke UPDATE |
|
File Description:
The smoke files in this update are an option to the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects. Given the overwhelming positive response to the original effects and requests for better visibility of the thrust, the files included have been enhanced around the exhaust port area to highlight the initial heat and thrust being expelled from the engine while in flight. You must have the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects package in order for the included smoke effects to be throttle controlled. This update includes some known issue fixes and a corrected B747-400 aircraft configuration file. The files included will directly replace the original effects without any additions or configuration file editing.

File Description:
What I miss the most into a lot of FS Aircraft is the smart "click" of the switches. That's the reason of this gauge. It works with most of the switches of the default FS airplanes, but also with most of add-ons (free or pay) that use default xml code. You will hear a nice "click" for battery, gen, avionics, lights, pitot, etc... But also a small "tictictic" when selecting VOR/NDB direction, a big "clang" when putting the parking brake, and a light "sblug" when selecting a fuel tank. The sounds are suitable for general aviation airplane, like C172, Baron, Beaver that have metal switches. Not suitable for jetliners. By Daniel Gauthier.

This V.748D (C/N 101) was built for CAA as VP-YND and first flew on Thursday, 14 June 1956. It was the first Viscount to visit Vnukovo, Moscow, USSR on 29 June 1956 and was sent to collect the British Industry delegation who had attended the Soviet Aviation day celebrations. R M A Mweru was passed on to Air Rhodesia when CAA was disolved in 1965. It was shot down by a 'Strella' heat seeking surface to air (SAM) missile after take off from Kariba, Rhodesia 12 February 1979. | ELVA / FlyUK Boeing 777 Package Update to v3 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This file will upgrade my ELVA Boeing 777 Pack to version 3. Version 3 includes some major and minor updates. It also adds new features: Heat Haze (shimmer) effects plus smoke effects by Martyn Becker, Reverser Spray Effects by Edward Cox and Takeoff Spray effects by Dennis Franke. I have also created a low spec system option so that low spec users can use my boeing packages but with less features. See the readme file for more details. Patch by Peter Slater, uploaded by Gareth Abbott. Big thanks to those named here. Credited as asked. Visit his web site for his other projects at http://fsprojects.webs.com or search 'peter slater' here on AVSIM. | Air Canada DC-8 Operating Manual |
|
File Description:
These are scans from an old Air Canada DC-8 manual. There are four chapters:
Chapter 2 - Normal Operation, which includes Takeoff through Approach and Landing procedures.
Chapter 4 - Performance, which includes performance charts for DC-8-40 (RR Conway), DC-8-50 (JT3D-3), DC-8-61 (JT3D-3) and DC-8-63 (JT3D-7).
Chapter 20 - Flight Instruments, which includes detailed descriptions and schematics of the pitot static system, gyrosyn compass system, and a flight director approach diagram.
Chapter 21 - Automatic Flight Control System, which includes descriptions and a schematic of the autopilot system, as well as a description of autothrottle operation (Air Canada had some DC-8-63s with autothrottle).
These are the only chapters I have, so don't bother asking for more!
Big thanks to Herman Kreimes who provided the material for scans.

| Virgin America Airbus A319/A320 fleet Pack 2008 for AI (DXT3 only) |
|
File Description:
Virgin America Airbus Fleet Pack 2008 for AI (DXT3 only), featuring the complete fleet as of August 2008 for the DJC/EVAI models. All christened and named jets for both A319 and A320 are included, as well as the 'Entourage Air', with matching signatures, door tapes, pitot types and additional details. Not only the names and registrations are different, but also various other things differ as in real: cockpit window frames, engine stickers, weather and dirt, and also you'll see the actual Virgin America light blue window shutters on aircrafts, where they are in real. Repaints can be used on both models, if one like to use them with the older EVAI model you need to rename the files. Due to the different shutter configurations, custom lightmaps for every single aircraft livery are also included. Thanks for downloading and enjoy.

| Air Rhodesia, Vickers Viscount 700 circa 1979 |
|

File Description:
Air Rhodesia was originally formed as a subsidiary of Central African Airways in June 1964, but became an independent corporation on September 1, 1967. This V.748D (C/N 100) was built for CAA as VP-YNC and first flew on Thursday, 24 May 1956. In 1979 it was painted in grey anti-missile livery after a SAM attack on Viscount VP-YND (C/N 101), and fitted with deflectors on the engine jet pipes to try and prevent a SAM missile from locking on using its heat sensors. In conjunction with special operational procedures when climbing and descending, they achieved the desired safety effect: no more aircraft were lost to missile attacks.
