File Description:
Niihau, the westernmost of the inhabited Hawaiian Islands, is privately owned and used primarily to raise cattle. It's small population works the ranch. Because it is so isolated, it is the last of the Hawaiian Islands where Hawaiian is the primary language. Niihau has no airport of its own. You get there by taking off from Kauai and flying west. I'd recommend using Port Allen (PAK). Unless visibility is limited, you can see Niihau across the water from the airport. Just take off and fly a heading of 270 degrees. However, a saved flight which places you just off Niihau's shore is included in the package should you need it.

Hawaii Photoreal - Niihau, Lehua and Kaula

File Description:
The Hawaii Photoreal project from FSX is proud to bring a gorgeous island to X-Plane, Niihau! This is the first Hawaii Photoreal Scenery available with HD Mesh for X-Plane 10! Installation instructions are included. You must download both files for full HD Mesh experience. This scenery will not align correctly with default terrain and coastlines or those available with AlpilotX's HD Mesh 2. It should also be noted that this scenery will explode upon decompression - the true size of the folder is 341MB, whereas the download size is only 88MB. Make sure you aren't almost out of space. Niihau for X-Plane 10 includes customized HD Mesh for the entire island, including Lehua and Kaula. This isn't just processed DEM data - we have reviewed and perfected the coastlines and cliffs for ideal appearance. The Hawaiian Islands - Kauai, Part 1 of 5

File Description:
The complete scenery package is 446MB in size. In order to accommodate AvSim's file size requirement, this scenery has been broken into five smaller files. However, all five files -- Hawaii-Kauai-RS-01.zip through Hawaii-Kauai-RS-05.zip -- are necessary for this scenery to work properly. My apologies in advance for the added complexity this involves. "Hawaii-Kauai-RS-01" includes a ReadMe with detailed instructions on how to install this scenery.

Kauai itself is the fourth largest of the main Hawaiian Islands. Also known as the "Garden Isle" due to it's lush tropical foliage, it is located about 105 miles (170 kilometers) west of Oahu and just to the east of tiny Niihau. The east side of Mount Wai'ale'ale is considered to be one of the wettest spots on earth receiving an average annual rainfall of 460 inches (1,200 cm). All that water has carved out deep valleys in the central mountains, the most scenic of which is Waimea Canyon, often referred to as "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific". From shoreline cliffs to mountainous heights, to pristine beaches, enjoy exploring this picture postcard perfect landscape.
