| Lockheed L-049 Constellation (48-610) USAF "Columbine II" |

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Lockheed L049 Constellation in the colors of 48-610 "Columbine II". It was delivered to the USAF as a C-121A in 1949 and was used for flights between MacArthur Field NY and Keflavik on Iceland in 1949. It was then converted to VC-121A and became the presidential aircraft "Columbine II" for president Eisenhower until 1954. After 1954 is was used as a VIP aircraft for the remainder of its Air Force career, with a brief stint in Thailand as N9907F during 1955. It was retired in 1968 and used for spares by Christler Flying Service between 1970 and 1984, registered as N9463. It was restored to flying condition in 1989-90 by Mel Christler and Harry Oliver and made some flights in 1990-91. Attempts to sell it were unsuccesful,a nd the aircraft was stored at Avra Valley airport until 2015, when it was sold to Dynamic Aviation of Bridgewater VA, who are hoping to restore it and to fly it on airshows. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

| RAF Barkston Heath - 1944 |

File Description:
At the time of its construction, RAF Barkston Heath in common with a number of other airfields in the Grantham area had been planned for the RAF's No. 7 Group. In late 1943, Barkston Heath was made available to the United States Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force and designated as USAAF station 483. It was earmarked for basing troop carrier units scheduled to be transferred from Sicily to participate in the forthcoming cross-Channel invasion, Operation "Overlord"
American 61 TCG aircraft based at Barkston Heath carried British paratroops on the ill-fated operation Market Garden.
The USAAF returned control of the airfield to the Air Ministry in June 1945 when the war in Europe ended. Barkston Heath was used by No 256 Maintenance Unit and No 2 RAF Regiment. Beginning in May 1948.,
RAF Barkston Heath has the Naval and Army Elements of No. 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS) which, for a period between approximately 1995-2010 operated the Slingsby T67M260 Firefly two-seat trainer. The school now operates the Grob Tutor T1. A secondary role of RAF Barkston Heath is as a Relief Landing Ground for the flying training activities at RAF Cranwell.

Uzice Ponikve Airport (Serbian: Aerodrom Uzice Ponikve) (IATA: UZC, ICAO: LYUZ); also known as Lepa Glava (literally: Beautiful Head) is an airport in the western part of Serbia. The airport is located at Ponikve (literally: Sinkholes) plateau: 8 km (5 mi) southwest from the Jelova Gora, 11 km (7 mi) east from the Mount Tara, 12 km (7.5 mi) northwest from the city of Uzice, 13 km (8 mi) southeast from the town of Bajina Basta, 19 km (12 mi) northeast from the popular tourist center with unique attractions of the Mokra Gora, 20 km (12.5 mi) north from the Mount Zlatibor, 20 km (12.5 mi) southwest from the town of Kosjeric, 27 km (17 mi) northwest from the town of Pozega, 32 km (20 mi) southwest from the Mountain resort Divcibare, 35 km (22 mi) northeast from the town of Visegrad in Republic of Srpska (BiH), 50 km (31 mi) northwest from the Mount Zlatar. File Description:
In 1931, the city of Sunnyvale acquired a 1,000 acre (4 km���²) parcel of farmland bordering San Francisco Bay, then "sold" the parcel for $1 to the US government as a home base for the Navy airship USS Macon.
The location proved to be ideal for an airport, since the area is often clear while other parts of the San Francisco Bay are covered in fog. This is due to the Coast Range to the west which blocks the cold oceanic air which is the cause of San Francisco fog.
The base, originally named Airbase Sunnyvale CAL (it was thought that calling it Mountain View would cause officials to fear airships colliding with mountainsides), was accepted by the U.S. Navy on February 12, 1931 and dedicated NAS Sunnyvale on April 12, 1933. After the death of Rear Admiral William A. Moffett, in the loss of the USS Akron on April 4, 1933, the Air Field (but not the Naval Air Station) was renamed Moffett Field on September 1, 1933.
