Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX |
![]() |
File Description:
The Spitfire was developed continuously throughout World War II, through some 24 versions. A major revision of the original Spitfire was the Mk IX, a model quickly cobbled together to meet the challenge of the newly emerging Focke-
Wulf 190. The high-altitude version Mk IX was essentially a Mk V with a 1,710-hp Merlin 70 engine, capable of more than 400 mph. From 1942 to 1944 5,665 Mk IXs were built, and at war's end many were still in RAF service.
This is the airplane flown by Lt.-Col Robert (Bob) Rogers, commanding officer of Nr. 40 Squadron of the South African Air Force in Italy during 1944.
This model has full animation, full lighting effects and a realistic panel with accurate views in all directions.

The Regia Aeronautica (Royal Italian Air Force) received 53 Spitfires Mk V from R.A.F., during August of 1944, but , due to their poor conditions, only 33 of them were used. These planes, assigned to 20 Gruppo of 51 Stormo were based on Galatina Airport (Lecce, Italy). Two of these Spits flown during the last mission of Regia Aeronautica during WW2 (5 May 1945). Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-4M Canadair Plane and Panel |
![]() |
File Description:
FS2002 Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-4M Canadair
Val-U-Prop has now acquired a DC-4 - and it's a special aircraft. Based on the original work of Tom Gibson and Harry Follas, this is a DC-4M Canadair. It features Merlin engines, a pressurized cabin, and is fully animated, with FS2002 strobe/nav/beacon/landing lights added. The superb flight dynamics of Brian Horsey insure an easy to fly and land aircraft, and the spot and tower view frame rates are the highest you will find anywhere. Aircraft will work in FS2000 as well. This package includes the panel Dc4jcuv2.zip, and the two together comprise a combination that makes Val-U-Prop truly the airline where "No job is too small; No fee too large." Seaplane Racer for x-plane 6.6-6.7 |
![]() |
File Description:
Seaplane Racer for x-plane 6.6-6.7 - This is the looser (by choice) of my two designs completed for the Seaplane Contest going on at www.x-plane.org. It is the fastest of my two designs capable of 500 mph in level flight at 1500 ft. Powered by two Rolls Royce Merlin V12 engines each developing 2200 HP. The rear engine drives 2- 9' diameter, pusher, four blade, counter rotating props; the front engine drives 2-7.2' diameter, puller, four blade, counter rotating props. Wing tips fold to reduce drag and allow the plane to meet the minimum 200 ft2 wing area. Remove the floats, shorten the landing gear by about 2.7 feet and do over 530 mph. Go to www.x-plane.org go to the forums and click on custom designs to find out more about the seaplane contest.

Avro Lancaster Sound Package |
![]() |
File Description:
This is a complete sound package created specifically for the four engined Avro Lancaster with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines (but will work with any other four engined prop aircraft). This package has been designed so that each engine sounds slightly different, along with their own individual startup and shutdown sounds thus giving them their own character. The result being a loud and very rich sound as they all work together. You could say that this is four sound files in one!.
Parts of this package have been taken from "free to use" FS sound files plus some from FS9 itself which have been blended together to get the best engine sound possible. If you've got a pair of headphones or big speakers on your system, then you're in for a treat. I also recommend downloading my panel (lncpnlv2.zip) from FS2004 Panels, and Dave Garwood's Avro Lancaster to complete the set.

Operating and Charter Costs |
![]() |
File Description:
Now here is a most unusual file for you.... While one of the great pleasures of Flightsim is a bottomless wallet, For those wanting to fly charter and “keep it reasonable” and realistic, I found three websites that may help - I am sure there must be more.
The first, Controller provides an extensive listing of not only aircraft for sale... but also Aircraft for lease and charter (you’ll be able to determine just how much to charge your passengers. Categories range from Jet - Turboprop - Piston Single - Piston Twin - Antique / Classic - Experimental / Homebuilt - Piston Agricultural - Turbine Agricultural - Piston Military - Turbine Military - Piston Amphibious / Floatplane - Turbine Amphibious / Floatplane - Piston Helicopter - Turbine Helicopter
Two additional websites will give you an idea of just why you ARE charging so much...
For Jets - Omni Jet Trading - has a very comprehensive listing of Performance and Costs for most corporate Jets - From Astra to Westwind and most all inbetween.
For Turbo and Piston - Pierce Aircraft Sales covers operating costs from Beechcraft to the Swearingen Merlin IIIB
Zip file contains the URLs for all three websites...

De Havilland DH-98 Mosquito (DZ546) 618 Sqn G |

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito by Dave Garwood, in the colors of DZ546, a B Mk.IV that flew with No.618 Squadron in the summer of 1945. It was built in early 1943 and allocated to 618 Squadron. It was converted for 'Highball' missions in 1944. Highball was the codename of special spherical bouncing bombs to be used for antishipping attacks. The conversion included Merlin 24 motors, a four bladed prop, an arrester hook, new windscreen and armour plating. With the collapse of the German threat, 618 was transferred to Australia in october 1944, but no suitable role was found for the squadron, which was disbanded at RAAF Narromine in july 1945.
The Mosquitos were later sold and DZ546 was bought by Ken & Rob Bowman of Dunedoo, who dismantled it with the help of a chainsaw. Parts of the aircraft are currently being used in the restoration of a Mosquito in New Zealand. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Dave Garwood.
