EDCB - Ballenstedt Airport - Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany *Version 1* |
![]() |
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The airfield Ballenstedt is located in the eastern foothills of the €œHarz (North German low mountain range) and with twenty thousand aircraft movements per year a relatively highly frequented airport.
The scenery is designed very much in detail. All important objects have been created by me using photos of the original field. Also some clearly visible landmarks are integrated like the large photovoltaic arrangement north of the asphalt runway and the quite large pig farm “Asmusstedt†situated east of the field. An additional important point of reference for glider pilots is the so-called "Gegenstein", a narrow rock on top of the small hill south of the Gliderfield. A retouched photo background, covering all four seasons, completes the scenery.
However, many smaller Objects, like people, cars or static airplanes in this scenery were
taken from three popular freeware libraries for whose use I got the friendly permission of the
authors. If these libraries are not installed , many objects are not visible!
The following libraries are used:

RAF Broadwell - Oxfordshire, England |
![]() |
File Description:
RAF Broadwell (ICAO X2BW) is a former Royal Air Force station located 2 miles north of Broadwell and 3 miles southeast of Burford, Oxfordshire, within 2 miles of RAF Brize Norton.
It opened on 15 November 1943 and closed on 31 March 1947, operating under RAF Transport Command. It consisted of 3 concrete runways in triangular configuration.
Broadwell took part in the D-Day assaults with nearby RAF Down Ampney and RAF Blakehill Farm. Broadwell had two such squadrons, No. 512 Squadron RAF and No. 575 Squadron RAF were based here, flying the Douglas Dakota.
In February 1944, No. 512 Squadron was transferred to No. 46 Group at RAF Broadwell, it was a tactical Dakota squadron and started training glider towing and parachute dropping. Its first operation in the new role was a leaflet drop on 5 June 1944 over France, this followed intensive flying in and out of France including dropping parachutists at Arnhem.
On the eve of D-Day No. 575 Squadron dropped 5 Para into the invasion drop zone. On 6 June, it towed 21 Horsa gliders into France. In the next few weeks it started a casualty evacuation service from France back to England. In September 1944, it was involved in operation market garden to Arnhem where it suffered severe casualties.
The airfield continued to be a terminus for long-range transport operations to Europe, the Middle East and India. Source: Wikipedia

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A 42-92847 3X-W "That's All, Brother!"of the 438th TCG, based in Greenham Common, England. It was the aircraft that was the lead plane with the parachute droppings on the night of D-Day, dropping men of 502nd PIR of the 101st Airborne Division arond 00:48. It then returned to Greenham Common and later that day pulled a glider to Normandy to reinforce the 82nd Airborne Division. Later it evacuated wounded from France, took part in Operation Market Garden, flew supplies to Bastogne, took part in Operation Varsity, before returning to the US in 1945. It passed through the hands of several private owners, is rumoured to have flwon for the CIA, and was restored as an AC-47 gunship by the Aero heritage Museum in 2004.. In 2008 it went to Basler for conversion to a turboprop BT-67, when somebody recognised the significance of this aircraft. A kickstarter campaign secured the purchase by the Commemorative Air Force, who are planning to restore her to her D-Day configuration. More details on this, including D-Day footage, can be seen here: http://ww2live.com/en/content/world-war-2-forgotten-d-day-bird-s-all-brother-will-be-restored-and-itll-fly-thanks. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 version 3, based on the paintkit by Gman5250.

De Havilland DH-82 Tiger Moth (ZK-AQA & ZK-AYE) Nelson Aero Club |
![]() |
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains two repaints for Ant's DH-82 Tiger Moth Pro for P3DV4+. It shows two Tiger Moths of the Nelson Aero Club in New Zealand, ZK-AQA and ZK-AYE.
ZK-AQA, which was built in Hatfield and assembled in New Zealand in 1940 as NZ863. It was sold to a Mr. J. Reid in 1947. In 1950 it went to the Nelson Aero Club, and is shown in their service in this repaint. After several owners it wound up with the Auckland Gliding Club in 1961. In 1965, it crashed on take-off while towing a glider and it was damaged. Its remains were stored, but I'm not sure if they are still around.
ZK-AYE came from RAF stocks and was previously R4978.
It was built at Hatfield and assembled in NZ. It was shipped to New Zealand on "SS Rangitata" and BOC Unit 18 Rongotai 03 June 1940 and flew with No.3 EFTS, Harewood 1943-1944. After the war, it was issued free to Nelson Aero Club from Taieri on 15 September 1949 and entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-AYE on 02 February 1951. It was sold to A. Blechynden on 28 October 1957. The transfer was not notified to the CAA who cancelled it from the register on 28 November 1957. It rejoined the register with the new allocated registration of ZK-BVK in January 1958 and went to W. Scottof Karangahua in 1958. Unfortunately, it broke up in flight 10 miles north of Otorohanga on 07 May 1958 killing pilot and passenger. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Anthony Lynch

Caproni-Vizzola C-22J Ventura |
![]() |
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The Machine:
A fully aerobatic, very-light Jet that compares to the Bede BD-5J, but heavier and sporting two instead of one TRS-18 turbojets. Up to Mach 0.47 and 650 NM of range, with a service ceiling of 25000ft. A low stall speed (for a jet) makes the aircraft good for short field operations.
Certified for VFR operations only, yet includes a good avionics suite.
This is a "Classic" aircraft featuring "Steam" gauges and radios. Yet, controls and systems are easy to operate.
The History:
The C-22J is the last aircraft to be adorned with the legendary Caproni name. Originally known as "Caproncino", then marketed as "Ventura". A very-light jet developed in the 1980s as a military trainer, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft. Powered by two TRS-18 turbojets fed from a dorsal NACA intake, the aircraft reached Mach 0.47 and was fully aerobatic. The airframe shows its origin in a glider design, the Caproni A-21 Calif. After the merger with SIAI Marchetti, the project was cancelled in favor of the SF-260.
The Simulation - 3D Model:
This aircraft ships with a 3-D cockpit, that incorporates realistic night lighting, in the form of a dim dome flood light, backlit gauges and luminous digital displays. The flight crew of 2 is affected by your input in the payloads menu of Flight Simulator, allowing to choose between male, female or empty seats. The Copilot Figure can be hidden with a quick click in the internal 3D view as well.
The Simulation - Realism:
This aircraft has been tuned with the invaluable help of Engineer Carlo Ferrarin, who created the real aircraft. Unique and one-off documentation has been kindly provided, and used extensively, for the creation of this product!
Just like the real aircraft, the systems are simple and of easy operation. Engines can be started with the press of a button. Systems modelling allows the following of real-world checklists as closely as Flight Simulator allows. An in-sim checklist is included, as well as a full flight manual.
The flight model is tuned with advanced aerospace techniques, resulting in a highly realistic aircraft, yet, it is very pleasant to fly, both during aerobatic displays or "A to B" cruising.
Highlights:
- High-Resolution 3D cockpit
- Full Documentation
- Aerobatic
FS-2004 Version comes with limited support and is free due to platform limitations. See Readme. FS-X & P3Dv4 (64-bit) versions are commercial products.

Somerset Airport (KSMQ), NJ |
![]() |
File Description:
Located 03 miles N of Somerville, New Jersey on 210 acres of land, Somerset is a public airport with one asphalt and two grass runways, the longest of which is 2733' in length. The turf runways have no hard surfaces and you will be landing on terrain so have your mesh set as high as possible - both runways are still selectable in the ATC window for landing/takeoff announcements. AI aircraft will not use them. The helipad is a start location in front of the main terminal if a parking location is not wanted to begin helicopter flights. Parking is divvied up into three categories - GA_SMALL spots will accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 40 feet. GA_MEDIUM spots will accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet. GA_LARGE spots are named to identify locations suitable for starting in a glider if you wish to do so. They can also accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet. In addition to tie downs, there are 13 hangars open for parking in various locations - they can be identified by GA_DOCK. Only the N Parking hangar can accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet - all other hangers are suitable only for aircraft with wingspans no greater than 40 feet. Several of the hangars have attendants - look beside the doors for the NAV2 frequency to set for opening them. AI aircraft will only spawn on the north tarmac/hangars (largely to prevent AI traffic crossing the runway on taxi). All objects and static aircraft in the immediate vicinity of parking and taxiways have collision disabled. If your aircraft has a wingspan greater than 40 feet it is NOT recommended that you taxi down the middle taxiway leading to the main tarmac from N Parking as you will not clear the hangars - go either via the NW taxiway past the grass tie downs (NW Parking) or around East to the next taxi way on the other side of the east hangars (E Parking) which has more wing clearance. Fuel is available on both tarmacs north and south of the runway by stopping on the asphalt in front of the tanks/pump.
Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

XP11 German Scenery EDHK 2018+ Kiel-Holtenau |
![]() |
File Description:
The small Zip-file will include a link for scenery download, because the scenery file size is above 500 Mbyte. Just follow the link and download EDHK 2018. This is an "install and fly" version, everything you need is already included (*see info below) and I will continously update the scenery. The story, in November 2012 the German MFG5 (Marineflieger-Geschwader) was relocated to Nordholz (ETMN). This was the end of the main military use in the southern and eastern part of the airport. Because the German harbor city Kiel needs living space for their citizens, opponents of the airport tried to convince citizens and politics to close the airport and to create there living space instead. In 2018 the citizen of Kiel voted with a citizen’s decision with the result that the majority voted for the preservation of the traditional airport. Personally, I am very happy with this decision. On the area of the airport some companies are settled, their employees should be able to sleep a little better now. In addition, there will certainly be future investments in the airport due to the election results. Since the airport has been financially in the red for years, the operator of the airport, the Port of Kiel Flughafen GmbH & Co. KG has converted large areas of the airport as parking area. These parked vehicles are part of the constantly increasing cruise ship operations within Kiel, making it possible for passengers to safely park their vehicles for extended periods of time. The taxiways “A†and “D†of EDHK are no longer in operation. This was of course taken into account in my scenery. The access to this taxiway was marked as in the original by yellow "X". The taxiway lighting was also turned off there. The on-site Luftsportverein (LSV) uses above the runway 08/26 an individually marked grass runway (not official), I called it 08S/26S and it is for the winch launch of their gliders only. The size of this provisional winch runway is about 820x20m. A glider takeoff by towing aircraft is usually handled by the Runway 08/26.(*) There is no copyright infringement, since I have received all the needed permissions to use the listed objects/libraries full or in parts within my scenery, the same for the single objects or non-Library bound objects/elements.
