FS2004 Tutorial: Gauge graphics, Part 1. This comprehensive article describes methods for simulating gauge bodies, data windows, controls, and panel cutouts. Shadows, transparencies, text, beveling, feathering, contouring, textures, illumination, plus a host of other techniques are detailed. Over 300 illustrations were used to show how the graphics for an example FS gauge were created. The demo gauge is fully functional and available separately for D/L, file PatGauV1.zip. | Lear 45 with Custom Gauges |

File Description:
FS2004 Panel: Lear 45 custom panel. This panel was modified to hold eight custom gauges; Autopilot Input Pad, Super Timer 2, Parking brake, Landing gear Auto-up, Power seat, ClearVu, Lear Avionics switch, and a Call sign plate. Plus, other modifications were made within Lear_45.gau which will display aircraft spec data on the EICAS. Many default gauges were relocated, changed in size, etc. to give a functional panel that makes IFR flying with the Lear a pleasure. By Glenn Copeland

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: AI Radar, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). This gauge has five ranges from 1 NM to 30 NM. It displays all moving aircraft in green within the selected range. A switch will allow static aircraft to also be displayed in white when desired. Traffic Advisory (TA) aircraft are displayed in yellow, Resolution Advisory (RA) aircraft are shown in red. AI aircraft have their relative altitudes pinned to each aircraft symbol. Bearing to an aircraft can be obtained using the optional 360-degree sweep cursor. For panel or separate window installation. FS2004 Gauge: Cockpit Commander. This 28-push button powerhouse will greatly simplify life in a busy cockpit. It uses a numeric pad to enter frequencies into Comm 1 and C2, Nav 1 and N2, and the ADF. It will set headings, course, altitude, VS, and IAS airspeed functions on the AP. Gauge contains an efficient layout for ATC responses for use during hectic IFR approaches because they are located on gauge by autopilot. Has K-key for quick "000" entry. FS2004 Gauge: sRadar80, navigational radar- This nose-mounted, forward-scanning radar will display simulated echoes from ground-based targets that will assist navigation. Screen blips represent FS objects located within the simulator world. With six ranges available (2nm-80nm), cross-country radar navigation and low visibility approaches are possible (see pictures). Scan sensitivity (GAIN) allows adjustments to minimize screen clutter. On-screen wiper scan, push-to-display nm scale, plus many other features. File Description:
FS2004 Gauge- Check Gear Lamp. This is a generic gauge for all types of aircraft. It will issue two alerts; the first is a orange Caution to CHECK GEAR. If wheels are not extended and the aircraft continues with the landing approach, the second alert will then activate. It is a red Warning to CHECK GEAR. Lamps have Push-To-Test function. After takeoff, gauge will automatically enter a Standby mode and will signal that the gear position will be monitored during the next approach and landing.

FS2004 Panel, F16 Air Show Tour. The panel of this jet fighter has been designed for cross country flying to events worldwide. The 2D cockpit is packed with new gauges that complement this high performance, yet docile aircraft. All gauges, lights, etc. are functional, easy to read, and are panel installed except GPS 500. For long distance flights, the panel contains on-demand refueling capabilities for both ground and air operations. A few of the new gauges are; 180-degree scan navigational radar, triple mode interceptor-refueling-terrain radar, refueling gauge with command screen, fuel center with time/distance remaining computer, new Descentometer for Mach-plus aircraft, analog engine gauges including thrust and fuel efficiency, plus a hangar full of warning and indicator lights. The intercept mode of the ai-radar feeds info to the autopilot to assist in the rendezvous with tanker to allow all-weather, day or night air refueling. Digital data for AP, radio, altimeter, timer, and Descentometer is input via a central keypad. Acknowledge ATC instructions using joystick. Designed for use with Kirk Olsson's F16 Viper. FS2004 SuperTimer2. This gauge has a dual timer and a clock that displays both Zulu or Local time in a 24-hour format. Each timer operates independently with reset, start, and stop features. Both record to 9:59:59. All eight buttons give a positive visual feedback when pressed. You can record total flight time on one timer and use the other timer for all other timing needs, plus keep the Zulu or Local time visible continously. Two installation options, panel or window. FS2004 Gauge: 4thHand- This landing gear computer will automatically raise and lower retractable gear. It has analog adjustments to tailor both gear-up and gear-down functions to the needs of various aircraft. Once set to the preferences of the pilot, 4thHand cycles through the takeoff and landing phases without further attention. It will remains active for an entire FS session and continue to do its job regardless of the number of takeoff/landing cycles. File Description:
This FS2004 views package converts the C-87 panels for use with wide screen monitors. You must already have the C-87 Liberator Express by Glenn Duncan and Richard Garden installed on your computer and, obviously, a wide screen monitor. These bitmaps and files were created for a 16:9 format but should work reasonably well in 16:10 format. After installation, you can still return to 4:3 format by changing two filenames.
IMPORTANT: This upgrade will NOT WORK correctly with the other C-87 Liberator Express V2 created by Jim Nelson and Jaap de Baaret and it might damage that installation. Don't do that to their fine creation.
