P-51D 44-72557 was assigned to 1Lts Winnen & Alston of the 457th FS/506th FG, based on Iwo Jima in 1945 The name Hel-eter was a contaction of the name of Lt.Winnen's wife (Helen) and son (Peter) Repaint for the Shockwave WWII Fighters Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by John Terrell.

P-51D 15th FG/78th FS Iwo Jima 100 "Jeanne VIII"

File Description:
P-51D-20 44-63973 was assigned to Major James M. Van de Hey, the CO of the 78th FS. He was a highly experienced veteran fighter pilot, who had scored his first victories flying a P-40 with the 45th FS in january 1944. He shot down a 'Dinah' on 7 april 1945, on the first VLR mission to Tokio. Jim van de Hey retired from the USAF in 1971 as a brigadier general. Repaint of the Shockwave WWII Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on paintkit by John Terrell.

42-76464, a P-47D-20, was assigned to Lt Floyd N Hass of the 391st FS/366th FG from Asch (Y29) in Belgium, january 1945. It was belly-landed by Lt Sampson after he'd been hit by flak. Repaint for the Shockwave P-47D by Jan Kees Blom.
