| Tutorial: working with Textured Polygons in SBuilder |
|
File Description:
The third Tutorial using Sbuilder. This one looks at using Textured Polygons to create airport ground features. It uses the project file created in the first tutorial as the basis and replaces the land class runways and airfield with ones made using textured polys. I also cover flattens and a bit about creating slopes.
All feedback and suggestions much appreciated. Support available at www.scruffyduck.plus.com

| Tutorial: Modify Landclass and Add Roads with SBuilder |
|
File Description:
This is a follow up to my Tutorial on using SBuilder and AFCAD2 to regress an Airfield to an earlier time (available from my website www.scruffyduck.plus.com). It builds on from that tutorial and describes adding modified landclass around the airfield and adding an access road using VTP2 lines. Whilst this tutorial was designed as part of a series on creating earlier age airfields the techniques in both should be of interest and use in the modern era if you are developinh, or wish to develop, scenery using SBuilder. Future Tutorials will look at placing 3d scenery objects and other SBuilder related topics.
Support from my website. All feedback much appreciated

| Adding NAV and ADF Radio Tuners - an Illustrated Tutorial |
|
File Description:
Adding NAV and ADF Radio Tuners - an Illustrated Tutorial. This very brief Tutorial will show you how to add these navigational devices to virtually any aircraft - as a popup window. This is something you may wish to apply to Vintage craft as they seldom are so equipped. The default Piper Cub, which comes with a "handheld" radio, is used in the tutorial to demonstrate the concept. Only stock FS2004 gauges and radios are used so nothing else is required. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary location. The project was compiled in .doc format by David "Opa" Marshall and is based upon ideas and material provided by Mark Smith. Enjoy!

| Afcad - Some Tips and Tricks |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Afcad Tips and Tricks - an Illustrated Tutorial. Although Lee Swordy's indispensible program includes very complete documentation, this tutorial illustrates several of the less obvious things you can do with the program. Topics include creating a quick flatten, decorating the edges of a runway, use of the polygon feature to enhance terrain adjacent to an airport, drawing "roads", creating invisible taxiways, moving or removing the Helicopter "H" and use of the "jump here" command. Even if you are an experienced user of Afcad, you will likely find some useful ideas in this tutorial. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

After consulting with a number of people it has been discovered that there are some
unfortunate short-comings in the Polygon seperation technique. This new paper will

| ILS Approach Editing Tutorial |
|
File Description:
This is a little tutorial (illustrated text in PDF format) on creating ILS approaches using ADE9x and getting them to work with flightsim ATC. It also contains a few notes on flying ILS approaches.
The reason I created this tutorial is that I had such a heck of time getting this to work (adding ILS approaches for runways that had none in the past, and getting ATC to use them), so I thought I might as well try to spare others following the same path some of the troubles and headaches I went through.
The tutorial is specifically addressed to FS2004, but almost everything in it should also apply to FSX.
