File Description: The ScreenShot ToolBox is a utility that will bring out the artist in you! Screenshots are a great way to immortalize your FS flight adventures, moments that can be shared with your FS buddies and uploaded to forums for all the world to enjoy. Some screenshot artists are very skilled, applying similar techniques used by real-world photographers in their use of angles, lighting and shot composition. With the TweakFS ScreenShot ToolBox you can easily display, create, manage, edit, uploaded, download and email FS screenshots. The major feature is the Apple "Coverflow" style 3D display system. The built-in ScreenShot Creator supports automatically adding a logo, a banner and standard text (either separately or simultaneously) at the same time the snapshot is take, or can be added later. The logo and banner adding feature supports the use of images with transparent backgrounds and objects with shadows, such as PNG (Portable Network Graphics) and PSD (Adobe Photoshop) files. The logo/banner and text feature all support alpha-blending or transparency.

XML File ToolBox

File Description: This tool is an aid that allows you quickly and easily (+ safely) analyze/enable/disable/edit and create the four major XML files used by FSX: DLL.XML (Loads DLL files), EXE.XML (Loads EXE files), SimConnect.XML (Enables/Disables SimConnect clients) and Standard.XML (Default KeyMapping File). This is basically an in-house tool used by TweakFS to quickly make changes to the XML files during testing and has been reworked and released as a freeware tool for the benefit of all flight simmers.

File Description: The ScreenShot Viewer is a free utility that displays your FS screenshots in Apple "Coverflow" 3D style. This 3D ScreenShot Viewer is one of the many features included in the application it is derived from, the ScreenShot ToolBox (see file ID 145065 - sstoolbox.zip). The ScreenShot Viewer is a stand-alone application. No installation as such is required, just unzip and launch the ScreenShotViewer3D.exe file from any location and select a screenshot folder with JPG images. A folder containing some sample screenshots created with the ScreenShot ToolBox (sample_screens) is included in the ZIP.

TweakFS Open Installer

File Description:
The TweakFS Open Installer is designed to run and create open, Zip-based installations which allow the end-user to view the contents of the package and decide which files are overwritten. Users can even add or remove files from the installation if they wish. It can be used by developers who normally release their creations as Zip files but who want to automate the process. QuickPlan for Windows

File Description: QuickPlan for Windows is a visual point and click flight planner that makes it easy to generate flight plans in native FSX, FS2004 or X-Plane formats. The entire route is generated visually, by tapping the map to add the departure airport, intermediate waypoints and arrival airport in the same order that you intend flying the plan. During plan creation and after adding the final arrival waypoint you also have the opportunity to remove any of the intermediate waypoints before saving the plan in your preferred format. QuickPlan utilises a new mapping engine and includes 12 world-wide map styles and has support for FSWidgets Cloud Based Aero Charts (free Cuba/Puerto Rico WAC Cloud Based Chart included) and FSWidgets Cloud Based World Nav Data (Free KSFO - San Francisco Bay area Nav Data included). QuickPlan can be used in Freeform Mode, Advanced Mode, or a combination of both. FREEFORM MODE: Simply click anywhere on the map and QuickPlan will allow you to add it as a generic waypoint. VFR pilots often use towns, lakes and other unique geographic features and with QuickPlan you can add any geographical location shown on the base map. Plans created this way label the waypoints automatically with generic names (e.g. DEP, WP1, WP2, ARR). If desired, the entire route from departure to arrival can be created without reference to any navigational aids or official airports. This is handy for bush pilots who often use unlicensed airfields and small landing strips (or seaplane landing areas). Helicopter pilots can also quickly create plans that depart from off-airport locations like building rooftops or land on a road. ADVANCED MODE: If you own the FSWidgets Cloud Based World Nav Data product you can create more advanced flight plans by clicking on any of the icons displayed on the map to add them as waypoints - airports, VOR's, NDB's and intersections (data for the KSFO area is included free). Plans created this way label the waypoints automatically with airport and navigational aid identifiers taken from the Nav Data (e.g. KSFO, OSI, LV, FABLA). FSX Zip Utility

File Description:
FSX Zip is a useful tool for unpacking Zip files downloaded from FS file libraries without the need for an existing 3rd-party Zip application, but the big handy feature is that it has a tree display of the Zip folder structure giving you a clear view of how the files will unpack and into which location. This folder layout display is also be useful for developers creating Zips to distribute their own work and aids in checking that no files are missing from the archive. It is "FSX aware" and can automatically detect the FSX folder location. Due to this feature it has several handy folder location presets making it quick and easy to install aircraft, scenery and other add-ons which come in Zip files that include folder path information. Many Zip files downloaded from FS libraries have a specific folder structure which the author has included and is required so all files go into their correct locations, and with this utility generally all you will need to do is: 1) Drag and Drop the Zip file onto the "Extract Zip" page, 2) Select the "Extract & Preserve Folder Structure" option, 3) Check the "Extract to Specific FSX Folder" option, 4) Select the preset folder location from the drop-down box and 5) Click the "UnZip" button. It has a small file size when zipped (around 940 KB) and can be freely distributed by freeware/commercial developers to help users install their files. The Create Zip tab also supports Zip Comments for adding any other information such as copyright notices.

FSX Registry Utility

File Description:
The FSX Registry Utility has been designed to help sort out FSX registry problems and avoid the need to re-install FSX, such as when manually copying a FSX installation to another drive or when the registry entry goes missing for any reason. Many FSX applications and their installers depend on knowing the path to the fsx.exe file as reported in the Windows Registry. But what if the registry entry has been corrupted or deleted when reinstalling Windows? Manually copying the FSX folder to another folder or drive will also invalidate the registry entry. This may in some cases prevent an FSX add-on from working correctly (i.e. it cannot find FSX on your system). The FSX Reg Utility was prepared especially for users with custom setups or who manually copied the FSX installation to another folder or drive and reformatted their drives, but want to retain their FSX installation with all its add-ons. Using this utility may avoid the need to reinstall FSX and allows you to restore the path in the registry quickly and easily in the case that you are not confident editing the Registry yourself.
