File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Spitfire in the colors of Spitfire Mk Vb EP829 T-N, the aircraft of Squadron Leader Joseph Lynch, the CO of No 249 squadron, based in Malta 1943. Sqn Ldr Lynch was an 'Eagle' squadron veteran, originally from California, and he became an ace flying this aircraft, shooting down 4 JU52's, a JU88 and a Caproni CA313. One of the JU52's was the 1000th axis aicraft destroyed by Malta's defences. Lynch later joined the USAAF, with a final score of 10 aircraft destroyed and 7 shared. EP829 survived the war and later ironically joined the Italian Air Force as MM4069. It flew with 51 Stormo, which 3 years earlier was involved in the attack on Malta.Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

| RAF Shepherds Grove - Suffolk, England |
|
File Description:
RAF Shepherds Grove is a former Royal Air Force station located 9.9 miles (15.9 km) north-east of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England.
The Station was originally built for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) Eighth Air Force during the Second World War. However the facility was not used by the USAAF and was opened by No. 3 Group RAF on 3 April 1944. The name came from a small copse nearby and the airfield is close to Walsham le Willows in Suffolk.
It was occupied by No. 196 Squadron RAF in January 1945 as a base for Operation Varsity, supporting the Rhine crossing.
Various American units occupied the station after WW2 but ended their use of the unit in December 1958.
On 22 July 1956, No. 82 Squadron RAF was activated at Shepherds Grove as a Thor missile unit. Thor launching sites were built on the main airfield and became operational in 1959.
The base was closed in 1966. Third party files are required - see the readme.txt for details.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX by Real Air. It shows Spitfire LF IXc OO-ARE as it looked around 1960 when flying as a target tug with Cogea in Belgium. Originally NH238, it went to the Dutch Air Force in 1946, where it flew as H-60 and H-103. It went to the Belgian Air Force in 1952, becoming SM-36. It was sold to Cogea of Ostend in 1956, and was used as a target tug until 1961 with the registration OO-ARE. It was sold to the UK, becoming G-MKIX. It was dameaged from a ground fuel explosion in Exter in 1961, but restored again. It went to the US in 1969, where it became N238V, returning to the UK again in 1979. It was last flown as NH238/D-A, but it was removed from the registry in 2002. It is rumored to be in storage at Greenham Common. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by RealAir.

The 1st Airlift Squadron is a member of the 89th Airlift Wing of the 21st Air Force. It, along with the rest of the 89th AW, is based at Andrews AFB. The 1st AS flies the 2nd most famous aircraft in the world: "Air Force Two". Although its primary function is to provide air transportation to the Vice President (and occasionally the President), they frequently fly the First Lady, members of Congress, and foreign and domestic VIPs. 4 C-32As (757-200) are flown and flightplans are provided for each. As a group, these 4 planes visit 86 nations in the Americas (sans the Caribbean), Europe, Asia (sans the Mideast) and Oceania. Australia and Canada are toured extensively. The visits last between 1 & 6 hours. PAL would like to thank AI Aardvark for creating the most GPU friendly !->&<-! eye friendly 757-200 in the hobby and Tony Fosler for painting the AIA 757-200 in eye catching C-32A USAF colors.
