File Description:
In 1982 Australian businessman and aviation enthusiast Dick Smith opted to fly his new Bell Jetranger 206B III back to Australia from the Bell Helicopter plant at Fort Worth, Texas. Nobody had ever flown a rotary-winged aircraft solo across the Atlantic and nor had they flown solo around the world. Dick was to accomplish both feats in 1982/1983. This package represents Stage 1 of the round-the-world flight; from Fort Worth, across to the eastern seaboard of the USA, to New York, on into Canada, to Baffin Island, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Scotland and finally London, England, where Dick had a three-week holiday with his family before commencing Stage 2 - London to Sydney.

This is a beginner mission for P3DV2 or V3. You are a pilot for hire for a sightseeing business in New Castle, South Africa. You conduct tours of the area looking for different animals. This mission uses the Bell 430 chopper but you can substitute a chopper of your choice.

You can faintly see the orginal Marlborough Helicopters name under the Air America title. This helicopter operates from Omaka Aerodrome, Blenheim New Zealand.

File Description:
Textures for the FSX default Bell 206B. These represent five TH-57C Sea Rangers, the training variants of the Bell 206B used by the US Navy, US Marine Corps and UC Coast Guard. 119 TH-57 were delivered and are assigned to Helicopter Training Squadrons Eight (HT-8) and Eighteen (HT-18), both part of Training Air Wing Five (TAW-5) at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Florida. Three textures are NAVY Sea Rangers and two are MARINES Sea Rangers. One texture, MARINES 80, represents the aircraft assigned to the Commanding Officer of HT-8. I initially created a Sea Ranger texture for practicing landing on small ships (especially warships). I then created a further four textures for Multiplayer flying and missions, such as formation flying.

This scenery was created to pay tribute to mariners and scientists of Amundsen (A Canadian Coast-guard scientific icebraker) for their scientific and humanitary (medical) mission far up in Northern Canada. Included : original icebraker with landable helizone, inuit village (Paulatuk CYPC), marine shuttle, people, quads, CCG livery for FSX default Bell 206 and... polar bears!
