B17 Flying Fortress Download

File Description:
The B17 is arguably the best known heavy bomber from WWII. Followed closely by it's direct successor the B29 SuperFortress it symbolizes the best of WWII's heavy Bombers. The B17 was one of the planes that barely made it into the war. In 1934 the then very small Boeing company had a prototype four engined bomber design called the B-299 but it had not been ordered by the US military. It had suffered several serious setbacks in it's design competition including a crash during a fly-off. Boeing continued work the plane and eventually secured a small service test order and the troubled early history of the bomber began. The B17 and bombers like it were planes created as "strategic bombers". The essential idea was that a strategic bomber should be able to carry a very large payload for long distances. The military had come to the realization that bombing technology was by nature imprecise even with new advances like the American Norden sight, and what was required was a large number of bombs delivered by large number of planes to assure that a target was destroyed. Although the Germans actually had a decent "smart bomb" and the British built specialty bombs, neither was reliable, so it seemed the best idea was just to blanket the target with bombs. An American extension to this concept was that of a self-defended bomber. Bombers could be built so tough and with so much defensive armament, it was thought, that they could simply fly to the target, drop bombs, and if necessary fight their way through fighters to get home. There would be security in the large number of bombers in formations, and the defensive capability would allow bombers to fly during the day for better accuracy in drops. It was to this design concept the B17 was built. Early experiences in the war with B17's and B-24's could only be termed as disastrous. Loss rates of up to 25% showed the concept of unescorted bombers in daytime to be entirely wrong. Escort fighters were a necessity for success. It soon became apparent that with fighter cover the B17 really was an unparalleled strategic bomber. Success for the B17 shot up dramatically, and it's initial design specifications of huge amounts of armor and gunner positions served it well when fighters did make it close in. The Fortress had enough strength to stave off attackers until escorts showed up, and it became legendary for the incredible punishment it could take and still make it home. Savoia Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero (V.01) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
It was the most important Italian bomber of World War II, this tough three-engined aircraft established a reputation that contrasted with most Italian weapons of the day, and it was flown with courage and skill. SM.79s served widely in the normal bombing role, but it is as a land-based torpedo bomber that the type deserves its place in military aviation history, being regarded by many as one of the finest torpedo bombers of the war.

The basic design continued the company's tradition of mixed construction with steel tubes light alloy wood and fabric (this being the only way to produce in quantity with available skills and tools); in spite of its cumbersome appearance and outdated construction, the S.M.79 was a rugged, reliable multi-role medium bomber which did quite a bit of damage in the face of heavy opposition. About 1,300 production models were built over a nine year period. They had internal provision for 2,750 lb (1,250 kg) of bombs, supplemented by under fuselage rack for a torpedo. The SM.79 had a distinctive 'hump' on the upper forward fuselage, which housed both the fixed forward-firing heavy machine-gun and the dorsal gunner's position. Its appearance earned the aircraft the nickname 'Gobbo Maledetto' ('Damned Hunchback'). Post-war surviving SM.79s were converted into various versions of utility transports during the last phases of the war and survived in that role until 1952.

Complete aircraft. 4 Different Hi-Res GMax models (4 different versions), features the usual moving parts, such as all flight controls, props pitch and leading edge flaps. Six different liveries (2 Regia Aeronautica, 1 A.N.R./R.S.I. , 2 Spanish Nationalist Air Force, 1 Italian Co-Belligerant Air Force); VC only. Tested in FSX. Original CFS3 Model by Italianwings, converted and modified for FS2004 by Manuele Villa, January 2008. Installation instructions and paint-kit included.

KLGB Long Beach Airport - Modernized terminal Download

File Description:
The airport I chose is Long Beach Airport. This airport has been around for many years and has had everything from the Air Force One to the 787 Dreamliner land here! The airport is located between downtown Los Angeles and Orange County and offers a great landing for tourists that do not want to land in the fifth busiest airport in the world, Los Angeles International.

The reason why I decided to create this airport was because it is my home airport and I am located only about five miles from it. Also, there is no good freeware FSX scenery for this airport.

Features included!:
- Modern Terminal with correct gate placements
- changed and edited roads and other buildings around airport
- added the jetBlue offices on the airport
- Cars added (all over the place!!!)
- trees added near drop off (California Palm trees)!
- baggage cars and other airport cars added.
- buses and car parking lots added
- "spring street" flight schools and private terminal added.
- Vehicles, AI aircraft, grave yard aircraft, and many other static joys throughout the airport!
- "Runup" aircraft near runway 34R.
- Boeing C-17 facility (no aircraft C17 there)
- updated taxi ways and heliports
- Airport Service vehicle roads updates and made with help from Google Earth.
- Accurate fence, jetblast fence, and boarders of airport.
- Cargo terminals added for ups and dhl
- Private (gulfstream and other private) jet spots added.
- Flight Schools such as Long Beach Flight Academy (one I go to!!!) accurately made.

Aeritalia G91Y 8 Stormo Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Fiat G91Y was a reconnaissance and ground-attack aircraft produced by Italian company FIAT as an evolution of Fiat G91. The first flight took place in 1966. It was a complete redesign, but the major difference was that G91Y installed 2 engines, in order to increase the power and the capability to survive to damages during war operations. The single Bristol Orpheus turbojet engine of G91 was then replaced by two afterburning General Electric J85 turbojets which increased thrust by 60% over the single-engined variant.
Structural modifications to reduce airframe weight increased performance further and an additional fuel tank occupying the space of the G.91T's rear seat provided extra range. Combat manoeuvrability was improved with the addition of automatic leading edge slats.
Flight testing of three pre-production aircraft was successful, with one aircraft reaching a maximum speed of Mach 0.98. Airframe buffeting was noted and was rectified in production aircraft by raising the position of the tailplane slightly. An initial order of 55 aircraft for the Italian Air Force was completed by Fiat in March 1971. The order was increased to 75 aircraft with 67 eventually being delivered. The first pre-series 'Yankee' (the nickname of the new aircraft) flew in July 1968.

AMI (Italian Air Force) placed orders for two batches, 35 fighters followed by another 20, later cut to ten. The last one was delivered around mid 1976, so the total was two prototypes, 20 pre-series and 45 series aircraft. No export success followed. These aircraft served with 101° Gruppo/8° Stormo (Cervia-S.Giorgio) from 1970, and later, from 1974, they served with the 13° Gruppo/32° Stormo (Brindisi) until the early '90s, as the only ones equipped with the 'Yankee', using them as attack/recce machines, both over ground and sea, until the AMX replaced them. HD textures in 4096 x 4096. complete resize and paint 32bit HD. Virtual cockpit HD. Native model for FSX & P3D

Airbus A318 FD Special Version V3 - Complete Pack Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the new version of my Airbus A318 with the Panel in V3 opened on the A321. I remind you that this aircraft is based on the Project Airbis A318, with an ehanced panel based on the work of stefan Liebe.

This latest development can see the more realistic Airbus available as freeware. With a new version of the panel, the aircraft has a 100% cold & dark Status at the start of a flight, a real fuel system management with all valves, piumps and crossfeed work, the complete Bleed circuit with X-bleed, a real engines manual startup procedure like the real aircraft. I have also ehanced the navigation display with TCAS function in ARC and NAV mode; There is also the engines failure procedure to work (fire, oil leaks....) and many improved function that I cannot describe here. The aircraft comes with user manual in English and in French, and it is essantial to read it before you fly.

All the functions of the V2 have been kept and improved, like the vertical navigation gauge, the terrain radar map on the navigation display, the autolanding function, the SFCC. Aircraft comes with 6 liveries (Air France and 5 Frontier liveries realized by Project Airbus Team). This version is only in CFm engines, but with real engine data (CFM56-5B9). Now, the Fly By wire works in 2 modes: "Normal Law" and "Direct Law". I put 300 hours into the development of this panel and I hope that you will like it. In the coming weeks, I will adapt this panel to the A319 V2 and A320 V2, that are the these are the last aircrafts that I must update with this new panel. Please, note that this panel is the v3.05 version, witch fixes the bugs of the first version that came with the A321 (there is an update panel for the A321). Francois Dore
