GlassWing is a four place, all metal sport biplane made for mountain flying. It offers superb climb rates, very short field capabilities and a high service ceiling. With its transparent skin, every major aircraft component is visible: spars, ribs, hinges and more. Right down to the spark plugs. It is a good visual tool for any flight school. It also shows the relationship between power and trim.
GlassWing can haul almost 700 pounds into remote regions, for scenic and challenging flights. With its 300 horsepower V8 engine, it climbs like a homesick angel and can turn on a dime. This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FS2004 Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured are the C-54A's (modified to DC-4 standard) G-AOFW and G-AREK in the colours of British United Airways in 1961.
In December 1955 Freddie Laker's Air Charter acquired the C-54A G-AOFW 'Jason' for transport work in Germany and trooping flights from Stansted to Cyprus. In 1959 the aircraft was moved from trooping flights to service on the route Southend to Calais flying passengers on one-day trips without a passport till 1 July 1960 when Air Charter was merged into British United. In April 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd started converting G-AOFW to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry aircraft. The first flight as a Carvair took place from Stansted on 11 February 1964. C-54A G-AREK was purchased by British United Airways in August 1960. The aircraft was earmarked to become a Carvair. Conversion started in December 1961. The first flight as a Carvair (all-cargo version) took place from Stansted on 2 November 1962.

Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Part 12). The B-52 first flew in 1952, the last one was built in 1961, and there are still over 90 of the original 744 airframes either in front-line service or in a ready-reserve status. With extensive avionics upgrades starting this year, the USAF plans on using the B-52s until 2045, 93 years after first flight. The aircraft has an impressive resume, having served in five shooting wars and was the backbone of Strategic Air Command's nuclear deterrent air component during almost forty years of Cold War service.
Jake Burrus started this AI traffic model a couple of years ago, and I was honored to pick up the project and get it across the finish line, with no small amount of help from Mike MacIntyre, as usual. This is a 7-LOD AI traffic model representing the Stratofortress in all of its operational service. This is part 12, showcasing the B-52H used from 1993 to 2000; with a total of 32 repaints. Also included are optional models for VFR traffic use. Aircraft model by Jake Burrus and Mike Pearson, master textures and repaints by Mike Pearson, flight dynamics by Mike MacIntyre.
