Next to the Dutch Air Force this base was also used by the US Air Force and the section where they were stationed was named Camp New Amsterdam. Runway 9-27 for take-off and landings. Due to budget cuts in the Dutch Army, the Air Base closed in November 2008

Additionally, supports FedEx, UPS and Air Transport International cargo ops. Features expanded cargo parking including the new FedEx cargo area north of the terminal building. Taxiways and taxi signs have been corrected.
