A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of G-PBYA, originally ordered for the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Canso A amphibian, basically equivalent to the US Navy PBY-5A. It was built by Canadian Vickers at Cartierville, Quebec and was allocated their constructors number CV-283 before adopting the RCAF serial 11005. It was taken on charge by the air force on 27 October 1943 and initially saw service with 9 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron at Bella Bella on the British Columbia coast between Vancouver and Prince Rupert. It was on their inventory from November to the following August. 9 Squadron had been based at Bella Bella for some time prior to the arrival of Cansos, having operated Supermarine Stranraers there. The Cansos were mainly operated from water despite their amphibious undercarriages and were used on day and night patrols, looking out for enemy submarines. By mid-1944, the threat of a Japanese invasion of Western Canada had receded and it was decided to disband 9 Squadron and close the station at Bella Bella. The Cansos, including 11005, were flown to Alliford Bay in the Queen Charlotte Islands, also in British Columbia, and transferred to 7 (BR) Squadron in August. The job was the same – anti-submarine patrols mostly – and 11005 remained with 7 Sqn until it too was disbanded on 25 July 1945. After a post-war career as transport and waterbomber, it was acquired by Plane Sailing in 2004, restored and repainted as a OA-10A of the USAAF. It is based in Duxford. | DC-3/C-47 Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Sound Set |

File Description:
This is a scratch built full 3D sound set for Manfred Jahn & Team's wonderful C-47 Skytrain package. While flying the C-47 in the sim I felt there was some room left to improve the engine sounds. And what started as messing around with parameters ended up in me composing an entirely new sound set starring the Pratt & Whitney R-1830.
The sound set attempts to push the boundaries of what is possible in FSX/P3D. If you fly the C-47 in a realistic manner, this sound set will provide a realistic sound environment. No less than 17 samples are used per engine in order to recreate the external sound environment (everything 44,1KHz high quality audio) while making extensive use of sound cones to cover all the angles. In fact this sound set uses source material from 4 real life C-47As.
All of the aforementioned results in a "study level" sound set that hopes to do justice to the real thing.

File Description: For Manfred Jahn's C-47 with Jan Visser's VVC, version 3.14 repaint of N64784,
Dream-Aire. Operated from Lausanne airport in Switzerland from 1986 till 1994. Besides the outside, the inside and the pilot's got a different look. Also

This are textures only, You need to download and install DC4_V21.ZIP by J. B. Kristensen!
These textures decipt HK-1808 (c/n 10669) originally delivered april 1945 as a C-54D to the USAAF, later cvtd. to SC-54D. The aircraft entered the Colombian register 1975 as HK-1808 and served initially with TANA Colombia. In 1978 bought by Taxi Aereo El Venado and sold 1979 to Aeronorte and later to Transamazonica, subsequently crashed 19.6.1986 on approach to La Macarena, Columbia
