File Description:
Corporate owned DC-3 G-AJRY. In October 1962 the aircraft was purchased by the International Telegraph Corporation of the United Kingdom. On 19 November 1962 upon transfer to the UK she was allocated a new identity G-ASDX. The British ARB then noticed that the constructor's number for G-AJRY was the same as this new aircraft and assuming that G-AJRY had returned to the UK gave it that registration instead of G-ASDX! The aircraft worked under a subsidiary company Standard Telephones and Cables Ltd. STC had for many years been a leading supplier of airborne radio equipment to Armed Forces and commercial Airlines world-wide. In June 1970 it was sold to TD Keegan and was operated by Transmeridian Air Cargo. Requires default Douglas DC-3.

| FSX Basic Compatibility Update #1 for the MAAM-SIM R4D / DC-3 / C-47 CD |

File Description:
This update allows owners of the MAAM-SIM/DC-3/C-47 CD for FS2004 to install and use the FS9 aircraft in Flight Simulator X. If you are not an owner, you can obtain your copy from the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum Store www.maam.org and help a great organization restore some marvelous airplanes in the process. The update primarily addresses some changes in the panel and aircraft configurations, and gauges. It will also install thumbnail pictures for the FSX Select Aircraft Menu in FSX. Later MAAM-SIM updates will address further changes in FSX, including visual and flight dynamic changes. Updates all sixteen aircraft on the latest 9th Edition R4D/DC-3/C-47 CD, but can be used with any past edition of the CD. Includes illustrated installation instructions.

This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Trans-Texas Airways colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Trans-Texas Airways (TTA) began operations in 1940, at Houston, as an aircraft sales and service company named Aviation Enterprises. The name was changed to Trans-Texas Airways on June 21 1947, and scheduled Douglas DC-3 services were inaugurated on October 11. Initially, Trans-Texas Airways flew routes only within Texas, but the key year in the history of Trans Texas Airways was 1966. That year its route network was significantly strengthened by the acquisition of new feeder routes from Eastern Airlines. This gave them virtual control of the entire feeder route system of the U.S. Southwest. Following this, TTA became an international airline in August 1967, with flights to Monterrey, Tampico, and Vera Cruz in Mexico. The expansion, however, created financial difficulties for TTA. This led to a takeover of TTA, in late 1968, by Minnesota Enterprises. The stockholders then voted to change the company name and corporate image the following spring. Thus, on March 1 1969, Trans-Texas Airways became Texas International Airlines. Textures are DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3.

SkyHigh Audio Simulations is proud to present what is quite possibly the most realistic sounding Pratt & Whitney JT3D-7 Turbofan sound pack available! This sound pack is designed to work with Historic Jetliners Group's Douglas DC-8-63 and Boeing 707-320C models. There are two versions of this sound pack, one interior point of view from the cockpit, and the other being the passenger cabin POV in front of the engines. This sound pack includes many unique and realistic features, including realistic 3D sound cones giving a very realistic exterior sound experience, especially in the fly-by view mode. Also using the cone technology, realistic distant taxi howling and distant rumbling sounds are included. The plane could be heard loud and clear from up to 2km away in tower view! Realistic start up sounds featuring external air cart compressor howling noises are included. Realistic interior ambience noises such as the inverter noise and touchdown, flaps, gear sound with chime, and more are featured in this sound pack. This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FS2004 Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured are the C-54A's (modified to DC-4 standard) G-AOFW and G-AREK in the colours of British United Airways in 1961.
In December 1955 Freddie Laker's Air Charter acquired the C-54A G-AOFW 'Jason' for transport work in Germany and trooping flights from Stansted to Cyprus. In 1959 the aircraft was moved from trooping flights to service on the route Southend to Calais flying passengers on one-day trips without a passport till 1 July 1960 when Air Charter was merged into British United. In April 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd started converting G-AOFW to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry aircraft. The first flight as a Carvair took place from Stansted on 11 February 1964. C-54A G-AREK was purchased by British United Airways in August 1960. The aircraft was earmarked to become a Carvair. Conversion started in December 1961. The first flight as a Carvair (all-cargo version) took place from Stansted on 2 November 1962.

| KNILM Royal Netherlands Indies Airways Douglas DC-5 'PK-ADB' |

File Description:
The Douglas DC-5 was a high performance, short range, feederliner quickly eclipsed by the Lockheed Lodestar. The only airline to proceed with an order for the DC-5 was KLM who purchased four for use into Amsterdam. However the invasion of Holland caused their DC-5s to be delivered equally to KLM in the Dutch West Indies and KNILM in the Dutch East Indies instead. By late 1941 all were in the Dutch East Indies, the two ex-KLM WI aircraft (PK-ADC and PK-ADD) retaining their KLM livery. In 1942 one was captured by the IJAAF. The three survivors escaped to Australia. They were soon in use with 21 sqn RAAF and Ansett-ANA supplying ANZAC forces in New Guinea. Impressed by the USAAF 1944-45 they were then designated Douglas C-110s. One returned to Ansett-ANA serving in New Guinea 1946-47 before being sold to New Holland Airways. The prototype was converted to KLM production standard and was based in Seattle as Bill Boeing's corporate VIP aircraft from April 1940. It was impressed by the USN for VIP transport duties in February 1942 becoming the only R3D-3 until its sale for scrap in January 1946. Textures only.
