File Description:
Val-U-Prop is a rogue airline based in Bloomington, Indiana, that flies everything from VIPs to sheep manure anyplace and anytime. VP's motto is "No job too small; No fee too large," and our DC-3's, DC-4's, DC-6's and DC-8's can be seen hedge-hopping into various obscure airports throughout the world. This aircraft is an all-aluminum re-paint of the fabulous DC-3 OH-LCH by Jan Visser, Erik Ellis, Roy Chaffin, Ian Roper and Bill Rambow, to which FS2002 lights have been added. It has military capability, including machine guns and NUCLEAR/GPS/JDAM guided bomb launch. Panel includes everything on main panel, except for GPS and (optional) default radios, so there is no tabbing. The very aluminal wing views were shot by Thomas Klein, and the vintage C-47 cabin was photographed by Tom Turner. Gauges by James Underwood, Ernie Kennedy and Dai Griffiths. Re-upload. FSX/FS2004 DDA Douglas DC-4-1009 ZS-NUR/PH-DDS. This aircraft originally flew with South African Airways from 1946 till 1966, and a short interlude from 1968 till 1970, as ZS-AUA 'Tafelberg'. From 1966 till 1995 the DC-4 flew as a transport and later an electronics warfare aircraft with the South African Air Force, called 'Spook'. Its registration was 6901. In 1995 the aircraft was sold to Aero Air (Pty) Ltd as ZS-NUR. In 1995 the Dutch Dakota Association (DDA) purchased the ZS-NUR, christened 'Skymaster'. The DC-4 arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol on 5 May 1996. In 1997 she was re-registered PH-DDS. Due to the extremely tight regulations in the Netherlands, the DC-4 returned to South Africa in 2002 as ZS-AUA on long-term lease, first to Springbok Flying Safaris, later on to Rovos Air where she is still current (2008). Re-upload. FSX/FS2004 KLM Douglas C-54B-DC PH-DBZ. Built a C-54B-1-DC Skymaster at Chicago, IL, for the USAAF (c/n 10480). Powered by four 1,350 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2000-7 engines.After WW2 struck off and converted by Douglas at Santa Monica, CA (DC-4 conversion No. 67, powered by four 1,450 hp Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp 2SD13G engines). Sold on 15 January 1947 to Santa Fe Skyways as N90862 'Sky Chief Apache'. Sold on 24 May 1948 to KLM as PH-TEZ 'Zeeland'. Used as a freighter only. Re-registered PH-DBZ on 29 March 1954. Broken up in 1958. Remains sold on 20 April 1959 to Aviation Traders Ltd., Southend, UK. Fuselage used as a mock up for the ATL.98 Carvair. Tail section of fuselage used to replace damaged tail section of Carvair #1 in July-September 1961. You will require Jens B. Douglas DC-7 for AI Traffic. The DC-7 propliner was designed for long-range commercial transport, being one of the first aircraft to utilize the polar routes from Europe to North America. Although the DC-7 was a very advanced aircraft for its time of production, it was produced at the cusp of the commercial jetliner age and was quickly eclipsed by a new generation of air travel. Subsequently the DC-7 was not as commercially successful as its predecessors, and only a handful remain in the cargo and aerial firefighting roles. In conjunction with Jake Burrus, I present an 8-LOD AI traffic model to bring this classic transport aircraft to the flightsim world. This package includes 14 models, 40 repaints, and a Photoshop paint kit. The paints in this package focus on DC-7 use from the 1970s to present day, with a few vintage paints thrown in. Aircraft model and master textures by Jake Burrus and Michael Pearson, flight dynamics and repaints by Michael Pearson.

This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Aero Virgin Islands colors. The freeware DC-3 (C-47) by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Aero Virgin Islands began operations in the spring of 1977. The fleet was basically all DC-3s. Their route network consisted of flights to St. Thomas, and Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and San Juan, in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico-based airline Prinair was the company’s main competitor until their bankruptcy in 1984. Prinair’s failure gave the opportunity for Aero Virgin to be more involved in the region. However, the airline faltered as its aging fleet of DC-3s got many problems, which led to them virtually being unusable. Then, the total destruction of the DC-3 fleet occurred when Hurricane Hugo struck in September 1989. This is a repaint of N28346, which was destroyed in that Hurricane. Textures are 32bit DDS. This repaint was tested on P3D v3. It should also work on FSX & FSX-SE.
