Douglas A-20C Boston Dutch Naval Air Service Download

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas A-20C by Milton Shupe and his team. It shows Douglas DB7 Boston D52 of the Royal Dutch East Indies Navy, Andir, 6 March 1942. In december 1941, the Dutch government ordered 32 Douglas Boostons for the defence of the Dutch Indies after the outbreak of war in the Pacific. These aircraft were destined for the MLD, or Dutch Naval Air Service. The aircraft were painted in RAF camouflage colors and received Dutch orange triangles on the fuselage and the underside of the wings, together with a serial consisting of a D with a number and the text KON.MARINE on the nose. The aircraft were crated and shipped to the Dutch East Indies, with the first six arriving in Java on the 27th of February 1942, just a day before the Japanese landings in Java. The crates were unloaded in Tjilatjap. It was decided to try and assemble a few aircraft on the spot, in the harbor of Tjilatjap, while three crates were sent to Andir by train. Despite Japanese bombing raids on the harbor, the MLD technicians managed to assemble two Bostons in the harbor, and on the morning of the 5th of March, Lt Burgerhout, a Catalina pilot, took of from an improvised runway withh D52 and flew to Tasikmalaja, where it was planned to fill the aircraft with fuel for the flight to Andir air base. However, no suitable fuel was found. Before the second Boston could be flown out, the 'runway' was destroyed by a second Japanese bomb raid, so the ground crew destroyed the aircraft. The aircraft at Tasikmalaja was destroyed on the 8th of Mmarch, just before the capitulation of the Dutch East Indies. Of the aircraft transported by train, one was assembled, and this fell intact into the hands of the Japanese, who later used it for flight evaluations. The other two aircraft were destroyed by their ground crews. The other 26 Bostons still underway were diverted to Australia, and these later flew with no 22 squadron of the RAAF. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by William Ellis.

C-17 Globemaster III/ER Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The C-17 Globemaster III/ER is a heavy cargo aircraft used by several foreign militaries, but primarily the U.S. Air Force. She is designed to do many things that other cargo aircraft cannot, based on her unique design. This version incorporates the extended range fuel tanks. The real world aircraft can actually use reverse thrust in flight, up to 100% reverse power, during descents or on the ground. It is also the only heavy aircraft in the world with a wing efficiency factor over 1.0, which is theoretically impossible, but true. All of the dynamics in this model are correct down to the inch, so she does almost everything the real aircraft does. Some things are not possible in FSX, including reverse thrust while in flight, but full flaps/slats employed in a steep descent will adequately simulate this effect without damage to the model while in flight. The landing gear are authentic and capable of heavy loads. The weight and balance is authentic. The fuel tanks are authentic. The aircraft name, tail number, location, and callsign are authentic. The calculated range(s) listed are all authentic, understanding that most public data released is based on average range, at average altitude, and normal payload missions. The sound is authentic. The engine dynamics are authentic. The panel used is the best I could find, is fairly authentic, and requires some pre-flight study before flight. All-in-All the aircraft is very simple to fly, but requires some study to operate correctly, so I recommend all simmers watch as many "You Tube" videos, read as many authentic sites, and study as much as possible about this aircraft before operation. Model by: Bob Chicilo, Sound by: Devyn Silverstein, Panel by: Phillip Wallaert, Auto Smoke Effects by Richard Wisman/Douglas E. Trapp, Real World Aero/Engine Dynamics and modifications by: Douglas E. Trapp, FS Flight Dynamics Engineer, [email protected], July 2018, FOR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY. This aircraft is designed for educational use protected under the Fair Use Doctrine: (http://www.expertlaw.com/library/intellectual_property/fair_use.html). It cannot be sold or bundled for sale, and such will never be approved by me or the original authors. FREEWARE DISTRIBUTION ONLY!!! Douglas E. Trapp, [email protected], July 2018

Pegasus Aviation AI Pack: The Viscount Flies On Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In deepest darkest Africa, one Viscount can still be found flying commercially - with Pegasus Aviation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These files include the aircraft, appropriate AI flight plans and AFCAD files for some of the airports served. Although not a true "AI aircraft" it is unlikely to cause a strain on computer resources given the light demands of AI traffic and scenery in the Congo area on Flight Simulator. The aircraft is a modified version of Rick Piper's excellent Vickers Viscount 800 model available from http://www.btinternet.com/~rick.piper/ . If you wish to fly the Pegasus Aviation Viscount yourself, please download the original aircraft files from his site and install these textures to work with them - what is included here is not suitable for your own flying as the Flight Dynamics have been modified to work as AI traffic. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM] Footnote - since this file was first released in 2007, the aircraft has changed hands, it passed to Mango Airlines as 9Q-COD and is currently out of service at FZQA Lubumbashi. Sadly, it seems that the Viscount no longer flies on.

Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot (Part 6) Download

File Description:
Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot (Part 6). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this close air support aircraft. The Su-25, known as the Grach (Rook), was put into service in 1981, was designed as a comparable aircraft to the USAF A-10 Warthog, focused on battlefield close air support. Starting with Afghanistan, the Su-25 proved itself to be an extremely versatile and survivable aircraft, and has been in service ever since. Just over 1,000 were built in various models, and have been or are operated by thirty countries. An original 8-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world. This is part 6, combined with Parts 4 and 5, representing the Su-25 in all operational models (Su-25, Su-25M1, Su-25T, Su-25UB, Su-25UTG), in the past and current service of all export or Soviet successor states excluding the export users in part 1; with 34 models and 247 repaints. For those who only want one era or the other in their flightsim world, a detailed explanation of current or past users is in the documentation. Aircraft, textures, and flight dynamics by Michael Pearson.

World GA Traffic Download

File Description:
These AI flight plan files have been created as a replacement to (NOT an addition to) the default Microsoft FS2004 GA flight plans. If you already use proper AI flight plans for commercial traffic, this is ideal for you. The default flight plans, as many know, are far from realistic as traffic just flies back and forth between two airports at regular intervals throughout each 24-hour day. These replacement plans are far more realistic in that: a) Aircraft keep flying to different airports throughout the day, returning home in the evening. b) Each aircraft flies to different destinations on different days of the week, c) Evening flights are substantially reduced, d) Night flights are minimal, and e) Appropriate country-based tail numbers are used. The flights comprise a total of 25389 aircraft, flying to 5520 different airfields. There are no circuits or touch and go flights to hamper your landing. They use only the MS default aircraft and fly to and from the default GA airports in FS2004. The only vintage aircraft included in these plans are DC-3s and Piper Cubs.
