File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-22-RE 42-6319 D5-P "Astra", the assigned aircraft of Captain George Porter of the 386th FS/365th FG as it looked in August 1944, while based at Juvincourt (A-68), France. George Porter gained the tongue in cheek title of 'flak analyst extraordinaire' after a june 1944 mission, when the 386th FS lost three aircraft to AA. During debriefing, he referred to "only moderate, and only fairly accurate flak". On 5 september 1944, he chased a Me109 to the deck, and as he closed to 500 yards, the German pilot suddenly bailed out. Porter filmed the crash and pilot on the ground and was disappointed he hadn't even fired a shot. He needed to be convinced by intelligence officers to submit a claim. He received a silver star for an action on october 12, 1944, when he encountered about 40 german fighters.Attacking four, he hit one when his aircraft, D5-P, started leaking oil over the windshield. He attacked another FW190 nonetheless, scoring hits. He later bellied in near Diest, Belgium, severly damaging Astra, but remaining unhurt himself. The tail on his aircraft was a replacement from an older aircraft, which explains the wrong serial on the tail. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

File Description:
This is the first and only full freeware scenery released for VGHS/VGZR Dhaka, Bangladesh. This has been a work in progress since 2012, and in 2016 we decided to make it public beta for the Bangladeshi Flight Sim Community. The team wasn't able to work further on this and the project was taken over by another developer who worked alongside our team. After years of hard work, we finally were able to collaborate with Final Approach Design Simulations, and released the full and final version of this scenery for P3D V4-5, in the simMarket as payware. While the FSX version was untouched and not upgraded further, we wanted to publish it online as a freeware scenery and NO MORE A BETA TEST. We hereby have uploaded the scenery, and according to our EULA, we are HEREBY changing the clause that states it is only to be used by Bangladeshi and that it is a limited release. We HEREBY declare it a full release for FSX, and we are allowing all nationalities to use our software. We hope you enjoy this free release and if you are a P3D V4-5 user, go check out our final product in the simMarket under the title "HAZRAT SHAHJALAL DHAKA VGHS DAC P3D4-5" by "Final Approach Design Simulations".

| Airstrips of Central Germany |
|

File Description:
Another selection in my Airstrips of Western Europe project, herewith 80+ small airfields in central Germany, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields.
Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration.
As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them.
Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the included text file. There may be some details of note or interest.

| B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270 |
|
File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #2. Pilot: Lt. Travis Hoover, Co-Pilot: Lt. William N. Fitzhugh, Navigator: Lt. Carl R. Wildner, Bombardier: Lt. Richard E. Miller, Flight Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. Douglas V. Radney. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. By revev. Enjoy!

| Replacement 'Moon Light Water' Textures |
|
File Description:
Replacement "moon light water" textures for FS2004. The default FS9 night water texture is the same for all moon positions and it is clear that MS did not complete their intention to finish this section as they include “high moon”, “low moon”, and “new moon” textures for the FS9 code to work with but all the textures are exactly the same. As a result of not finishing this section MS had to make a compromise and opted for a hint of color and brightness to all the night time water environment textures. In other words upto now we have not really seen a new moon or a full moon with FS9. I’ve changed all that and maybe using these textures will give us a hint of what to expect in FS2006 or FS10. Textures included are; new moon light water textures and a new "new moon" texture. Now when you fly by moonlight you can actually see the moon kissed water and even see some wave action. The new darker "new moon" water texture allows for a dramacic difference It actually feels like you are there! Please NOTE: I've read quite a bit recently on the forums and noticed some people want no wave action. Personally, I like the wave action as it gives an impression of movement. Of course it could be better and hopefully will be in FS10 or FS2006 but that's upto MS, and it is not out yet. Meanwhile please be advised it is not possible to see environment textures and to turn the wave action off! By Peter Wilding
