Valuair - Winter 2005

File Description:
Together with their sister company, Jetstar Asia, Valuair provides value-for-money passenger and cargo flight services out of Singapore. Valuair begun operations in May 2004 and currently flies to Bangkok, Jakarta and Surabaya on its brand new A320's. Their route map also shows expansion plans for Chengdu, Hong Kong, Perth and Xiamen so we can all look forward to seeing Valuair grow.

Skyways - Winter 2005

File Description:
Skyways are a large Swedish regional carrier flying to more destinations in Sweden than any other airline. With bases in Stockholm and Copenhagen they cover some 19 destinations, also flying to Gothenburg from Sundsvall. Part of SAS's "Well connected with SAS" program since 1997, a business concept for SAS's regional partner's in Scandinavia. They also operate code-share flights with Golden Air and so I recommend you download my plans for them too - goldenair_wi05.zip from AVSIM.

Golden Air - Winter 2005

File Description:
Based in Trollhättan in Sweden, Golden Air operate a small but frequent route to Bromma airport in Stockholm and a code-share route run by Skyways to Arlanda. To see these latter flights you will need to download my plans for them too - skyways_wi05.zip from AVSIM. Primarily operated for the business traveller they are virtually grounded at the weekend operating just one flight on Sunday afternoon.

Kam Air Winter 2005

File Description:
Kam Air is the first private airline in Afghanistan's history, and started operation's on 31st August 2003. Solely owned by an Afghan businessman Kam Air provide a link between the capital city of Kabul, Herat and Mazare Sharif. During the summer they also provided flights to Dubai on a daily basis. With only one Boeing 737-200 in their fleet (the second crashed in February of this year) Kam Air keep the Afghan market alive but will surely need to expand soon.

Virgin Atlantic Airways - Winter 2005

File Description:
Created in 1984 by that most famous and charasmatic of entrepreneurs Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic began with just one plane, yet just 20 years later now have a fleet of 31 aircraft including the very latest Airbus A340-600 for which they were the launch customer. This year is the airlines 21st anniversary and to celebrate they painted Boeing 747-400 G-VFAB in an amazing new Flying Lady scheme complete with 21st Birthday badge on the nose!

Virgin Nigeria - Winter 2005

File Description:
Virgin Nigeria is Nigeria's private sector flag carrier and is 100% privately owned by the Nigerian Government and Virgin Atlantic. Their laucnh flight took off on the 28th June from Lagos to London Heathrow and they haven't looked back since, seving Abuja, Accra and Port Harcourt all from their hub at Lagos. Now although they don't fly to Heathrow anymore, they do occupy Gatwick and are a welcome sight on my home turf. Their aim is to create the best airline, not just in Nigeria but in Africa and if Virgin Atlantic is anything to go by they'll do it!

Maxjet - Winter 2005

File Description:
Maxjet are a brand new airline for this year and in their own words offer "All Business Class travel for what you will often pay in Economy." With a single Boeing 767-200 in their fleet flying between New York JFK and London Stansted offer a kind of service previously unheard of in the business market.

Kuzu Airlines Cargo - Winter 2005

File Description:
Kuzu Airlines cargo operates scheduled flights to Amsterdam, London, Dubai and Kuwait using Istanbul as its transit hub. They operate a fleet of 5 A300B4 freighters, only one of which is used in these plans. The remaining aircraft fulfil their charter and leasing operations with Kuzu offering a full ACMI service to airlines who require their expertise. With expansion plans in the pipeline and the construction of a new cargo center at Istanbul Kuzu should become a name we see more commonly in European and Middle Eastern skies!

Nok Air - Winter 2005

File Description:
Nok Air is probably the most colourful low cost airline going and was started just last year by Thai Airways to serve the Thai people and tourists with a low cost - high quality service better than any other in Thailand. Based in Bangkok, Nok (Thai for bird) Air covers the whole country with a select number of destinations from Chiang Mai in the North to Phuket in the South.

1Time - Winter 2005

File Description:
1Time, South Africa's first real low cost airline are based out of Johannesburg and Cape Town International Airports with a small yet colourful fleet of DC-9 series aircraft which provides commonality for the flight and maintenance crew. Rapidly growing, 1Time break with convention and offer low cost for all with the same price for every seat while still providing a high level of service. Andrew Jarvis has done repaints for all of the 1Time fleet.
