File Description:
RAF Wendling is a former Royal Air Force station located 4 miles (6.4 km) north west of East Dereham, Norfolk, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During the war it was used primarily as a bomber airfield, being the home of the United States Army Air Forces Eighth Air Force 392nd Bombardment Group. After the war, it was used by the RAF as a standby airfield before being finally closed in 1961 and returned to agriculture. With the end of military control the airfield has become a turkey farm.

This airport is publicly owned by the Town of Barnstable. It is Cape Cod's major airport as well as an air hub for the Cape and the Islands (Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket). Meet Ted, the low-cost branch off of parent United Airlines. Ted had its own subfleet of 57 A320s, flying to 23 popular destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. There was no first class offered, only Economy Plus and regular Economy. Ted ceased operations in 2008, and this particular aircraft, N495UA, was repainted back into United's regular colors and reconfigured with First Class seating. Painted on the great Project Airbus model. Enjoy!
