Doolittle's Raiders North American B-25 Mitchell A/C No. 40-2267 Download

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2267, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #15. Pilot: Lt. Donald G. Smith, Co-Pilot: Lt. Griffith P. Williams, Navigator/ Bombardier: Lt. Howard A. Sessler, Flight Engineer: Sgt. Edward J. Saylor, Gunner: Lt. Thomas R. White. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. By revev. Enjoy!

Lockheed VC-121A Constellation "Columbine II" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Lockheed C-121A Constellation is the military transport version of the L-749A Constellation. Delivered on 22 November 1948, this particular aircraft was soon converted to VC-121A VIP-transport. From November 1952 till November 1954 this was the personal transport of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In 1952, President Eisenhower was flying to Florida. The Presidential plane was named 'Columbine II' (after the official flower of Colorado, the First Lady's home state), but it was identified to flight controllers as "Air Force 610" (from its tail number 48-610). However, flying in the same general region was Eastern Airlines Flight 610. The Eastern Airlines pilot overheard a conversation between flight controllers and the President's plane, and for a moment thought the references to flight "610" were meant for him. Although nothing untoward happened, the government realized that the confusion could have been tragic. Since then, any Air Force aircraft with the President on board has been referred to as "Air Force One." Thus, the 'Columbine II' was the first aircraft to be distinguished with this designation, and she served President Eisenhower for several years in this role. The usual pilots were Acft. Cmdr. (Lt.) Col. William G. Draper and Pilot Maj. William W. Thomas. This repaint has been tested in FS2004 only. However, it should be working in FSX also. You will require Team 749's (Manfred Jahn and Co) Lockheed L-749 Constellation package (LOCKHEED749.ZIP), the folder Lockheed_L749_0 (twin stack exhausts). Also required Team 749's Lockheed L-749 Constellation models update (749_MODELS_UPDATE.ZIP). Repaint by Maarten Brouwer, with a big thankyou to Eric Joiner for his permission to use his Columbine nose art.

Beech D18S repaint 6-pack Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FSX Beech D18S. Six repaints for the Shupe/Thomas/Folkers Beech D18S, which you must have previously installed in FSX. I fly the version modified for FSX SP2/ACC by Dave Carroll, but I'll bet these textures will work with most other Shupe Beech 18's as well, so give them a try and see! These 18's are fresh from the restoration shop, sporting new paint in a variety of colors and a newly remodeled earth tone tan interior, which will nicely match any exterior paint schemes on these or any other Shupe Beech 18's you may already have in your hangar. There are no registration numbers or corporate/airline/charter/freighter/military markings, so you are free to add whatever markings you wish in order to customize your own personal Beech 18. If you enjoy using your 'DXTBmp' program and your computer's default 'MS Paint' program (or any paint program you prefer), you can quickly and easily add your own registration numbers, and other markings, or whatever else pleases you! Those of you who fly online in FSX Acceleration could customize your own Beech 18's and have a fly-in to show them off. Don't feel like finishing the paint details? That's cool, as you can also fly them as is if you wish, with no numbers or markings at all, as they look kinda pretty in just their new paint against a sunny blue sky! Includes a new shared 'texture' folder, which replaces the original very blue cabin interior with a new earth tone tan colored interior, to better match all of your Beech 18's exterior paints. Also includes an FSX compatible engine smoke effect. Have fun! Easy installation. By Tom Tiedman

Consolidated PBY Catalina C-FCRR Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX. It is shown here as C-FCRR, with Air France colors. Built by Boeing of Canada at Vancouver, it became RCAF Canso 9767 on March 4, 1943, and was allocated to Squadron 162, coded S, at Reykjavik, Iceland. In 1944, piloted by Flying Officers Thomas Charles Cooke and Eric Walter Wiskin, 9767 sank the German U-boat U-342 off the coast of Iceland on April 17. The amphibian was removed from the military service on April 1, 1946. The same year it was sold to Canadian Pacific Airlines, registered CF-CRR and assigned fleet number 233 (later 933), it was operated until 1959, thereafter by Northland Airlines (1960-1968), Midwest Airlines (1969-1970), and Ilford Riverton until 1973. The registration was changed to C-FCRR when Avalon Aviation acquired it as a water bomber in 1977, listed as Tanker number 791. In 1995 the aircraft was bought by Powell Eorp. Of Parry Sound, Ontario, subsequently it was owned by the Canadian Air Legend. The French pilot Franklin Devaux bought C-FCRR in 1995 and converted it to a flying television studio, it was based at Le Bourget, Paris, France. During 1996 C-FCRR was the star of monthly French television programme Operation Okavango, while in September 1998 it was the eye catcher of the three-week Champs-Elysees (Paris) static air show. The following October the aircraft started an 8,078 mls (13,000 km) trip to Chile via Dakar (Senegal) and Natal (Brazil) to commemorate early Air France South Atlantic mail service, returning to France in June 1999. On January 19, 2002 the aircraft was stored at Orly Airport, Paris, and has not flown since. Its Canadian registration was cancelled on October 7, 2005. At present it seems to be registered as N9767, and in airworthy condition again. Here's a youtube movie on this aircraft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jyzV8Gawc. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by Aerosoft.

Canadian Airlines Airbus A380 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint for Project Airbus' Airbus A380 in a fictional Canadian Airlines livery. Includes base model, high-quality textures, and updated VC. *Mask Options* This livery also includes cockpit window "Mask Options". Please see the included readme in the .zip file for instructions for applying these options. Canadian Airlines never flew the A380, as by the time the company was absorbed by Air Canada in 1999, the aircraft did not exist. The largest aircraft flown by Canadian Airlines was the Boeing 747-427. However, in our new universe, Canadian Airlines has taken delivery of one single Airbus A380, available to fly any route of your choice. It flies under the registration C-CSPN and the tail number 383. *Livery Info* Upon its founding in 1987, Canadian Airlines revealed its new livery using the colours light grey, dark grey, navy blue, and red. The paint scheme was an adaptation of the recently introduced livery from its predecessor Canadian Pacific Airlines. The lower half of the aircraft's body was navy blue, topped with light grey and red stripes, while the tail was blue, with approximately one-third taken up by the carrier's new logo. The new Canadian Airlines logo was a combination of Canadian Pacific's five grey stripes, representing the five continents served by the carrier. Over these stripes was a thick, bright red chevron. The chevron was a simplification of the Pacific Western Airlines logo. The chevron was placed over the stripes, which then represented "Wings over 5 continents". It was also an ingenious and subtle way to represent the takeover of CP by PWA. The same logo, in a square form, became a clever alternative to a true bilingual name on the fuselage replacing the French "e", and the third "a" in English (Canadian/Canadien). Model by The Project Airbus Team Textures by Julian Flight - March 31st, 2024 Virtual Cockpit by Thomas Ruth Virtual Cockpit updated by Chris Evans and Louis Quintero
