Douglas C47-B-DK c/n 33257. Purchased from Hunting Aviation in 1953 where it was registered as G-ANAS. Transfered to Wenela Rhodesia as VP-YSM then A2-ZEM. Sold to African Air carriers as ZS-KIV. It is probably the only DC-3 in the world to have suffered the most accidents and be rebuilt, it had survived no less than three landing accidents, one collision with a tree and two serious fires. One of the fires virtually destroyed the whole cockpit! The cockpit section from the original ZS-DCA, which had been abandoned at Lourenco Marques (Maputo) in 1975, was stitched on to this aircraft after one accident in the early 1990's. It finally crashed on landing in 2005 in the DRC at Kilembwe and remains there, untouched, as it is now trapped in a mine field. It was on a routine flight for Wimbidira Airways and was registered as 9Q-CWI. Prior installation of Manfred Jahn's outstanding FS2004 Douglas C-47 Base Pack (c-47_basepack_fs9.zip) is required. Re-upload. FSX/FS2004 DDA Douglas DC-4-1009 ZS-NUR/PH-DDS. This aircraft originally flew with South African Airways from 1946 till 1966, and a short interlude from 1968 till 1970, as ZS-AUA 'Tafelberg'. From 1966 till 1995 the DC-4 flew as a transport and later an electronics warfare aircraft with the South African Air Force, called 'Spook'. Its registration was 6901. In 1995 the aircraft was sold to Aero Air (Pty) Ltd as ZS-NUR. In 1995 the Dutch Dakota Association (DDA) purchased the ZS-NUR, christened 'Skymaster'. The DC-4 arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol on 5 May 1996. In 1997 she was re-registered PH-DDS. Due to the extremely tight regulations in the Netherlands, the DC-4 returned to South Africa in 2002 as ZS-AUA on long-term lease, first to Springbok Flying Safaris, later on to Rovos Air where she is still current (2008). These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's great Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (dc4_v21.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

Will not work with the default FS2004 DC-3, or with any previous versions of the MAAM-SIM product. Fictional but official repaints for the virtual airline 'DC-3 Airways' and intended primarily for use by 'DC-3 Airways' pilots. Visit www.dc3airways.com to learn more. This skin depicts the colors of SAA in the late 1950's. This skin set is for the Tom Gibson/Greg Pepper DC-7B airplane available at calclassic.com and accommodates the latest in updates from Tom and team, including custom interiors, improved lighting, air stairs and opening doors. In 1956 SAA became the first non-American airline to place the type in service and had a fleet of four. ZS-DKD was delivered to SAA in March 1956.
