Ever wanted to fly down the VFR corridor over the Hudson River and gawk at all the skyscrapers in New York City? ... in your dreams! The Department of Fatherland Security has closed it down.
But, we still have Flight Simulator. Unfortunately, the altitude mesh for this area is somewhat lacking in detail.
This Palisades altitude mesh remedies that. Covers the Palisades cliffs, of course (but no Amusement Park, sniff), and also Riverside, Morningside, and Washington Heights, and Fort Tryon. In fact, all 5 Boroughs of New York City are covered, as well as most of central and northern New Jersey (visit beautiful downtown Hoboken!), and the larger part of Long Island. Also Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Putnam counties and more. And even Bear Mountain State Park.
Approximate coverage: N40* to N42* and W73* to W75*.
Made from NASA Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data (3 arc-second resampled to LOD9 - horizontal resolution of 76.4 meters) using SRTM to BGL by Matthew Styles (available in the AvSim library.) Very easy to use - give it a try.
BONUS: includes simple instructions so that anyone can make altitude mesh for their area from SRTM data using SRTM to BGL by Matthew Styles. Sorry, SRTM data only available for the Americas at the moment. The rest of the world coming soon. Check inside for more details.

File Description:
Located 01 miles SW of Clarksboro, New Jersey on 8 acres of land, Peaslees Airstrip is a private turf field 2207' in length. The hard surface runway has been removed to allow for landings on terrain, so have your terrain mesh set as high as possible. The surrounding area of rural farmland and houses has been filled in to provide an encompassing ground environment with as few breaks to the horizon as possible. There are no services at this airport - if you arrive there is room past the hangar to park and tie down although no tie downs are available in real life, thus you can only start from this airport on the runway. The windsock is located approximately midfield of the runway, as in real life. A second hangar has been constructed nearby the current one, but MSE textures do not reflect this and it was not included. This airport is not lit and daytime VFR operations only are recommended.
Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 004. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Yananyi Dreaming was delivered to Qantas on the 16th January 2002, and is the second aircraft of the new generation series 737, to be added to the Qantas fleet. Yananyi Dreaming is inspired by the dramatic landscape surrounding Uluru and is the third Qantas aircraft to be painted with an Aboriginal design and is to be used in the Australian domestic market. Qantas operates this aircraft on domestic and Trans Tasman routes. This Aircraft is painted for Projectopensky’s 737-800 winglet model. This paint has been meticulously rendered in photoreal textures, to optimize and emphasize the realism of the paint and the model. File Description:
The historical Project Opensky or POSKY Boeing 757-200 has another paint to add to it's long list. This time it is that of the America West Arizona Special livery. This repaint is around 97% handpainted with a few photoreal elements added to ensure close to 100% accuracy and detail that is not commonly seen in the world of Flight Simulation. Nearly every pixel of these textures has either been modified or looked over in some way or form to assist in the detailing. The paint includes custom night textures, highly accurate textures that were compared to a long line of real photos of the aircraft, custom wing textures with fuselage reflection, dirt, shading and several other things that you would find on the other thousands of high quality paints available online. Paint and model have been tested with success in Flight Simulator X, however, it was mainly tested in Flight Simulator 2004 and I cannot guarantee the same results of throwing it into FSX. This is a complete package with model, virtual cockpit model, effects and virtual cockpit gauges so no other files should be required.

Virtual Airblue in association with Virtual PIA proudly presents the Project Airbus A319-112 in Airblue colours. Airblue is a Pakistan based LCC that operates throughout the Middle East and to Europe, besides domestic operations. The young airline has fast become the main competitor of national flag carrier PIA. This aircraft, previously operated by Skybus (USA) was acquired by Airblue after the former airline went bust, and has since been operating on a number of local and international routes. This aircraft wears the registration AP-BIF, and is equipped with slim recaro seats that provide maximum comfort and legroom for passengers. The repaint features accurately placed titles and photoreal tail texture adopted from a photograph. The registration appears on top of the right wing and the bottom of the left wing, and an airblue logo appears on the top of the left wing and the bottom of the right one. The Pakistani flag is placed next to the doors as well. Model features accurate dynamics plus 4 opening passenger doors and 2 cargo doors. Model by Project Airbus, repaint by Ahmed Ahsen exclusively from Virtual PIA(VPIA).

FSX PIA Boeing 747-367, registration AP-BGG. Pakistan International Airlines B747-367 Megatop Jumbo, AP-BGG, titled "Kaghan - Mountain Paradise". Contains photoreal tail, accurately placed titles and door surround repainted to match the actual airplane. Engines repainted with large yellow stickers on the left side of the casing to match the actual airplane. Being one of the later model 747-300 aircraft to roll off the assembly line, AP-BGG has a different style wingroot and no wingtip antennas as compared to other classic 747s, and the relevant model has been included. Repainted on the Project Open Sky 747v4 Advanced model. Contains ground service vehicles, stairs, tow truck, catering trucks, luggage loaders and containers painted in standard PIA colors. Luggage containers specially repainted to give a more realistic look. Registration of the aircraft painted on the bottom of the left wing, as on the real airplane. Panel updated to include utility gauge and tow truck gauge. Updated model and fde. Complete pack, requires no external downloads. Textures in high quality 32 bit format to conserve quality. Arik Air is a progressive Nigerian airline incorporated in 2004 and based in Lagos, Nigeria. This was Arik's second Boeing 737, a 322 model, registration 5N-MJB and named 'EDDINGTON' repainted for your flying pleasure in the popular Wilco/FeelThere PIC 737-300 payware model. Arik Air operates a fleet of 11 737's, 2 of them, like this, are 322 models. This and the other were both aquired from United Airlines. This is the older of the 2 Arik 737-300's, manufactured in 1989. This aircraft was registered as N354UA when it flew in the United Airlines livery. The 737-300 was Arik Air's first widebody jet aircraft in their fleet, though they have just taken delivery of an Airbus A340-500 and plan to take delivery of several Boeing 777's. All repainted textures in this package are 32-bit with no mipmaps. Custom engine base textures, night textures and photoreal engine blades. This is a textures only package; you must own the Wilco/Feelthere PIC Boeing 737-300. This is a re-upload of the original file as a result of the AVSIM site compromise.

The Piaggio P-180 is a high-speed high-efficiency turboprop aircraft. Capable of speeds up to 395 KTAS (or M0.68) up to its service ceiling of 41000ft. This performance is achieved by extreme aerodynamic optimization instead of sheer power. The end result is an aircraft that burns 40% less fuel than the average jet of comparable size, while flying at the same speed range, or 30% less than an equivalent size turboprop, as it flies much faster. The pusher propellers on the wings mounted much backwards thanks to the forward wing set make it a comfortable and quiet ride for the passengers, that also enjoy a very spacious cabin for an aircraft of this size.
