APSA '1966' C-46 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the C-46 in Aerolineas Peruanas - APSA, 1966 colors. The freeware C-46 by Libardo Guzman and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. American C.W. Shelton, the owner of the Honduran carrier TAN (Transportes Aereas Nacionales), in association with two Peruvian nationals, founded Aerolineas Peruanas SA (APSA) in September 1956. Consequently, APSA began a C-46 international service from Lima (Peru) to Santiago de Chile via Autofagasta on June 17, 1957. By 1960, the company expanded its operations to Mexico City, and Panama City. Also in 1960 the CAB of the USA granted the rights to APSA to fly to Miami. However, before the rights were granted, the CAB forced C.W. Shelton to transfers his interest in APSA to Peruvian owners, as APSA was under "foreign interests" (ie. Shelton). Thus after this ruling, Shelton's airline changed hands and became a 77% owned Peruvian airline. The company entered the jet age with the delivery of its first convair 990 Coronado, which was leased, on 23 December 1963. South American expansion was undertaken in 1964 as services were launched to La Paz, Montevideo, and Asuncion. Eventually, Lima to London via Madrid and Paris flights were inaugurated during the spring of 1969 with a DC-8-52 leased from Iberia. Tragically, due to the high costs of its aircraft leases, the carrier encountered severe financial difficulties in 1970. Aditionally, the government, led by Juan Velasco Alvarado, refused to bail out APSA. Alvarado had plans to establish a state owned airline - AEROPERU, and APSA was standing in his way. Unable to overcome its massive $22-million debt, APSA ceased operations on May 3, 1971. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. Textures are 32bit bmp. It should work on FSX, P3D v1-3, & FS2004.

FSX/P3D Lanica 727-76 1977 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the 727-76 in Lanica 1977 colors. The freeware 727-100 by Tenkuu Developers Studio (TDS) is needed for this repaint. Lanica (Nicaragua) was formed in 1945 with the assistance of Pan American, which provided 40% of the initial capital. Initially it went through a short period flying charters before beginning scheduled services in 1946. Lanica greatly expanded its route network with the takeover of TACA de Nicaragua in 1948, and FANSA in 1950. Lanica offered scheduled international passenger flights mainly to points in South America, and to Miami in the U.S. Due to political upheaval and financial problems, Lanica ceased operations in August 1981. This 727, which was purchased from TAA (Australia), was one of two that was utilized by Lanica from 1977 to 1981. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on P3D v1-3, and FSX.

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Ethiopian Airlines colors. The freeware DC-3 (C-47) V3. by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. A whopping 39 DC-3s served Ethiopian Airlines over the years. More than any other type. This repaint is of ET-ABY which joined the carrier in 1966 and stuck around till its retirement in 1991. Not bad for an old warhorse. Textures are 32bit dds. This repaint was tested on P3Dv3, and should work on FSX & FSX-SE.

FSX/FS2004 Seaboard World Canadair CL-44 1965 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the Canadair CL-44 in Seaboard World 1965 colors. You need the freeware Canadair CL-44 by Mike Stone. The Canadair CL-44 was Seaboard's first "prop-jet". Seaboard's engineers actually had a hand in its design, and it was the first modern airliner designed solely to carry freight. It could carry a payload of 65,000 pounds. A total of 7 CL-44s were purchased by Seaboard, with one leased in 1966. This aircraft was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX and FS2004. Textures are 32bit bmp. *This is strictly an FS2004 model. However, I used it on FSX-SE by replacing the FS2004 panel and gauges with an FSX 2D panel, and it worked well. I have included two internet links for users of FSX, who wish to fly the aircraft, with easy instructions on how to go about replacing the FS2004 panels with FSX ones.
