File Description:
Ken Rand's small, single-seat, retractable-gear homebuilt, built using Styrofoam and Dynel/epoxy model aircraft techniques. This model was designed using FSDS v3.51, principally for ai use, so there is a relatively low polygon-count main model, with several LOD models and a reduced-detail shadow for optimal fps. Not a short-field aircraft, it's quite streamlined and there are no flaps, so the stall speed is quite high for a small 'plane, 45kts., but as it's such fun to fly I fitted a basic VC with a functional panel using mostly default gauges. This is a "slippery" little aircraft, needing rather more runway to land than you might expect, so line up early and get your speed down if you don't want to have to go around. The flight dynamics were prepared with Gerry Beckwith's AirWrench, but, as is the way with many homebuilt aircraft, the figures I worked from, hence my final result, will probably vary from other published data. Dassault Mirage IIICZ (South African Air Force). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for Marcel Dassault's signature design of military jet history. Going into production in 1959, this aircraft, in late form, is still in service with several air forces to this day. An original 7-LOD model pays homage to this wonderful aircraft in the flightsim world. This release is the tip of the iceberg, as I have much more planned for the Mirage III in the not-too-distant future. Additionally, this aircraft design is a benchmark for me, as I begin to write my own flight dynamics, not without a lot of help in learning. This package represents the Mirage IIICZ in the service of the South African Air Force; with 12 models and 32 repaints. Original aircraft model, flight dynamics, some effects, and textures by Michael Pearson; tremendous amounts of help from Michael MacIntyre and Frank Safranek.
This file also includes a small air file update for my Mirage IIIC AdlA package.

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 Flogger (Part 5). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model and texture package for this classic (and still-serving) Russian multi-role fighter. The MiG-23, with just over 5,000 built, was Russia's first production of a true multi-role aircraft with a beyond-visual-range air superiority role as its primary function. The aircraft was arguably the direct counterpart of the F-4 Phantom, although it carried about half of the ordnance load. Nevertheless, in capable hands and late versions, the Flogger has been and is a very potent adversary; having served in multiple conflicts in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The MiG-23 entered service in 1970, was eventually operated by 43 countries, and is still in service in 14 of them. An original 8-LOD model brings this aircraft to the flightsim world. This package contains the MiG-23BN ground attack variant; with 10 models and 62 repaints. Original aircraft model, afterburner effects, flight dynamics, and textures by Michael Pearson. Turkish Air Force Lockheed F-104 Starfighter; aka the Zipper, Coffin Nail, Flying Coffin, or Missile with a Man in It (in untrained hands it resembles a lawn dart). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this hotrod of military jet history. Going into production in 1955, this aircraft was manufactured, directly or by license, by 6 countries, and served the air forces of 17 countries. Late examples served until 2004, nearly fifty years after its introduction. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world. This package represents the F-104 and CF-104 in the service of the Turk Hava Kuvvetleri; with a total of 25 models and 70 repaints; covering the hodge-podge collection of Canadair, Aeritalia, Fokker, and Lockheed airframes the Turks collected over their use of this aircraft. I am also including some optional variants with manual install instructions, on a separate document in the zip file. Ejercito Del Aire Lockheed F-104G Starfighter, aka the Zipper, Coffin Nail, Widowmaker, Flying Coffin, or Missile with a Man in It; in untrained hands it resembles a lawn dart, as nicknamed by the Canadians. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this hotrod of military jet history. Going into production in 1955, this aircraft was manufactured, directly or by license, by 6 countries, and served the air forces of 17 countries. Late examples served until 2004, nearly fifty years after its introduction. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world. This package represents the Lockheed F-104G in the service of the Ejercito Del Aire; with a total of 11 models and 21 repaints. A distinction of sorts, the EdA operated these aircraft for seven years without a single airframe loss, the only country user to do so. I am also including some optional variants with separate manual install instructions. Original aircraft model and textures by Michael Pearson, flight dynamics by Michael MacIntyre.

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-27 Flogger. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model and texture package for this classic (and still-serving) Russian multi-role fighter. The MiG-27, with just under 1,100 built, was a follow-on production variant of the MiG-23BN ground-attack version. The Flogger-D (and later -J), nicknamed the "Crocodile" for its flattened nose, was and still is a dedicated close air support and short-range strike/interdiction aircraft, comparable to the SEPECAT Jaguar. The MIG-27 has served in multiple conflicts in Europe and Asia. The MiG-27 entered service in 1975, was eventually operated by 4 countries, and is still in service in 3 of them. An original 8-LOD model brings this aircraft to the flightsim world. This package contains the MiG-27 Flogger-D and MiG-27M Flogger-J in an all-classic AI package; with 16 models and 72 repaints; current aircraft will be addressed in future releases. Tupolev Tu-22 Belaja (NATO-code 'Blinder') for AI Traffic. This is an excellent addition to your retro military AI world, a classic Cold War medium bomber. A very mean, sleek design, but not always kind to its crews, with over 70 of roughly 350 production aircraft lost in accidents. This aircraft saw extensive combat in the 70s and 80s, in North Africa, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia. The Blinder also found work as a high-speed recce and electronic warfare platform. This is a complete aircraft package, with with two LOD6 model options and four serials (two -PD and two -RD) from the 341st TbAP (Heavy Bomber Regiment), home-based at Machluschi AB, Minsk; the regiment saw combat service in Afghanistan in the 1980s. This initial release only uses the RD model, but subsequent repaints will use both -R and -RD models. A multi-layer PSP paint kit is also included. Aircraft model by Sergey Bunevich, flight dynamics by Sergey Ivanov, Anglo-Russian diplomacy and Cyrillic spelling lessons by Rysiek Winauer, master textures, repaints, and paint kit by Michael Pearson.

Convair F-106 Delta Dart. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for the last of the Century Series fighter aircraft, one of the backbones of Air Defense Command and Air National Guard squadrons from the late-1950s to late-1980s. The "Six" first flew in 1956, and over 300 of these aircraft served as strategic interceptors during the height of the Cold War. Late examples served until 1988, over thirty years after its introduction; and many were expended as target drones on live fire ranges. Additionally, the Six, in a last hurrah of sorts, was the dedicated chase aircraft for the B-1 bomber test flights, because of its speed, and low-cost as a "has-been" aircraft. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world.
This package is a complete representation of the F-106 through its entire career, in the service of the USAF as well as NASA. Models included are F-106A with early/late canopy, F-106B, and QF-106A/B manned and un-manned drones, with a total of 13 models and 70 repaints, to include over 30 individual squadron schemes.
