"Crosshairs_Plus" Panel & Model Enhancement Package Download

File Description:
This is a panel & model enhancement package for the popular FinneyGround Crosshairs_Plus scenery placement tool (chplus.zip), by Gary Mills, Robert Finnegan, and Kevin Bryan (FinneyGround). This package adds a "panel" with a highly accurate XML "Scenery Placement Gauge". Also included is an additional Gmax model, considerably smaller in size and graduated in feet rather than meters. In addition to being an extremely accurate scenery placement tool, this aircraft is an absolute hoot to fly! A minimal 2D panel .bmp aids visual reference from the cockpit while flying the model. Requires "chplus.zip", also available here at Avsim.

TWA A-380 Fictitious livery Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Re-upload. A memorial to a once great airline. This is a livery that will never grace the skys again. Trans World Airlines closed its doors in 2000 after 75 years of service. Another of the original great airlines succumbed to the corporate greed of wall street and the incompedence of upper level management. This file contains textures only for the beautiful Gmax model by Robert Versluys. The textures are a mix of 32 bit 888-8 and DXT3 formats, to insure clarity without loss of frame rates. There are also no mips to cause blurriness. NOTE: Thanks Bob for another great job!

YLUW Leeuwin Estate Winery, Western Australia Download

File Description:
YLUW Leeuwin Estate, one of the founding wineries of the now famous Margaret River district, consistently produces wines that rank with the world's finest. In 1972, following an extensive search for the area most suitable to produce the best varietal wines in Australia, legendary American winemaker, Robert Mondavi, identified the future site of the Leeuwin vineyard. Originally a cattle farm, Leeuwin Estate evolved, under the direction of Denis and Tricia Horgan, with Robert Mondavi acting as consultant and mentor. A nursery was planted in 1974 and the initial vineyards were deep-ploughed, deep-ripped, emptied of stone, planned, pegged, measured, marked and eventually planted by hand over a five year period from 1975. Featuring state-of-the art facilities, the winery building was opened in 1978, celebrating with a trial vintage. Leeuwin enjoyed its first commercial vintage in 1979, and was thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1980 "Art Series" Chardonnay in an international blind tasting. Maintaining a team of highly skilled and dedicated winemakers, and now under the direction of two generations of the founding family, Leeuwin now exports to over 30 countries. www.leeuwinestate.com.au/?page=4 REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

De Havilland DH-89 (VH-UTV) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the De Havilland DH89 Dragon Rapide by Dave Garwood. It shows Dragon Rapide VH-UTV a DH89 that is currently airworthy in Australia. With a registration like VH-UTV one would assume, at first glance, that this Dragon Rapide was a restored pre-war Australian one. It is, however, the re-registered VH-IAN which was an RAF Dominie which originally came from New Zealand in 1971. It was re-registered VH-UTV in 1999. The aircraft is still currently flying. and is registered to Robert Fox of Kellyville, NSW. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Dave Garwood.

FSX World Explorer Charles Darwin Download

File Description:
On 27th of December, 1831 Charles Robert Darwin sailed from Devonport, England for a five-year voyage around the world on HMS Beagle and returned almost five years later on 2nd of October 1836. On 27th of December 1941 our journey begins in Devonport, near Plymouth in the Imperial Airways' Short S30 LR "Cabot" flying boat to follow this example. Since Charles Darwin also made many in-land journeys on the South-american and Australian continents, a flying boat would not be practical; instead we use the FSX default DC-3 for our continental flights. Download and install Jens B. Kristensen's beautiful "empire20.zip", thanks :-) Jens!

Sikorsky S76 "Northwest Rotors" - fictitious paint for AI Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Sikorsky S76 "Northwest Rotors" - fictitious paint for AI. This paint is intended to replace the plain white S-76 AI aircraft in Robert Lacy's nicely crafted S23 Ione airfield scenery (ione_s23.zip) available at AVSIM. This paint requires the AI Sikorsky S-76C (elvis_sikorsky_s-76.zip - also available at Avsim). If you have the Ione scenery you may well already have Chris Jones' base model. The scheme is fictitious, made using a paintkit by fellow Aussie Mal Lloyd. Repaint by John Burford. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions. This is a replacement file for the file lost in the library hack.

Puzzle - The cockpit of VH-XBA, the first Boeing 707 bought by QANTAS. Download

File Description:
The cockpit (flight-deck) of QANTAS's Boeing 707 VH-XBA (nee VH-EBA), in all its 1960's glory (plus a few more modern nav-aids, of course!) The photograph was taken by Australian Historical Aviation Society member and my good friend Robert Deahm in February 2006, at the Qantas Jet Base, after the aircraft arrived in Sydney from Britain. (Bob was invited to tour the aircraft, the lucky so-and-so!) No installation is required - the puzzle runs directly from the file. Readme is included with simple and straight-forward instructions. There're six-hundred pieces to put together....I hope you enjoy it.
