Cambrian First Viscount

File Description:
One of Cambrians first batch of Viscounts bought from BEA G-AMOL was the fourth to enter service. Purchased on 1-April 1963 its career was cut short when on 20-July 1965 it went out of control and crashed on the approach to Liverpool in poor weather whilst operating a freight flight. Viscount Cambrian Second Viscount

File Description:
Cambrian Airways second Viscount livery is shown on G-ALWF which by this time was the oldest Viscount extant. The fifth built, it was retired in 1972 for preservation at Liverpool. It deteriorated badly and was saved again for the Imperial War Museum airliner collection at Duxford where it remains to this day. BAF Viscount 806 Ribbon Livery

File Description:
In the early days the ex BA Viscounts largely flew in basic BA livery with BAF titles. This livery was worn by at least G-AOYN and G-APEX. G-AOYN was repainted into the hoops livery and had a long BAF career ending up in parcelforce livery, but G-APEX was an early candidate for withdrawl and scrapping. Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper.

Viscount Guernsey Airlines BAF interim

File Description:
When Guernsey Airlines was accquired by British Air Ferries A Herald and a Viscount were assigned as a temporary measure in an interim livery. G-AOYI was the Viscount. It was soon replaced by G-AOYG in a difinitive livery but it was all token. The Guernsey operation was quite extensive and used any of the parent fleet. Viscount 807 NZNAC 1958

File Description:
The only V800 Viscounts built with radar the New Zealand National Airways Corporations fleet is represented here by ZK-BRE "City of Auckland". The aircraft is shown here in its original, delivery livery. The middle of three delivered in 1958 it was originally planned to reduce seating and increase freight but so successful were they that seating was actually increased. Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper.

Alidair Scotland Viscount 735 G-BFMW 1981

File Description:
The last variation of the Alidair Scotland yellow and blue livery is worn here by G-BFMW. Gaining registration last two on the fin, large bold titles and a completely black cockpit area, this was the last year of service for this ex Iraqi aircraft. Withdrawn at Castle Donnington in January 1982 it was first stored then broken up for spares. Requires the FSDS Viscount 700 model by Rick Piper

Alidair Scotland Viscount 735 G-BFMW 1978

File Description:
One of two series 735 bought from Iraqi Airways G-BFMW served all it's time with Alidair flying for the Scottish division. Taking up UK marks in March 1978 it was withdrawn in January 1982 and later broken up. The other ex Iraq machine entered service as the first aircraft of the then new Guernsey Airlines a member of the Alidair group. Requires the FSDS Viscount 700 model by Rick Piper

Alidair Viscount 708 G-ARGR 1979

File Description:
After a couple of spells on lease to Dan Air, G-ARGR was back in Alidair livery in 1979. This livery had slightly evolved from the early days of Viscount 700 operations. Over the years many variations of this basic Alidair scheme appeared including an early change to blue titles from the previous red. Alidair became Inter City Airways in 1981. Alidair Viscount 708 G-ARBY 1975

File Description:
One of the ex Air Inter Viscount fleet purchased by Alidair, this was at the time the oldest flying Viscount. It became infamous in a spetacular non fatal forced landing on the 17-July 1980 when it ran out of fuel ten miles short of Exeter airport. This is the first of many livery Variations worn by the Alidair fleet. Requires the FSDS Viscount 700 model by Rick Piper

File Description: "Representative" flightplans by Steve Lewis. Aircraft by Jacques Capdeville. Air Arctic is a Fairbanks, Alaska based, FAR Part 135 air operator located on the East Ramp of the Fairbanks International Airport flying seasonal charters in far North Alaska. Due to the seasonal nature of their operations, we have provided "representative" flightplans for all four of their Piper Chieftains. We hope you enjoy this little extra for your Alaska flight experience.
