| NAC de Havilland DH-114 Heron 1B |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description: In 1957 they were written from use. One Heron was sold to the UK but sadly suffered a fatal crash on delivery. The other three, including ZK-BBM, were stored and in 1960 sold to Fiji Airways (later Air Pacific). In November 1975 Rotorua-based Air North bought ZK-BBM from Air Pacific. Already in 1978 she made her final landing and was stored for years at Ardmore Airfield. Classic Flyers NZ, based at Tauranga Airport acquired the Heron in March 1989. Since then she has been restored for static display at the Classic Flyers Museum.
You will need the DH-114 package available at Classic British Flightsim.
New Zealand National Airways Corporation (NAC) was the first operator to receive the DH-114. From 1952 till 1957 NAC flew with four Herons 1B's, which were acquired to serve those airfields which could not take NAC's standard airliner of those days, the Douglas DC-3. The Herons primarily flew across Cook Strait (Rongotai-Blenheim-Nelson) and later also to Hamilton and Rotorua. Since many modifications were required for this new airliner, the Herons proved too costly.

| DDA Classic Airlines PH-PBA 2019 Douglas C-47 (DC-3) 75 YEARS! |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description: For Manfred Jahn's C-47 with Jan Visser's VVC, version 3.14 repaint of DDA
(Dutch Dakota Association) Classic Airlines. The only flying DC-3/C-47 in the
Netherlands at the moment. Hopefully joined by her sister (PH-DDZ) in the near
future. The new 2018 livery of the DDA Dakota is going back to it's roots, as it royal
colours in which it flew in the '50 and '60. Now updated with the "75 years"
logo. The aircraft is 75 years old this year. Besides the new logo, the following was updated:
- The Red colour was made a bit brighter __
- Adjustments on several locations (Reallife paint was not 100% the drawings ;-) __
- Several (small) details added on the outside, incl new prop textures __
- Several gauge bitmaps modified (most noticable the Airspeed indicator) __
- Some bitmaps of the VC modified __ For more info on the real DDA visit there site: https://www.dutchdakota.nl/en/home/ Besides the outside, the inside and the pilot's got a different look. Also
added some more details, especially at the tires and gear struts.
The VC textures are repainted to get the cockpit as much in line with the real one. Big thanks to Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model and
Jan Visser and his team for all the work done to improve this model even further.
Ted "TuFun" Wolfgang for the improved engine textures. For this repaint the
excellent paintkit by Gordon "Gman5250" Madison was used. Works both in FSX
and Prepar3D. Special thanks to Paul van den Berg from DDA Classic Airlines
for providing the original paint drawings and beta testing the livery.
---> Works both in FSX and Prepar3D

The YU-AJU was flown by Adria Airways in the second half of the eighties out of Ljubljana, at that time still a part of Yugoslavia. After Slovenia gained it's independence, Adria Airways gradually replaced the fleet and the look of it's aircraft. Today Adria flies Airbus A320 and Canadair CRJ-200 aircraft.

| Northrop B-2A Spirit Pack 1 |

File Description:
Here is my corrected version of the default B-2A texture from Area 51, plus two more "Spirit" bombers.
Area 51 had the incorrect year for 82-1068 (default was drawn as 02-1068) and the "Spirit of New York" name and "WM" were placed in reverse order on the main gear doors. I corrected this and made a few mods to the textures to give some variety to each jet.

| North American P-51D 1st SF (5E-E) "Easy Does It" |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang (with AccuSim), in the colors of P-51D-5-NA 44-13557 5E-E "Easy Does It" as flown by Lt Richard 'Spider' Smith of the 1st Scouting Force, 8th AF. Lt. Smith was a B-17 plot with the 303rd BG and had completed his tour of 35 missions in october 1944 when he was made an offer he could not refuse. As all pilots, he had been dreaming of flying a fighter and was disappointed when he was assigned to the bombers. He now was asked to join the newly formed scouting force, which used experienced bomber pilots to scout ahead of the bomber force flying Mustangs. After 6 hours in a T-6 and 10 hours in a P-51, 'Spider' (so called because of his physique, tall, with long thin limbs) flew his first missio in a P-51 on 6 december 1944 in an old 364th FG P-51D-5, which he named 'Easy Does It' after it's callsign E. The name 'Betty' on the canopy rail referred to his future wife back in the US, but also to a nurse he was dating in the UK. On his 26th mission, on 1 april 1945, flying lead to Leipzig, his engine caught fire on the return flight, and he had to bail out over Belgium. He broke his arm when he hit the tail on bailing out, but otherwise landed safely. He was sent home to the US and came back just before his 21st birthday, having flown 60 missions. HIs story can be read here: http://www.rccr1957.com/spider.pdf.
He did not crash with this aircraft though, this was damaged during a ground collision in the winter of 1944-45, was repaired and was now flying with the 487th FS/352nd FG as Maj. 'Wild Bill' Halton's 'Slender, Tender and Tall', where it finished the war. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

| North American P-51D 353rd FG (YJ-L) "Willit Run?" |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D-10-NA 44-14771 YJ-L "Willit Run?" which flew with the 351st FS, 353rd FG from Raydon in the UK, with Maj Frederick LeFebre as its regular pilot. The P-51 is named “Willit Run?â€, but the nose art on this plane is not talking about this particular aircraft or any P-51 for that matter. It’s an inside joke of WWII vintage.
During WWII, as in every big war, private industry is called upon to produce war goods rather than civilian goods – “guns vs. butterâ€. Henry Ford took on a huge project to contract-build Consolidated B-24 Liberator bombers in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to be built on a farm which Henry Ford owned at Willow Run near Detroit. The facility was to be a prime example of Roosevelt’s “Arsenal of Democracyâ€, conceived and built on an unprecedented scale. Begun in April, 1941, it was the largest enclosed room in the world, with 3.5 million square feet. But Willow Run had a long and troubled construction and start-up time. So long and troubled a start-up, that after two years with little results the public became disillusioned with the project and derisively nicknamed the plant “Willit Run?â€.
Ford persevered however, and Willow Run finally hit its stride, eventually producing at the prodigious rate of 650 B-24 bombers per month by August, 1944. At war’s end, Willow Run had produced about half of the 18,000 B-24's which saw service in the war.
